Small, family run, and local, with excellent food and great service
We love this place. Food and service are excellent and it’s easy to park !
What more is there?!!
We’ve been to the Rising Sun before and the brothers who run the restaurant recognise us. They set up a lovely birthday surprise on arrival for my boyfriend and gave a candle in his dessert. The food (steak and lamb) was beautifully cooked and presented. Every meal I’ve had at the Rising Sun has been beyond expectations in terms of flavour, presentation and portion.
It may seem pricey to some, but I promise it’s worth it. If you can catch some tirimisu, it’s Italian-recipe made and to die for! The blood orange sorbet is also fabulous.
Always a great experience. Welcoming, accommodating and fantastic food
Good meal in pleasant surroundings. Excellent service although menu choices somewhat limited. However, some interesting options nonetheless. Am going back soon!
Great food, great service, lovely people ...a real gem in Mill Hill
Lovely evening but the Barn area we were in was quite noisy with no way of reducing the sound
Amazing as always
Great dinner as always look forward to dining with you soon, thank you
Lovely local restaurant, with fantastic food and great friendly service!
We went there for Valentines. The owner of the place served us. He suggested a good meat dish which was off the main menu. He did not say the price and when the bill arrived a bad surprise was there as the dish only for 1 person was 65 pounds!
A bit pricey, but such a lovely place, with such character, and beautiful food.
Great food good service and atmosphere.
The carpark is too small and the building itself is disjointed.
Lovely meal and cosy dining
Always fantastic food and great service. Not cheap, but there are so many “average” restaurants in the area, charging not much less, it’s well worth paying the extra if you want really good food and attentive service.
Always amazing. Delicious food, friendly and warm service and cute cocktails! Thank you Rising Sun. We’ll be back!
Excellent food and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend for a local restaurant especially for a Saturday night with friends.
Amazing food and service as always at the brilliant Rising Sun. We are so lucky to have such a top quality restaurant nearby.
fantastic food and service, cannot fault! well worth the trip there - this place came highly recommended by my family and it didn't disappoint. will go again.
Excellent friendly staff and management .quality of food was exceptional. So helpful withchilds allergy. Nothing was to much trouble. If you live or visit North London a must.
Excellent food in true Italian style, pleasantly presented and served with a smile. Owners and staff knowledgeable about their menu. On this occasion it was a quiet lunchtime and the service was rapid. I have eaten here on a busy evening and whilst not rapid, the service was neverthess prompt and friendly.
Good food, friendly accommodating staff, adaptable menu. Always a pleasure to visit.
The steak salad is amazing. The service and staff are friendly and attentive. Have been many times and will continue to go.
Really enjoyed the whole experience. The setting , the food the staff were all welcoming and kind. Menu tends to change but was thrilled by each course.
This was second visit in 2 weeks. This time to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We were seated in one of the two rooms where a very noisy party had just arrived. We weren't happy about this and I spoke to the Manager about it. He moved us immediately to the other room and was very understanding. I was impressed. Once seated in a much quieter room we were offered a glass of Champagne. Again I was impressed.
The food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.
The service was professional, attentive and very pleasant.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.
The Rising Sun has gone upmarket.
Very good food with imaginative presentation.
Only criticisms :
The menu is quite small .
Service was a bit slow considering the restaurant was not that busy.
Great little pub/restaurant, food was very good, staff were excellent. It is obvious that there is a great deal of care taken by the owners and staff. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular
Absolutely lovely - food superb as was the service
Father's day menu so may have been reduced accordingly, but the menu was very short. Having said that there was something for everyone, good portions and very tasty!
Recommended but with such a small menu, difficult to go back.
Service was excellent with friendly and engaging staff. Sat outside which was glorious.
Lovely warm evening so we sat outside. Food absolutely delicious and service excellent. The only downside was slightly uncomfortable seating and, having opted to sit outside, we then realised that the diners on the next table were smokers. Great atmosphere though and would definately go back.
Fabulous Italian restaurant in a 360 year old pub. Friendly staff and great food.
Delightful experience. Helpful staff and delicious food!
To be clear we have had a good meal in this restaurant but upon our last visit we experienced terrible everything. The menu is limited and upon arrival we are told that the 2 main items beef and veal chop are sold out ! Compounding this those items were served to other tables whilst we are sitting there. My guests didn't eat meat so the only option which was not on the menu was a burger. Expecting a nice freshly made burger we got the cold frozen variety literally served cold. The manager had ample opportunity to make good in some way but table for 4 2 eating burgers £150. Very nice for them we won't be back.
Enjoyed an excellent meal again at the Rising Sun. The menu is not extensive but there was plenty of choice for everyone and the presentation of all the dishes was a good as the taste! I think the dining room has been redecorated and it has a very nice ambience now. The tables are quite close together so it can get quite noisy.
Both the owner and the chef (Luca) were very welcoming and caring.
Excellent ambiance, good food, great service , well located, cosy, in fact wonderful
Friendly and welcoming. Wonderful steaks. Interesting wine list. A real neighbourhood gem.
Somehow we were underwhelmed by our recent visit. On our previous visit we were perfectly happy but this time we found the menu very limited and overpriced, though nicely cooked. Too many people crowded into small rooms makes it so noisy with everyone raising their voices to be heard. Not a comfortable evening.
Chef Mortali served up an absolutely wonderful meal, only topped by the general service and hospitality of the team and owners alike.
Excellent all round with very friendly and accommodating staff
