The Rise Eatery
Guests reap the rewards of Executive Chef Dan Leung’s limitless imagination and 15-plus years of cooking experience. The global fusion offerings celebrate the ethnic diversity of Vancouver. We’re one of the few, if not only, places in town where France greets South Korea, Japan meets Italy, and Taiwan welcomes Mexico with open arms on a plate. Crafted with locally sourced ingredients and prepared in a way that’s meant to be shared, our menu encourages an exploration of global tastes, techniques, and cultures. Equally innovative items are served at lunch and creative brunch items are served on Saturdays & Sundays. Dining experiences in our modern, spacious room or on our hidden patio during warmer months are fun without falling lax, sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Careful steps for safe service post-pandemic are also in place.

Chicken Seoul Good*
korean style fried chicken, wild mushroom cream, truffle oil, grated parmesan
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Recommend the Seoul chicken, Heart attack fried rice and Lo hay salad.
New staff are not yet comfortable in their rolls. Our server asked to have plates passed to her rather than walk around and pick them up herself. Needs a little more experience and guidance, I guess.
nice place with nice food and nice patio！ love it，
This is one of my favourite place to brunch. Great food, and great staff.
Some of the best fusion we’ve found in Vancouver! The Seoul Good is a MUST try as are their various, gorgeous cocktails. We left so full and so satisfied.
Their newly done-up patio is also commendable: it’s at the back of the restaurant, therefore away from street traffic and offers a more private ambience.
Our server was also a delight and happily took photos of my husband and I. 11/10 would recommend all around.
I just love the combinations of flavors, a very unique dining experience.
Bravo chef Dan, exquisite as always.
We sat on the patio and the service was very slow since the wait staff didn’t come out very often. The food was alright.
Food is good, unique, and affordable. Staff were also nice and friendly. We did wait a bit for our food but they were apologetic about it. I guess it’s because it is the first week after the BC circuit breaker ended so they were still adjusting.
After seeing their food all over instagram, we thought we would give Rise a go. Some of the waitstaff seems rather new. Upon arrival, it seems like the table originally reserved for my party was given to someone else. I was lead to my table to wait for the rest of my party. No water was offered no menu was brought to the table. It wasn't until my friends arrive did the waitress bring over a bottle of water and 3 cups.... 5 minutes later, she came back to take our order, however, no menu was provided to us. It wasn't until then that she explained that the little business card that was at the end of the table, when you flip it over, were QR codes that you can scan to get the menu. Throughout the 3 hours we were there, there were 3 different 'crashes' that were heard.
We ordered 3 appetizers to share - they all came at different times which was appreciated. The share plates weren't taken away after the appies were done, and when the 3 mains we ordered also came at different times, we ended up having to eat them as "shared mains" rather than our own individual main course. We ordered their farris wheel dessert, and we didn't feel it was worth the money spent on that. It felt like a modge podge of random premade/store-bought frozen dessert that as put on a little ferris wheel and you paid for the presentation. The 'beignet' that was on the wheel had the texture of a stale donut rather than a freshly fried beignet.
I have to say it was disappointing after hearing good reviews from other friends. Mind you they did say they weren't for their breakfast food and not so much dinner.
The only thing I can recommend getting is their fish noodle Pad Thai.
Happy you guys are able to open post covid restrictions though!
Should be allowed to have lunch menu during brunch hours was disappointed
Great food and service! We will definitely visit again ❤️
The food was amazing! The Korean style friend chicken was super cripsy! Tried the squid ink pasta and that was great too, the sauce added a great texture to it.
The food was ok. The outdoor dining had no shade so we got burnt very quickly
We ordered the pasta & heart attack rice. The fried rice was pretty good, similar to Chinese style fried rice but definitely leans towards a western palate. The portion for the pasta was huge, definitely a shared plate for 2-3 people. Tasted great, the cream wasn’t too heavy or thick (a lot of Asian fusion pasta are very heavy on the sauce to pasta ratio). My friend said it’s similar to the pasta offered by Cafe de l'Orangerie. Their patio is in the back, away from the Main Street so it was quiet. Not a lot of tables, so definitely make a reservation in advance.
