The Rise Eatery
We enjoyed the outdoor patio. Menu varied and unique - a few select meat, vegan and vegetarian choices. Included small serving of sorbet. Excellent and personable service. We will definitely return.
Very imaginative tasty tapas. Great service. Some dishes were a bit small and over priced for the portions other than that had a great meal.
We had tickets to the Arts Club.
Seating was ready. server was prompt and friendly. Kitchen was slow. Ordered 3 course set meal. We received 2nd course at 7:10. Asked for dessert and bill. Out at 7:20. Very rushed.
Very good food. Innovative, fresh and well cooked. The only disappointment was the heart attack rice which lacked a USP. Chicken Seoul Good, squash dish, pork belly and salad were all fantastic.
Service started well but seemed to evaporate when we wanted the cheque.
Very few diners on a Tuesday evening so it lacked some atmosphere but I expect this would be good at busier times.
Great food, but the place was empty. I wonder why really, the food is amazing there. Different without being just original for the sake of it. SOme daring dishes, other more classic, all very well crafted,
We had 7 dishes all were very good. Highly recommended.
Food was very good, but it took approximately 40 mins before our food came. The service was very good!
Very much enjoyed the overall experience; great asian-fusion twist on their dishes. Service is attentive and all the staff were super-friendly. 5-Stars!!
I would recommend The Rise based on the flavours of a few of the dishes we tried provided there were no other time related commitments. Drink and food service was somewhat slower than other tapas style restaurants but the meals were very nice
It was our first visit to The Rise Eatery. It was wonderful. The Pseudo Crudo was delicious and don’t tell Mary, lamb popsicles were among the best I have ever tasted. My husband’s scallops and his flat iron steak were outstanding. We were served by charming Jaron.it was indeed a memorable experience. We shall return and we shall recommend it to all our friends. It was very reasonably priced and the naming of the dishes on the menu was delightful
Bartender/server was awesome.
Food was reasonably priced.
Food was a bit split - some really awesome dishes and some that were just okay. Outdoor patio was great. I would still go back and try different things. Drinks were also good!
Excellent and creative dishes. Service friendly and prompt. Had mother's day brunch with a group of 5 on the patio. Great place for foodies with interesting twists on brunch/breakfast fare. Would definitely return to try more menu items. Reasonably priced.
The service was exceptional and the food, well the food was freaking spectacular! It was our first time there and we had a 7:30 reso for a Friday night. The place wasn't busy yet so we got to enjoy our meal with a quieter atmosphere. I was surprised that the food came out at perfect times, as most restaurants have food come out too fast or too slow. A must try is the well know Uni-versal pasta, Chicken Seoul Good and surprisingly the Buried Treasure. For someone who's not a fan of vegetables the Miso braised vegetables from the Buried Treasure dish was amazing!
The service was fantastic. Our server made excellent drink and food recommendations. The Uni-versal pasta and the Flank steak was delicious.
Great Asian fusion and very friendly staff. Brunch was delicious!
Went for brunch. Interesting menu. Meals were hit or miss, unfortunately. The salmon on the upstream benny had a canned vibe. Nice space and nice little patio- I would go back for the waffles or try again for lunch or dinner.
Thank you for recent visit. We are sorry to hear you weren’t pleased with your meal and appreciate your feedback. We would like to assure you that the Upstream Maple is made with wild salmon that is cured in-house with maple syrup and then lightly smoked. The salmon is then mixed with lemon zest, fresh dill and cream cheese before being served. We hope you will return in the future to try some of our other items.
The food and service was great
Shot out to our server. He is amazing!
Overall good Brunch place. Would like to come again to try and see all other dishes.
An incredibly good value; we really enjoyed the variety of spices used and the preparation was excellent.
Food and wait staff were amazing, however, the food took way too long to prepare. Kitchen was incredibly slow.
Nice dinner out before a show at the Stanley. Fun to try a mix of things and enjoy a glass of wine. Nice crowd in the place that night and service was friendly and efficient. Discount for Stanley patrons was nice, too. Need to leave room for dessert next time.
Service too slow for theater attendees. We eventually got about 30% of our order with 5 minutes spare to dash. What we got was excellent, but getting the whole meal and having time to enjoy would have been a reasonable expectation. In fairness staff did address our concerns as best they could.
We have eaten here about 5 times. Every time does not disappoint.
We took 3 friends who had their first experience there with us. They enjoyed it as well, which I knew they would.
I inadvertently booked the wrong night but when I called the restaurant to correct it, they were very helpful and accommodating.
One of our favourites in the city.
Overall it was great. Had the Wednesday blues three course set menu. The pasta was especially good, however, the cakes bikes in one of the desserts was dry. Would definitely visit again.
Great place to have brunch! Wonderful service, delicious food, and beautiful ambience! I really enjoyed coming here and will definitely be back :)
If the restaurant can relocate, I’d like to visit more. Outside environment make me feels dangerous at night.
As always, consistently that good! I came for lunch and wondered if I'd be impressed since I had such a great dinner experience. Yes! THAT GOOD!
Most of the dishes were outstanding as was the service and ambiance. Recommended!
We wanted to try something new and had no expectation going in to this place. We were very pleasantly surprised by the whole dining experience.
Drinks: reasonably priced artisan cocktails
Food: generously portioned appetizers which can easily be shared between two people and mains were creatively delicious
Service: attentive, friendly and helpful
Price: very respectable given the quality and portions
We will definitely be back!
Nice decor, great food selection, their drinks are good too!
Love their latte!
Fabulous, fresh with unique flavour combinations food and great service.
My first experience at the Rise was fabulous.
My friend and I were seated in the bar/lounge rather than the dining area. Noise level was minimal and service / food were exceptional.
Second experience— seared in dining area—extremely noisy, hot due to large windows and wonderful sunshine- no blinds. Server was lovely and gave us 20% off due to poor food quality—both meals were lukewarm and we’d waited awhile so ate anyway.
Would try one more time but with scepticism.
Healthy funky food. Respectful and funky staff. Modern decor worked well. I’d go back!
Came here for a birthday dinner. The food was really good! Great for sharing. However, the service was very slow and the food took a long time to come... Otherwise the ambience was nice and I would definitely check out their brunch menu which looks really good as well.
Great tasting food, just like last time. Share plates are just the right size.
Maybe I’m the wrong person to ask because I have yet to dine at a fusion restaurant that I love but I’m an adventurous eater. Our group had some dishes better than others. The biggest problem was the slow service when the server asked us as we sat what time we needed to be finished (as this is in the theatre district and we had a show to attend.) In all, it was fine, but not great.
Absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
Minded style but too noisy, hardly to hear.
