   Nice small restaurant, the food was ok but was nothing special. The desserts were disappointing.

   Nice, friendly staff. Food was mixed. Some dishes were good, others tasteless. We had a nice time regardless.

   Great little place to eat or just enjoy a glass. We had a wonderful meal, my hubby opted for a ribeye steak and I chose 3 small plates; crab bisque, scallops with smoked apple and caponata with polenta crisp. Delicious.

   Avevamo prenotato per la sera di Pasqua per 8 ore 20.30 tramite TripAdvisor con conferma ricevuta per e.mail; alle 20.25 siamo arrivati al ristorante e alla richiesta del tavolo una operatrice ha detto “oh my gosh!” ... ha chiamato il responsabile è costui ci ha comunicato che i tavoli erano tutti occupati. Abbiamo mostrato la conferma di prenotazione e ci ha detto di andare verso il fiume dove avremmo potuto trovare altri ristoranti. Abbiamo cercato di insistere, ma faceva finta di far altro. Sul fiume c’erano altri ristoranti, ma anch’essi pieni a causa del giorno festivo. Gestore maleducato e senza professionalità ... quindi non consiglierei a nessuno questo ristorante!!!

   We apologise for your experience, let us explain. On this evening we were 75% booked so let OpenTable to take bookings. At 7pm we received a lot of "walk-in" trade and the restaurant became busy to the point of standing room only, and the staff didn't get an opportunity to block incoming reservations from OpenTable. Your booking came through quite late into service, giving us no time to cancel it. We explained the situation to you, apologised and suggested other potential restaurants.

   To be fair we have visited The Ring O'Bells twice whilst staying in Bath. Our first visit in 2018 was great but sadly last week was not so good. Although the food was great we were told when booking that it was Bath Comedy Week and people may be in and out of the restaurant from the upstairs room where the entertainment was. I thought it would be ok but my advice is don't book that week as you will not get the real ambience of the place. The door kept jamming open as folk went in and out all night and people were smoking in the doorway, so we were both cold and I had to keep getting up to close the door. We eventually grabbed our plates and drinks and moved to another table but even then it wasnt great. May be a good idea to close the restaurant during comedy week as I had no idea how much it would spoil the dining experience for us and as it was a special treat and cost around £80 for my daughter and me I was really disappointed.

   Ups and downs. Down was an early booking in empty restaurant yet we were sat beside a very noisy family with disruptive kiddies. Also there was a serious cold draft from a cupboard or stairwell beside me. The restaurant is nicely styled with very comfortable chairs. I love the small plates idea, the goats cheese semifreddo with beetroot was inspired, not so sure about the pigeon pastrami. The fish chowder had flavour but a watery consistency. We had a pleasant evening and staff were friendly. The manager had not see Open Table cheques before but kindly accepted mine.
