Great venue and lovely limited menu. Staff very friendly. Love it.
Beautiful spot by the river, managed to park which could be a problem at peak times, pretty little village, good value, tasty food!
Lovely setting and good service. It is a very limited menu and does not seem to change although the Specials help to make it different.
We went for breakfast, the food was amazing and good value. The service was excellent, and one of our party can not tolerate gluten and the staff were very well-informed and went out of their way to help.
The food and the service were both excellent. The staff were particularly helpful to my daughter who is a celiac. Can’t wait to go back.
Our favourite local never ceases to deliver !
Great location, fantastic and interesting food. Great quality ingredients.
Will be returning!!
What an amazing place, staff were amazing and location is to die for. Highly recommended. Food quality was amazing…so good we went twice, once for breakfast then for an evening meal.
Lovely spot on the Dart with freshly produced food served by super helpful, friendly staff!
Love everything about this place! Great pizza, beautiful setting and the most warm and welcoming staff.
Idyllic setting, friendly staff and delicious food.
Fabulous lunch after using our dinghy up river from Noss. Excellent food and lovely waiting staff. Amazing location and great find!
Been here 3 times this week for brunch, lunch and dinner and never disappointed. Great location and ambience with really polite and helpful staff.
I arrived a little early by boat, with my friend to this beautiful setting by the river. We were greeted by a delightful waiter who offered us a drink whilst we waited for the table. We were then shown to a lovely table under a pergola right by the river. Our charming waitress then brought some delicious fish tacos and crab salad. We had a lovely bottle of crisp cold white wine. All in all it was a perfect lunch. Thank you! We will be back!
Brilliant place been coming for years, great setting perfect service and delicious food!!!
I’m a local born and bred here in Torbay and I can honestly say this is the most beautiful setting to dine at.The menu caters for all dietary requirements and is really tasty.
The owners and their staff are welcoming and attentive nothing is too much trouble.
It’s a good idea to book on the website to guarantee a table at the time you would like
It was lovely very chilled
Lovely spot, Lovely staff, Lovely food. Just don't tell everyone.
This is an amazing find! We have boated there three times to The River Shack this summer from Ditsum, mooring on a visitors bouy and coming in on our tender. The warm welcome is wonderful and the table seating brilliant and I haven’t even started on the food yet. It’s all so fresh and delicious. Good daily menu and then some lovely specials on the board. Try it - I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to everyone there.
Excellent food.Thankfully staff allowed my girls to have adult sized portions of the child’s pasta dish-otherwise they would have struggled to find something they liked.Very busy-but excellent place to eat, next to mill pond.
Always a nice place to eat. Great location but parking cost always annoying. Maybe a refund on the parking if you are eating in the river shack
We had a delicious lunch at the River Shack. Service was prompt and friendly, food was really good quality, and we sat in breezy shade on a hot day and had a really pleasant family time. Highly recommended.
Lovely breakfast blessed with fine weather made our visit one of those cherished family events.
Nice setting but my husband spent most of our visit in the queue for the car park.
Took my daughter for a birthday lunch, but she couldn't find anything she liked on the menu, so just had some chips & a brioche roll. Had made a special request when booking, but nobody acknowledged it.
Portion sizes very small, & definitely not value for money. As it was her birthday my daughter wanted a dessert, but no dessert menu :-(
On a positive note, the waitress serving our table was lovely & very jolly, but would not return.
All good here. Great service and food was of a very high standard
Great views , lovely food and very friendly staff
Gorgeous setting, good was delicious, staff, even though extremely busy were friendly and helpful.
Very nice meal Menue a bit limited . Eating of wooden boards not my personal preference. Seats not very comfortable. Situation great. Wonderful views.
Great location, great food, and pleasant, efficient staff. What more could one wish for?
Fabulous simply cooked fresh seafood in beautiful setting.
Friendly staff, great veiws, interesting local menu.
Unfortunately the mussels had gone but the fresh mackerel delicious.
Lovely staff. Great food. Only criticism is that they have no baby changing facilities at all. Awkward.
Our first time at the River Shack. A wet and windy day, fortunately in the sheltered area but still getting a bit chilly after a while. That was the only downside and clearly not the venue's fault. Food was delicious and reasonably priced compared to similar places in the South Hams. Very friendly staff generally but special mention for a particularly chirpy lady with a singing background.
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you Will and Faye and all your friendly staff.
Wonderful location, great ambience, delicious locally- sourced food and drinks, lovely staff - an absolute must!
Fantastic place. Great service and wonderful atmosphere.
Waited nearly an hour for food , meals didn’t arrive together, fish tacos were barely warm and the tacos had become hard. The pizza when it arrived was good. The salted caramel brownie was unpleasantly salty, the Eton mess consisted of soft strawberries ,a slimy red sauce ,warm cream and no evidence of meringue. Portion was very small considering the £7 price The girls serving were pleasant and could have sold us more drinks but we were not on their radar. We have been coming to the River Shack for a few years and were pleased that it had become popular under new management, however they need to address their quality of food & service before we go again
Excellent site. Katie and her fellow colleagues looked after us very well. Crab starter superb.
Beautiful setting, front of house excellent, v friendly service, relaxing, quality food.
Enjoyable lunch at the waterside. Thanks for the great service and food.
