Our dinners were exceptional. The lobster and shrimp curry dish was perfect, the oysters were perfect and the braised short ribs were...perfect. First time back since the pandemic started and now that the city is rebooting, I will be resuming enjoying this spot. Excellent!
Poor service. Cold food. Not an enjoyable experience. Ribbon was the last restaurant I went to just before Covid, and it was great—service, food, ambiance. Now one of the first I’ve been to post Covid and they have not adopted well. I hope they can turn things around since this used to be a regular favorite.
For the second year in a row, Passover was saved by The Ribbon. Their service and quality always remind us why it is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC!
The Ribbon always delivers delicious food and excellent service.
thank you for supporting your local business
My friend and I were greeted with excellent service and the food was superb. They have the best Fried Chicken around. The Oysters that my friend ordered looked great!
Joel we share the same love for fried chicken, thank you for supporting your local business!
Service and food were excellent. Wine choices by the glass were very good. Outdoor area is quite pleasant.
Miss eating at the bar..... looking forward to all restaurants being able to serve at the bar again.
The Ribbon is one of my favorite places in NYC and as it’s 2 blocks from my apt, it is my go-to not just for a meal but also when getting together with friends. The food is consistently top quality, the ambience is great, and usually the service is very good. Unfortunately, this past Sunday, I brought 4 friends for a late brunch (2pm), and the service was definitely not up to their usual standards. And considering how long it’s been since we’ve all had a chance to dine out together, I think that’s inexcusable. We ordered tons of food and drinks - plates for the table, apps, mains, and we would have ordered dessert (in fact one of my friends couldn’t wait to try the sticky toffee pudding and was talking about it before we even arrived) but the waiter failed to tell us the kitchen was closing. He did tell us it would be last call for the bar because they close between their brunch shift and dinner shift. So, Before 4pm, the music had been shut off, we were given our check, and it was clear it was time to go. After waiting 20 min for drinks to start with, given the wrong bottle of champagne, and various other small mistakes that on their own wouldn’t be worth a complaint, for a $585 bill, I felt like it was worth responding to the request for feedback. Service always matters, but especially when it’s your first reservation out with your friends in a year, and when you’re spending that kind of money. I’ll be sure not to dine in that time frame again!
Great for a girls dinner! Inside but totally safe and clean everyone masked will be back!
Amazing, as always!
The buffalo cauliflowers are always a hit.
The burger was so delicious.
Fried chicken was super crispy.
Great IPA and Margaritas!
Thank you for the kind words and for supporting your local restaurant.
It was a depressing dinner. It was also very safe. The restaurant looked closed. It was as if we were there after hours and not at 6pm.
Very nice decor, great service, great food. Went here for Valentine’s Day and unexpectedly there was live music (singer and pianist) which was awesome. Very classy overall.
Thank you for supporting your local restaurant.
Service was great, food was good although portions are small. Skip dessert.
Lovely experience.

Wonderful experience at The Ribbon as usual. My pumpkin soup, scallops and mashed potatoes were all delicious. And the chocolate chip bread pudding was just heavenly. The tables were nicely spread out so I felt very safe. The servers were most attentive and professional. Great dining option near Central Park West.
Thank you for supporting your local business during these tough times.
I had reserved through Open Table and noted it was a date and would like a table that was private, but we were seated near the waiter station. Not a huge issue, but would have enjoyed our time better had they saved a table in a more private corner. Otherwise, the food, the service, everything was great.
Frank, we greatly appreciate your feedback. We apologize for the miscommunication in regards to your table choice you received while dining with us. We would love to invite you back to give us a second chance. Thank you for supporting your local business during these tough times.
Great place

James is the best host ever. He always makes you feel so welcome. Thank you for answering my 5 phone calls and questions about our booking and for accommodating our group. The brunch is spectacular!
We are so glad to hear you had a great time dining with us. Thank you for supporting your local business during these tough times.

We were rushed from the minute we arrived. We were told the kitchen was closing so we ordered. Then we were told it was last call and had to order our last drinks. There were literally two parties in the entire restaurant and although I understand COViD has new restrictions I’ve never been somewhere during this time that pushed us out so fast. When we left and were passing by restaurants people were still sitting outside. I didn’t realize The Ribbon closed at 10. If this is the case it should be stated on the website. It felt like they just wanted to go home early.
Limited really overpriced menu and an overworked staff. As a local I wouldn’t go back.
Ribbon is always a good place for a reliable food and cocktails. Their Octoberfest menu additions were really good. I definitely miss the ambience of the pre-COVID days, but not their fault. They have nice seating outside, and we felt fine sitting indoors, where we didn't have anyone even remotely close to us. It will always be one of our favorites.
Elizabeth, we cant wait to return to our pre-covid ambience either. Thank you for supporting your local business.
Service wasn’t great
No coffee of any kind on a Sunday Brunch. Even tough they said the machines were broken they should of made other provisions.
Food as always was amazing. Handled social distancing and Covid-19 practices very well.

You’d think after everything that’s happened, service at a nice place would be great.
Think again. It’s gotten worse.
Our server was diner quality. Ready to take our order right away.
Dining at the Ribbon was like paying $120 for a mediocre hotel room.
Sorry to say I WONT be coming back.
Why do such nice places have terrible waitstaff?
We had a reservation, expecting to be seated outside and when we got there, they told us we would be inside which I was not comfortable with and there were tons of availability outside but we were a slightly larger party, 6 of us. After much to do and us almost leaving, they seated us outside. Honestly the tables inside where they were seating people was very close and not spaced out well considering how much room they have in the restaurant. They need to space the tables out more, not a good set up.
So glad they have reopened, it was great to dine there again. Staff could not have been more attentive. Food was on par with their normal great product.
We always enjoy the fried chicken. Also the prime rib dip sandwich was yummy. This is a good restaurant for a basic, no frills meal in a nice environment.
IT GAVE ME A TABLE SENT ME CONFIRMATION 2x BUT WAS CLOSED
The staff were so nice and accommodating. The food and drinks were excellent!
Quiet lunch for four went on for couple of hours. Food excellent, wait staff friendly, inexplicable long wait for main course, nicely priced two course lunch included burger, veggie, gluten free choices. Would definitely go back for lunch. Dinner likely to be noisy in such a large open space.
We had been to Ribbon once before for brunch, and the second time did not disappoint. The Bloody Mary is a must if you’re looking to start a weekend day off right and aren’t driving or working. The buffalo cauliflower is killer as well. Votes for the Challa French toast, corned beef hash (mixed with beans, sausage, kale and potatoes with poached eggs), mushroom burger and breakfast sandwich. The stringy fries are crisp and slightly salty. Comfortable and big space and great service. Definite return business here.
Service was very poor. It took a long time for our food to come (3 hamburgers!) Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time. Instead of being a 1 hour lunch it was more of a 2 hour lunch.
Server was friendly and helpful re recommendations, but we were presented with the bill as soon as our entrees were removed. Our server never asked if we wanted dessert or more coffee. The place was busy but there were empty tables, so it was not as if they needed the table urgently. The food was very good - well-presented with decent size portions. Overall, a god place for a meal in the neighborhood
Service was atrocious! It was as if we were bothering the server each time we asked for something. We had to ask if there were specials, we had to ask him to take our drink order after being seated for 20 minutes. Not sure what has happened there, but it has gone way down hill. Probably the last time we will be there. Thanks.
Disappointed that happy hour was not served outside of the bar area and no one told us
