Lazy Sunday after thanksgiving brunch with the family was a great time. The food was really solid. Fried chicken was really good but wish it comes with something else other than honey on the side. Good think we ordered the spaetzle. Not sure if I’ve ever had spaetzle but the kids loved it. My wife’s prime rib dip was amazing. And their French fries are really really good.
Have to see what weekend dinners and crowd looks like.
I loved this restaurant. A bit of an UWS sleeper, it pleasantly surprised us in every way. You definitely should visit if you live near by or are visiting!
The Ribbon was enjoyed by four generations of our family. We were lucky to score a reservation on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The food, as always was great. They had a high chair for the newest family member. Service was friendly and helpful
A real neighborhood gem.
My family of four have been supporting our neighborhood for some time. Thanksgiving is always a busy time of year. That said, when we were seated, the staff who delivered our high chairs gave us plenty of attitude. Servers didn’t check up very much.
One silver lining was the busting staff were friendly.
There are many options on the uws, perhaps it’s time to support others.
Great thanksgiving experience! The food was delicious and great value for the price! The restaurant atmosphere was festive and cozy, perfect for a holiday meal
we had a problem at the midtown location some months ago and wrote a review here---management promptly responded with an apology and an offer to have drinks on the house the next time were there. I explained that we dine at the uptown location from time to time but probably would not get to midtown anytime soon---the response---no worries---just show this email to the uptown team the next time you're there and they will take care of you. And so they did---plus the manager sent over a comp dessert. She could not have been more professional or gracious. Now---do you think we're coming back again soon?? For sure---many thanks---that's what i call excellent service!
We had great service by the best waiter in NYC!
Food was terrific, perfect for Sunday brunch. The fried chicken sandwich was terrific. Service was great, many great options on the menu, and comfortable ambiance. Only negative is it's fairly expensive for a relatively casual dining spot.
We are here several times a month! LOVE the grilled 🥑 avocado. It’s a simple and delicious party in your mouth! The ribs are delicious, and to corn bread that comes with them is a Star too. Ha ent had a bad salad yet, and don’t think I will! The rotisserie chicken soup is hearty enough as a meal on a cool night.
I have been to the Ribbon UWS several times and was disappointed with this visit. We were seated at a table up against the wall...very cramped. The server was not very helpful regarding my non- gluten and non- dairy needs. My companion was delivered the wrong and then the wrong the sandwich. She was told there was no whipped cream, when it was very obvious that other diners were served it. I hope this was just an off day.
I love The Ribbon for breakfast and lunch and we go all the time. Breakfast was mediocre at best and our server was also mediocre. I was disappointed because I would put it as one of my favorite places and do having such a disappointing breakfast was completely disappointing.
Had a pretty much perfect slab of prime rib, and they know how to pour a proper cocktail.
We love this place. Good food and drinks. Sometimes it gets noisy but the other night it was perfect.
Second time at your place, both experiences were positive. On my last visit, brunch on a Sunday, two things took us back a bit. The breakfast sandwich and the baked eggs. With the breakfast sandwich, the way it reads on the menu is not what is expected when it arrives. When it arrived, it was more of a burger style. It reads more like a sandwich, like a club style, fresh and assembled. The baked eggs were odd. It was a stew like and very dry with two eggs on top, not necessary baked into the dish. It was very hearty and did not compliment the delicate eggs well. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious and we enjoyed it. We were just confused when the food arrived. For the breakfast sandwich, there was another guest at the bar that we observed, she reacted the same way we did.
We just had brunch at The Ribbon. The atmosphere was very welcoming and roomy, a nice change for the usually tightly packed Manhattan restaurants. I had the cheddar chive pancakes with fried chicken on top. It was delicious and a nice combination of their hot sauce with the sweet maple syrup. This was a very creative dish! Other egg dishes looked really nice! Our server could have been a little more attentive but she was pleasant enough. All in all, a fine restaurant that we will try again!!
Enjoyed catching up with friends over brunch at The Ribbon.
We had a great table in the front window, we did have trouble reading the menu in the dark corner & had to wait for a while before we ordered a drink. Food was excellent ! Great location for my out of town guests !!
Wonderful service, absolutely delicious Blue Ribbon menu
Excellent choice on the UWS. Great cocktails
Service was noteworthy. Out waiter was amazing. Food was consistently delicious.
Good food. Very noisy. Small table for 2
Large space is noisy in the front, but more human noise level in the back. Service was attentive up through getting food and one check after being served. Took a while to find waiter for check at end. Menu is varied and imaginative and food hearty and delicious.
Excellent fried chicken, burgers, killer happy hour oyster deals & cocktails. Fun vibe too!
Not cheap - but always a good meal with a nice neighborhood vibe
Painfully loud. Painfully slow. Good food. Nothing special.
All good, but I always get annoyed when a waiter puts down the check before I ask for it.
Chose the Ribbon for a special visit from a out of town friend. Very disappointed with service. Just couldn’t seem to get the attention of our server when we needed him. It was not the usual good service. Maybe just a one off?
A favorite place in the neighborhood to eat - feels both special and reliable.
Service experience from the front door to our waiter was very good , especially at the table after telling our waiter that we had a show to catch and that we were short on time .
Food was outstanding!
Food was excellent. Service was average. Noise was loud
This was a great stop for happy hour apps and drinks.
Wonderful Octoberfest pork special for two for $49. Front of restaurant is loud, but we asked for a quiet table and got one in the back of restaurant. We will return.
The food was good , but starting from the moment we walked in , the host and the servers were not very helpful and professional . They really have to improve on the service .
Great neighborhood pub, delicious food
Great food and service!
Love this place!! The fried chicken and butter leaf salad were amazing! Very friendly staff.
This place was fun w/good energy and had really good drinks and appetizers! I absolutely recommend the deviled eggs & the flat bread! And I loved their drink, the Dotty.
Very much enjoyed the entire experience. Classic American fare with a few interesting international twists. Great atmosphere, if a bit noisy. Friendly staff.
Fun large sports bar vibe with some tables great food!
Went at lunch for the raw bar. Only a few people there so very quiet. At dinner, it's very noisy to be aware. Anyway, clams and oysters were very good.