The food was creative and interesting, and the value was fair. The waitress was friendly but not entirely "together." We waited for a long while before we got our drinks, which came after the appetizers. We waited another long while for the bill - so long that we decided to go up to the cash register to pay!
Smaller patio but nice space & good service, as well as happy hour.
The uni spaghetti was really good! Enjoyed the seoul-good fried chicken too, the truffle sauce was amazing. Highly recommend it! :D
This restaurant is a huge bonus in times of the current 'circuit breaker' in Vancouver where dine-out is only allowed on patios. The Rise Eatery has a very decent sized patio space and whilst not the most 'elegant' it certainly does the job!
The food was fantastic and my sons (first time there) really enjoyed the meal. This was my 5th time at this restaurant and while I missed the entirety of 2020, I was very happy to return.
Drinks were great! Food is ok. Would Def go back for the drinks.
nice patio restaurant. We had a good brunch experience there
Love this place food and service
My partner and me are going there since two year always excellent
Been there for weekend brunch lunch and diner
First time here at The Rise Eatery and I enjoyed it. I highly recommend the squid pasta which was a big portion and tasty. Loved it. As well, the happy hour is good and recommend the nuggets and the lord of fries.
Excellent brunch on the patio! First visit to this neighbourhood gem but it won’t be my last. Interesting creative menu with flavours that didn’t disappoint! Delicious way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The Rise was great! The food was tasty and innovative. The dessert Ferris wheel was very cool snd a big hit with the whole family. Nice service.
Loved our experience at the Rise! With the new covid restrictions in place, we wanted to find a good patio to go to for my birthday dinner. Thankfully the Rise had a perfect one! The patio is covered and heated, and is small but cute! The cocktails are amazing and so unique, and the food is delicious! They have a lot of gluten free options too which was great since both my husband and I are gf, and the portions are generous! Our server Momo was awesome, and always made sure our drinks were filled and was helpful with his advice on our food choices. Highly recommend giving the Rise a try - I know we'll be back!
It was a lovely brunch with excellent service.
Ordered the Korean chicken and the Squid ink pasta. Both dishes were excellent with a different take on the flavours. Love it.
Fusion brunch is satisfying, well presented. Not much ambience though.
no flavour on most of the things especially the bacon and pork. the tuna in omelet is like from the can. really great ambience but bad taste of food！
Fantastic evening at The Rise Eatery, was able to capitalize on the final weekend of the Dine-Out menu being offered. Family style & sized portions left us full and with left overs for a decadent snack for later on. Initial service was a tad slow initially but due to Covid & staffing it was understandably, but was quickly overshadowed by a fantastic Australian server that was so insightful in regards to their menu. The XO pasta was the highlight of the night as well as some quirky yet refreshing cocktails to start. Overall a phenomenal meal in the South Granville & may seem to get overlooked. 2 people, bottle of wine, 2 cocktails. 155$ before tip
Our servant was excellent! Discreet yet knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and attentive. HIs name is Arturo. Great experience overall!
We went out for Dine Out Vancouver! The food was great and so was the restaurant. Staff are friendly and informative. Will definitely be back!
Service was good. The fried chicken was fantastic, cocktails were good, but the mains were quite bland and dry. Originally went for the dine out, but for 42 pp with only one appy and dessert to share it did not seem worth it so we ordered off the regular menu - glad we did as value was not up to par.
Excellent food ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We attended this restaurant during DineOut Vancouver. Our server appeared young and shy, so did not engage with us in conversation. His description of the dishes was emotionless - just listed some ingredients. The food was average in flavour. I would have expected less saltiness and more aromatic for the price. We ordered dishes that were inspired from a range of countries (Vietnam, Italy, Southern US) but they all tasted the same. It was not bad, just not what I would expect from the caliber of restaurant Rise Eatery aspires to be.
The restaurant has a great ambience and the food was amazing! I would highly recommend it for a semi-formal occasion.
Great service, great food, great decor. It’s a 10/10 for me. I forgot the name of our waitress but she’s a new hire and very personable!
Super creative and unique menu! I've been coming here for over a year some of my favourites are the Hot Chick Ramen, Chicken Seoul Good, and the Heart Attack Rice. Really nice bright space and a lovely patio in the summer
