The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Arlington
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.
The music is awesome and the atmosphere is totally Rock n Roll concert vibes. The server was super nice and the Rock Chicken sandwich was delicious.
Food was terrible
We had reservations for a group of 11 and they put us in a new server area. The waiter was unorganized, couldn't get simple drink orders right, by the time we got a second server we were frustrated and service didn't improve. We had small children ordered the PBJ pizza which no longer has jelly and came out dead last. We planned for two hours as we were seeing a show after dinner, we barely made the performance. Food was mediocre at best, frankly, Domino's is better and even when delivered the pizza is hot. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend.
My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant for a New Years date. The food was okay, but not that special. I tried the seafood pasta
they were known for and it was very basic. I would
recommend though as long as you try something different.
Good food and service.
We wanted something local, nicer than fast food and something new to us. This was everything we were looking for! Great salad & artisan pizza. We sat at the bar to watch the heisman ceremony. Bar service was awesome and met some interesting people. We will definitely be back our next trip to Arlington, TX.
Nice atmosphere good food and service
After dining here several times, this was a total fail because of the service and frankly rude hostess and manager. Upon arrival for my scheduled reservation, the hostess said it’ll be a few minutes. After waiting over thirty minutes, I approached her to ask about the delay and approximate wait. She responded rudely and said she can’t ask others to leave. Another hostess approached and presented with the same demeanor. I told them that their responses were unnecessary. I was told that I could talk to the manager. I approached him. He continued working while we spoke. He offered little other than to say they were very busy, Open Table over booked them, his staff were stressed, and we would get the next table. So approximately forty-five minutes after our reservation time, we were seated. Our food was good, but the vibe was not the best from the onset.
We were seated promptly when we got there for our reservation. We were asked for our drink order and about 10 minutes later the waiter came back to let us know they were out of one of the drinks on the menu, which we found odd, but ok. So she ordered a bloody mary instead. 5 minutes later he came back and said they were out of bloody marys. Now this was really weird being it was 5;00 on a Saturday evening. Third time was a charm. Then we all ordered our food. Took a little while longer then we thought being they were not too busy yet. One meal was cold and the fish and chips were over fried so much the fish was non existent. The meals were sent back and were taking forever to come back out. The rest of us were finished with our meals. We asked for the manager and she came over and was very helpful. She made it right for us with the bad meals but I do not understand how a place runs like this. It was a concert night and I know the people after us were not going to have as much time to wait.
Came after the game, had a reservation, they sat us but told us the kitchen was all backed up and it would be at least 40 min for food. We stayed because everywhere was packed. Had burgers, Stale roll after 30 minutes! You should be prepared for game day! Horrible
They were out of a couple different things we asked for and were unable to accommodate a special diet (not that special). My daughter’s pasta tasted like a certain fast food pasta. My salad had 2 thin slices of chicken and none of the cheese listed on the menu. Not impressed.
Not a bad pizza place
interesting choices and wood fired
but could really step up service a bit
We were a party of four and went on a Sunday for dinner. I don't know if the lunch crowd had wiped them out or what, but the experience wasn't stellar.
We were seated promptly and the table location was good. We didn't receive any silverware or napkins and the table didn't have the basics for a pizza joint (salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes). One of the menus had food splatters on it. We tried to order two different appetizers, but they were out of the ingredients for the ones we were interested in. We finally found an appetizer to order, the quesadilla, and it was good. We each had different pizzas and they were all good. We had to track down silverware and cheese and red pepper shakers, but never saw salt and pepper shakers.
It was just kind of lackluster.
Food was very good. My wife had their burger and I had the Walnut Pear Pizza which was really good. Liked the craft beer. We just wished we had sat in the bar where there are no kids. Was much quieter in the bar but overall a great experience and would come back.
Made a reservation and they wouldn’t even seat us because they said it was an hour wait even though there was no one standing and waiting to be seated! They said they didn’t have enough employees to serve us so we were literally turned away. Can’t say I have ever experienced that before!
