Delicious food, great location. Decor very nicely done. The cocktails are yummy too!
The staff did a great job with the social distancing and the food was great. The only down side was eating with plastic silverware but if that's what needs to happen, so be it.
We enjoyed our brunch on a lovely Sunday morning. Everything was very well organized and timely considering it was the first weekend open after quarantine. This restaurant has a very nice vibe with lovely views in a great location. Our server was very nice and attentive. We look forward to returning.
Waitress was very nice, menu wasn’t what they had on open table. We had came for the burger on the brunch menu & was disappointed when we got there and they changed to a summer menu! Who doesn’t eat burgers In the summer? Actually didn’t eat drank coffee & left to another place but the place and set up was beautiful on the water and the staff was nice and attentive.
Nice place to sit outside.
Excellent food, drinks and service.
Amazing food and drinks. Staff makes you feel right at home. Love this place
A nice little out of the way find!
This is our 1st time there My son who turned 21 picked it out it was excellent as I was nervous in eating mediterranean food but I will go back guaranteed
Our waitress Donna was amazing! She made my daughter feel so special on her 9th birthday ! Definitely coming back great experience overall
Wow - Kerilyn at the bar was so sweet, gave us good recommendations, as it was our first time here, and the food was spectacular! Chilled octopus, lamb tacos, steak with avocado fries! - all yummy! Will definitely be back again and again!
Our waitress/bartender was amazing. Compliments to the chef as well
The view is very nice and the vibe is cool too. Is a nice place anytime of year.
Positive: The main course, Cioppino, was excellent; Foccacia bread for the table; also excellent. Ambiance - nice. It's a small restaurant, cozy and nice - on the water.
Negative: The service was bad on this night. More than 20 minutes passed before we saw even our salads. She never brought our drinks. Server never acknowledged the wait or the fact that we had to ask others about our drinks which sat at the bar unattended. By the time we got them they offered "more ice" rather than a fresh not watered down drink.
Food good - service terrible.
This is a cute restaurant right on the Providence water front. Unfortunately, our experience would not have us returning to this restaurant. The service was extremely slow. We didn't have any food until an hour after arriving. The food itself was very mediocre. We ordered the grilled octopus which was overcooked and therefore tough. The portion was quite small given the $21 price. The duck entree was also overcooked. Neither dish was particularly tasty. We were very disappointed.
Food was excellent but menu is small and were out of all beef so choices were limited
We had scheduled a reservation and called to confirm that the reservation was going to work as I had been here previously and knew the space was smaller. We arrived a bit early, and decided to grab a drink at the bar- thankfully we grabbed enough seats because our table wasn’t ready for an hour and a half after our reservation. We ended up eating at the bar- which was difficult for a group of 6- the food was alright- definitely not worth the money. It came out for 2 people at a time in 10 minute intervals- 20 minutes after we got our food we still didn't have place settings so we had to wait to eat and the food was cold. Only one bartender to serve a full bar & make drinks for the entire restaurant- we had to ask for glasses of water 4 times and it took 35 minutes. Likely won’t return as the only thing that was worthwhile was the ambiance.
Great food, great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for brunch!
The restaurant is located in a lovely spot and we dined on Valentine’s evening. The restaurant was decorated in a lovely fashion with rose petals everywhere; along with a piano player and singer which added ambiance to our evening. We were greeted and seated right away. We were served water and bread right away; however, the focaccia bread was very cold to the bite — it was probably frozen and not fully thawed. We ordered drinks, they had a nice and creative selection for the evening; however, they were not served until we were completing our first course. The bartender seemed preoccupied — folks were going to the bar instead of ordering from their tables due to the delay. The first two courses from a prefixed menu were delicious; however, the desert we picked was very unpleasant and we could not eat after taking 1 bite of each. We picked the 3 cake dessert which tasted stale as if it was made days ahead of time and refrigerated or frozen. This is a restaurant that opened within the last year and just needs some adjustments.
Spent Valentine’s Day there. Noise level, even with live music, was very appropriate. Service was great and the food was very good. Overall a very nice night.
Wife turned 30
cute place, great service, good food. I thought it would be a bit more lively. A DJ for their Sunday brunch would be a great hit.
Great food, great service (very helpful & friendly) and nice location
It was our first time at the restaurant it is a cozy intimate place perfect for a clear cold winter night.
Wasn’t busy when we arrived on a at 6:30 became increasingly busier throughout the evening.
We had appetizers, salad enter dessert. I had the salami which was very tasty the Balava ice cream sandwich was yummy
We went early 5:30 was very quiet food was very good waitress very sweet my friend and I shared 3 social plates and it was plenty for us hubbies had a full dinner to themselves. I definitely would return here. Prices were fair very clean restaurant!
The food is excellent! Great atmosphere, interesting and delicious cocktails. The chef was very accommodating to my family’s dietary restrictions as well. I highly recommend this place.
Great food, even better view!!!
We checked this place out for restaurant week and we were NOT dissapointed. The stuffed duck was delicious and you HAVE to try the baklava ice cream sandwich. The place is small but we never felt cramped and it wasn't overly noisy. The view is also fantastic of the river! We will definitely be back! The owner came over to ask how everything was. Super nice guy. Seemed very appreciative
Stopped here to meet friend before Friars basketball game. Has a really good brunch menu which isn't on their web site. Great table by the river. Attentive, friendly service.
We went there during restaurant week. We had an excellent meal with great service and atmosphere. We plan to go back soon.
First visit to The River Social was during restaurant week and coincidentally on their one year anniversary! It was such a fun night for everyone. The staff was very welcoming throughout the experience. Each dish was perfectly crafted and drool worthy.
Parking note: There is valet but we parked on the street.
10/10 would recommend.
Great customer service, very intimate setting. Staff is awesome, like how they brought around samples too test out. Portions are more than enough, the food is out of this world. Save room for dessert, unbelievable and im an not a dessert person. Will definitely be back.
Great spot for brunch! Kid-friendly menu options while still being upscale.
Location is great, nice ambiance. Food was not well prepared. We got the Social Tower, consisting of chicken, lamb and beef. The meat was so overcooked and dry, it was like eating jerky. The whole meal was overpriced for the value we received.
The shrimp and polenta plate was fantastic! Great service by Ariana and the manager. Will definitely return.
Wonderful energy, atmosphere, and location right on the Riverwalk. Great service, very attentive, warm, , and professional staff. Food was DELICIOUS.
Great drinks! Loved the atmosphere and the decor of this place!
I was so disappointed I brought her friend from out of town there and had We shared to salads and 2 appetizers and had some cocktails the appetizers were absolutely inedible. The server/bartender Could tell that we were not enjoying our food but did not bother to ask if we want to just watch anything out she more or less avoided us until she brought the check.
DO NOT go here if you have food allergies!
Made waiter aware of gluten allergy, ordered dinner that was marked in menu as GF and it came to me with food that was contaminated. The chef fried the potatoes in a fryer also used for items that have gluten.
I did not get to eat my dinner with the rest of party. My food came to me after everyone else was finished eating.
No manager ever came over to apologize, to see how the new food was, or anything! If I had not double checked on how the food was prepared, I would have gotten sick. This should NEVER happen when food in menu is labeled gluten free and waiter/chef is made aware.
Nothing was done except handing us a $5 card to come back again on way out. We wont be back.
