The Rise Eatery
Guests reap the rewards of Executive Chef Dan Leung’s limitless imagination and 15-plus years of cooking experience. The global fusion offerings celebrate the ethnic diversity of Vancouver. We’re one of the few, if not only, places in town where France greets South Korea, Japan meets Italy, and Taiwan welcomes Mexico with open arms on a plate. Crafted with locally sourced ingredients and prepared in a way that’s meant to be shared, our menu encourages an exploration of global tastes, techniques, and cultures. Equally innovative items are served at lunch and creative brunch items are served on Saturdays & Sundays. Dining experiences in our modern, spacious room or on our hidden patio during warmer months are fun without falling lax, sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Careful steps for safe service post-pandemic are also in place.

unlike the other times, we experienced a very poor service last night. the appies and dinner were served and we were still waiting for our happy hour drinks . it was too late.... we had to cancel our order. Appies got there, but we had to wait for the plates and utensils. no ice bucket to keep the white wine cold.
My best friend and I love the food of this restaurant and always celebrate our birthdays there, but last night was a very disappointing service. looks like there was lots of rules change that were not communicated on the restaurant's website.
My boss recommended this place for a nice patio brunch before the end of the summer. I got the Fritter Bacon and the beef bacon was outstanding. Our entire group loved each of our dishes but the bacon was the table favorite! We can’t wait to go back.
Reso for 4:30p.m. on a Sunday. Restaurant was clean & only a couple of other tables. All 3 tables were sat side by side to each other. Tables were not spaced out for social distancing. The next table & ours joked about how they have so many tables yet we were all huddled in one corner. I physically moved our table away. I realized we went during "Happy Hour" & then was told we couldn't order off the lunch/dinner menu. We were hungry & I paid for $6.50 for 1 hr parking underground so we decided to stay. ALL of the Happy menu items were deep fried!!! We ordered fries, corn frittatas, chicken nuggets, spring rolls (that's the whole happy hour menu except for sliders and another deep fried mulitpack). They were not tasty & I was SO TURNED off. NO chance of ordering a salad or any fresh food. I am a fan of Happy Hour but this is the first & LAST time I go to a restaurant that doesn't offer a decent menu for eats or doesn't let you order from the regular menu.
Food was slow to arrive. Even beer and fries took about 15 minutes on an evening that was not busy. And while the menu descriptions sounded promising, some of the ingredient flavours were barely detectable.
A friend and I enjoyed a fabulous brunch at this lovely restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day and sitting outside was even better. I had the delicious Chilaquiles and my friend enjoyed the bacon and eggs platter( can’t recall the name)Judging by the
dishes being served to those around us, I image everything is fantastic.
Thank you to the owners and staff at The Rise for outstanding food and service.
We made reservations for happy hour for my friend's birthday and they give you a free birthday drink!
We went for the famed uni pasta and it did not disappoint!
I’ve been to The Rise for brunch before and the food was very good. So this time I was excited to bring a couple of my friends with me to try this place. However, the eggs benedict with salmon, which was recommended by the waitress, was disappointing. Three out of four of us ordered this dish and none of us were very pleased . We all thought we were eating what distinctly tasted like dry canned salmon. However, the waffle which came as part of the set menu was good and we all agreed on that. I might be willing to try this place again but I definitely wouldn’t order the eggs benedict with salmon.
What a wonderful place! Food is very delicious and super friendly service! 2 thumbs up on everything we tried so far, congee, dan bing-o (tuna), Barack o-lamba , chicken Seoul good , melon dollar antipasto, and shad thai, can’t wait to try everything else!
Excellent service from all the team. Food was great though the Ferris wheel items were a bit less impressive than the rest of the dishes.
Date night? Celebration? Brunch? Happy hour? Just wanted to eat out? Look no further! The Rise is not just another restaurant. It is a dream realized by chef Dan and his wife Wanda. The attention to detail in every dish, the naming of their drinks, and down to the personal touches with the service will surpass whatever your expectations are. For non meat eaters, their vegan items are not a second thought. They are purposefully curated dishes that don't make you feel like you're getting less value. The Rise truly is a gem and I highly recommend you go there and try everything.
Food and ambience - excellent
Service - slow, no check-ins
Excellent place for a meal with friends. Lunch hour nice and quiet.
Good and delicious food on menu. Reasonable prices on everything. Good services.