Service was awesome, the server was very professional and courteous, very warm environment and the food was delicious, definitely going back again:)
Loved everything only issue was we wanted shots and they didn’t have any made
Everything else was great I would recommend
Tried burger, pizza and the cheese bead with brown sugar.....all were delicious!
Pre concert meal. Waitress couldn’t have moved slower despite the hostess saying we’d have no time getting to the concert in time. Pizza was okay but nothing to write home about and the app portions were small
Great food, good environment and great service
Would return anytime
I have to admit that I LOVE this place! First - The staff is Friendly - Fast bit not Pushy and we never felt rushed!
The decor is very Rockish! (See the pics) - we felt valued!
The Food is amazing! I had the fish and chips others had the pizza and one person had the Cajun pasta everyone had nothing but good things to say about the food.
The drinks were cold they were always full... they did run out of coffee but that's OK.... who goes to this place to drink coffee? Lol
Our waiter who we will call David Spade, I forgot his name, was extremely attentive... making sure we were comfortable we had everything that we needed and that we were taking care of... employees like him is what makes these places successful!!!
And short thank you... and I have to say...
"Can you smell what the rock is cooking!!!!" Lol
The decor of the place was really cool. But unfortunately the service and the food were mediocre at best.
The staff was great. The food was hot and the salad was the best ever. We will be back with more friends
The pizza was not good. We had to wait 15 minutes before someone came to our table.
Service was outstanding never had to ask waiter for a refill on the drinks. Took a little while for the food come out. Pizza dough little Bland overall had a good experience. Atmosphere outstanding had a good time.
The pizza is amazing!! Wonderful value in the entire experience!!
This was a surprise birthday party with a group of about 12 people. It would have been nice to have the upstairs but our party was last minute and you fit us in and made a great space for us. The food was amazing and everyone loved what they ate. The bar did a great job making all the guest feel great.
We met some friends here and sat in the bar. We were able to get in and seated quickly and had our drinks within a couple of minutes. The food is good and they will work around your dietary issues (dairy for me). They didn't pester us to much as we wound up sitting there quite a while watching the Dallas Cowboys play after we had dinner. Overall a 3.5 to 4.0 experience
The meatball mac and cheese wasn't the best. The mac and cheese was good but the meatballs were not cooked very well, a little soft and for the price I expected a much better quality. The service was wonderful great server. She was very attentive. If I come back will try something different
My "last pizza" before "the diet", so glad it was this one!! Yummy basic Founders Pie! I can't wait for a cheat day to do it again.
Thanks for accommodating our small group of teens and their parents!
The combination of poor food with average service (at best) will most likely spell doom to this restaurant. It all started out with having no ginger beer for a moscow mule at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. Would stay away and try somewhere else.
A good dinner with business friends. Everything was very good.
Best pizza ever!!!
Pizza was luke warm. Margs had too much syrup. Server was good,
Large Birthday group of 17
Table was ready when we got there
You were out of ribs which ruined the visit for a few in our party. It was my birthday and server was told but no special notice, not even a "happy birthday" from our server. She never offered anyone a second round for the 5 of us having drinks. Two in our party had tea but she only refilled for one of those. We could have asked her but she was never around when these issues needed addressing. We had to go find her to give her a 20% tip she did not deserve on our $192.00 bill.
Looking for a spot after the Cowboys game to watch Sunday Night Football. Great spot! Great pizza too!
Came before Taylor Swift. Food was decent. Wrong drinks sent, waitress very inattentive and not that interested in helping us get out the door to make the concert in time with a large group.
The Rock was awesome! I went for my spouse’s birthday and we had a party member who was wheelchair bound. The servers were wonderful and helped get everything situated so that no one felt awkward or separated from the group! And the food was amazing!
Great choice for pre-game meal with the crew! Not too many options for vegetarians but loved the atmosphere and friendly, accommodating service. A great discovery for this Dallas native!
