No coffee of any kind on a Sunday Brunch. Even tough they said the machines were broken they should of made other provisions.

Why do such nice places have terrible waitstaff?
We had a reservation, expecting to be seated outside and when we got there, they told us we would be inside which I was not comfortable with and there were tons of availability outside but we were a slightly larger party, 6 of us. After much to do and us almost leaving, they seated us outside. Honestly the tables inside where they were seating people was very close and not spaced out well considering how much room they have in the restaurant. They need to space the tables out more, not a good set up.
So glad they have reopened, it was great to dine there again. Staff could not have been more attentive. Food was on par with their normal great product.
We always enjoy the fried chicken. Also the prime rib dip sandwich was yummy. This is a good restaurant for a basic, no frills meal in a nice environment.

Quiet lunch for four went on for couple of hours. Food excellent, wait staff friendly,inexplicable long wait for main course, nicely priced two course lunch included burger, veggie, gluten free choices. Would definitely go back for lunch. Dinner likely to be noisy in such a large open space.
We had been to Ribbon once before for brunch, and the second time did not disappoint. The Bloody Mary is a must if you’re looking to start a weekend day off right and aren’t driving or working. The buffalo cauliflower is killer as well. Votes for the Challa French toast, corned beef hash (mixed with beans, sausage, kale and potatoes with poached eggs), mushroom burger and breakfast sandwich. The stringy fries are crisp and slightly salty. Comfortable and big space and great service. Definite return business here.
Service was very poor. It took a long time for our food to come (3 hamburgers!) Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time. Instead of being a 1 hour lunch it was more of a 2 hour lunch.
Server was friendly and helpful re recommendations, but we were presented with the bill as soon as our entrees were removed. Our server never asked if we wanted dessert or more coffee. The place was busy but there were empty tables, so it was not as if they needed the table urgently. The food was very good - well-presented with decent size portions. Overall, a god place for a meal in the neighborhood
Service was atrocious! It was as if we were bothering the server each time we asked for something. We had to ask if there were specials, we had to ask him to take our drink order after being seated for 20 minutes. Not sure what has happened there, but it has gone way down hill. Probably the last time we will be there. Thanks.

Basically lied to by the waitress ! Informed if I wanted to order the fried chicken there were only two orders left at 7:30??
I had planned on a leisurely dinner with an appetizer so this was a bit odd? Also I was informed the chicken came with my choice of side and then I was charged for the side. Never did this waitress check back with me in fact she went home? So the food runners were at least kind enough to get me another glass of wine which was not Chardonnay and charged for that also! Did take it up with the manger who was just very smirky! Won’t return!
One of our favorite neighborhood places. Fabulous burgers, generous drinks, delicious salads, great bar food, intelligent and hip wait staff. Never had a bad meal here. Prices similar to UWS nice restos. Come by here and sit a spell, as they say in the south.
We were seated next to a table of six people who were screaming. We asked to be moved.
When we were seated, the waiter couldn't remember which wine glass was which between me and my friend. He didn't offer to get new glasses. The food was fine. THen it took forever to get a waiter's attention to get the check. Felt like a college place.
The food is good but ridiculously overpriced for what u get in this enlarged bar/restaurant.
The noise level is deafening.
We have been here several times because it is convenient for us.
Comfortable atmosphere, great food and great service
My boyfriend and I went to The Ribbon for Valentine’s Day and we both agreed that this might have been one of our favorite meals in the city. We started with the shrimp cocktail and escargot (the escargot is a must!) and then we split the 20oz porterhouse steak and frites with a side of grilled asparagus. We cleaned every plate and had just enough room for dessert and still left satisfied without feeling miserably stuffed. Our server Michael had great recommendations and was quick to fill our wine glasses, which is always a plus! Thanks to all the staff for making this night so special for us!
Always amazing food and the staff is awesome
Very good. Butcher's salad yummy with a lot of meat. Acorn squash tagine good but not great. Rocky road dessert quite good, but overpriced.
We were ignored after being given water, despite being almost empty at 6pm.
My butchers salad of grilled meats was only bacon and pork belly.
The Fried Chicken is perfect. Be aware of what days / times it is not offered. Also excellent are the spare ribs. Great vibe.

We ordered the burgers after reading good reviews. They were really juicy and delicious as were the fries.
Very cool looking place, brick walls, candles, etc. The menu please meat eaters and vegans with a very good variety of foods. All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals. Everything was prepared above our expectations - especially the tofu with broccolini! Also, the fried chicken was a standout during Happy Hour! Good Happy Hour drink deals!

They were marked as participating in Restaurant Week on Sunday evenings. When we arrived and didn’t receive the RW menu (not unusual as many restaurants “hide” it), we asked and the waiter gave a garbled response that sounded like an extemporaneous rationalization. We checked again; the asterisk is there next to their restaurant. Look, don’t participate if (a) you’re gonna play these foolish games and (b) you’re gonna engage in class-shaming anyone who requests the menu. New York restaurants ought to wake to the growing pressures on those of us who actually work and live to make the city function. If not, we will settle on eating the rich.
The shrimp and lobster curry was amazing, the hanger steak could have had more seasoning but was still good. A little disappointed they didnt have chicken fingers and fries for my 2 year old but she ate spaghetti just fine.
We went for the first time during restaurant week, and unlike the situation with some restaurants, the choices were varied and the portions plentiful. The chicken was delicious, as were the salad and roasted vegetable appetizers. The bread pudding dessert was outstanding. Our server was helpful and attentive. My only complaint is that the bus crew incessantly circled the table while we were eating, seeking to grab our plates even when we were in the middle of a course. Also, the kitchen sent the main course out too quickly, making us feel rushed, even though it was early (pre-theater) and the restaurant was half-empty. The location is close enough to Lincoln Center to be an easy walk for a performance, but far enough away to be more of a neighborhood spot, and not a tourist trap.
Have eaten there several times, and am always pleased. The food, both brunch and dinner menu, is hearty and flavorful.
Food was very tasty as was wine. Burgers very good. Front desk is a mess, about 5 people running it and no one knew what was going on but all remained oddly confident. Then we were seated next to a table that decided to spread out,(seats in middle of aisle, yelling across tables at one another) and every time a wait staff had to get around them, they bumped the back of my friend's chair, yet no one bothered to try and corral them in, and this was the dining area! Waitress was extremely professional and very adept at maneuvering the situation she was left in. She should be running the place.
I was sad that this was not as good as I hoped. The food was just not that good, and we ordered what the waitress said was "outstanding". We got the vegetable risotto, quinoa tangine, and fried chicken sandwich. Nothing was great, and sort of wish we didn't come here. I've lived in NYC for 8 years so I am spoiled with good food, but still didn't think it was good. Sad because the restaurant is so beautiful and cozy.

The waiter did not seem to know what he was doing. He rushed us in a restaurant that was empty on a Monday night. The bus boys kept trying to deliver food to our table that had not been ordered by us. And there were charges for items not ordered on the final bill.
In addition, for such a casual restaurant, prices are high. The fried chicken is $25.00 and does not come with any sides. A side of mashed potatoes is $11.00, which brings the chicken cost up to $36.00. Very pricey for pub food.
Although we were recommended to this restaurant it just was not my cup of tea. In all fairness it was a packed house on a Saturday night. We were seated right away with our reservation. Mainly the service was just average. Our waiter had a lot to attend to with some large parties. My niece enjoyed her flatbread very much but my fried chicken sandwich was somewhat overcooked and tough. Also the price of a glass of house white wine was a bit much, and I am a native New Yorker so very aware of pricing. In general just a mediocre experience.