All their foods surprised me! The fried chicken or the corn fritters tasted amazing. The service were really great too!
My date and I had delicious food prior to our movie
Lovely little outside deck and super friendly staff. Happy hour snacks were delicious. Would love to see more fresh or plant-based options on the HH menu. A great gem in South Granville.
Nice place with little patio at the back. Tasty fusion food with Korean and Mediterranean vibes, good balanced cocktails. Good service in general.
The brunch ramen was delicious. The patio is private and comfortable. Service was great!
We came for brunch and it was great! ... an eclectic menu with something for everyone and the food was delicious.
Cute restaurant! Amazing pasta and chicken!! Lunch sets were a good value and good sized portions.
Service was top notch. Food was delicious and portion was decent for the price.
Excellent patio with lots of shaded areas to relax. Would definitely return for the patio.
Food was very so so. The avocado on my dish spoiled.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Recommend the Seoul chicken, Heart attack fried rice and Lo hay salad.
New staff are not yet comfortable in their rolls. Our server asked to have plates passed to her rather than walk around and pick them up herself. Needs a little more experience and guidance, I guess.
nice place with nice food and nice patio！ love it，
This is one of my favourite place to brunch. Great food, and great staff.
Some of the best fusion we’ve found in Vancouver! The Seoul Good is a MUST try as are their various, gorgeous cocktails. We left so full and so satisfied.
Their newly done-up patio is also commendable: it’s at the back of the restaurant, therefore away from street traffic and offers a more private ambience.
Our server was also a delight and happily took photos of my husband and I. 11/10 would recommend all around.
I just love the combinations of flavors, a very unique dining experience.
Bravo chef Dan, exquisite as always.
We sat on the patio and the service was very slow since the wait staff didn’t come out very often. The food was alright.
Food is good, unique, and affordable. Staff were also nice and friendly. We did wait a bit for our food but they were apologetic about it. I guess it’s because it is the first week after the BC circuit breaker ended so they were still adjusting.
After seeing their food all over instagram, we thought we would give Rise a go. Some of the waitstaff seems rather new. Upon arrival, it seems like the table originally reserved for my party was given to someone else. I was lead to my table to wait for the rest of my party. No water was offered no menu was brought to the table. It wasn't until my friends arrive did the waitress bring over a bottle of water and 3 cups.... 5 minutes later, she came back to take our order, however, no menu was provided to us. It wasn't until then that she explained that the little business card that was at the end of the table, when you flip it over, were QR codes that you can scan to get the menu. Throughout the 3 hours we were there, there were 3 different 'crashes' that were heard.
We ordered 3 appetizers to share - they all came at different times which was appreciated. The share plates weren't taken away after the appies were done, and when the 3 mains we ordered also came at different times, we ended up having to eat them as "shared mains" rather than our own individual main course. We ordered their farris wheel dessert, and we didn't feel it was worth the money spent on that. It felt like a modge podge of random premade/store-bought frozen dessert that as put on a little ferris wheel and you paid for the presentation. The 'beignet' that was on the wheel had the texture of a stale donut rather than a freshly fried beignet.
I have to say it was disappointing after hearing good reviews from other friends. Mind you they did say they weren't for their breakfast food and not so much dinner.
The only thing I can recommend getting is their fish noodle Pad Thai.
Happy you guys are able to open post covid restrictions though!
Should be allowed to have lunch menu during brunch hours was disappointed
Great food and service! We will definitely visit again ❤️
The food was amazing! The Korean style friend chicken was super cripsy! Tried the squid ink pasta and that was great too, the sauce added a great texture to it.
The food was ok. The outdoor dining had no shade so we got burnt very quickly
We ordered the pasta & heart attack rice. The fried rice was pretty good, similar to Chinese style fried rice but definitely leans towards a western palate. The portion for the pasta was huge, definitely a shared plate for 2-3 people. Tasted great, the cream wasn’t too heavy or thick (a lot of Asian fusion pasta are very heavy on the sauce to pasta ratio). My friend said it’s similar to the pasta offered by Cafe de l'Orangerie. Their patio is in the back, away from the Main Street so it was quiet. Not a lot of tables, so definitely make a reservation in advance.
The food was creative and interesting, and the value was fair. The waitress was friendly but not entirely "together." We waited for a long while before we got our drinks, which came after the appetizers. We waited another long while for the bill - so long that we decided to go up to the cash register to pay!
