Awesome experience for a pre-theatre meal.
Very good restaurant for pre-theater. Staff was very attentive and the food was excellent.
We had a pre-theatre dinner so it was understandably busy and noisy but the service was good. We split the steak tartare appetizer. Yummy and plenty for 2. Beware of the egg on the top. My husband cut into it and he squirted on his jacket. (Guess he should have read the menu because he thought it was potato. ) We split the cavatelli which was very tasty and plenty. The kitchen split it for us at no extra charge.
When we went to dinner they were closed. That person said they called open table to tell them they we’re closed . When I made reservations on open table there was clearly reservation available
We came for breakfast at 11:00AM. Restaurant was almost empty. It took more than forty minutes for the food to come. I ordered eggs sunny side up-they came turned over. Other dishes were quite good. They comped us 25%!
Surprisingly empty for a Saturday night in Times Square however, the food and service were great!!
A little bit pricey but I guess that's Times Square for you. Known for their fried chicken, most of the table ordered that. The Amish chicken was my choice which was really good.
Great friendly atmosphere and the food was perfect. The staff were great and made a point to ensure that our meals and service were on point during each course. Well worth a visit.
Good food, friendly staff, and good service!
Beer hall smell when you first walk into establishment; fortunately, smell is significantly diminished in dining area, up in back.
Convenient to Theater District.
Also, a little crazy that $27+ entrees do not come with any sides, which can be purchased for $11 / side, quickly pushing entrees into $38-$60 range.
I can think of a lot of other places I’d rather eat in Manhattan for those prices, where most expensive, better entrees come with a side for less.
It was our first time at The Ribbon and we will definitely be back again. We had a party of 7 and we were seated upstairs in a quiet area. It was perfect for our group. Our waitress took great care of us, as did her helpers. The food was delicious- we all got different items and we were all pleased. From appetizers to dessert and coffee we were more than satisfied.
Friends in town
Fabulous Food, Fabulous wait staff. We all tried various main courses - all 8 of us completely finished our entire meals. Deserts were worth every bite!
Large rear area of restaurant has lots of charm -booths and tables and decor recreating the atmosphere of the 1940s/upgraded-It works !! Had an early lunch reservation so it was quiet and service friendly and professional.Burgers and French fries were excellent Would definitely recommend to friends 💕
Loved everything about this restaurant except for the very steep prices...charging $14 for one egg in the deviled egg order is just way too much...need to re-evaluate the pricing or quantity of food if they can afford it with Times Square rents
Pre-theatre - ideal spot directly opposite the Shubert Very convenient!
Great food and service. Perfect for pre- theatre.
What a treat to be here for the second time in the last three months. And this was a pre-theater lunch - really good burgers, salads and pasta, followed by delicious desserts. Excellent service, and the location couldn’t be better. Really worth a visit.
Afternoon matinee at the Schubert that began at 1:00. Reservation for 11:30 lunch! Great everything. Loved it! Take a break from Sardi’s. You won’t be disappointed.
Amazing experience, we loved everything we got! Great three course meal options and great ambiance
Perfect for dinner before a show. Great choices on the pre- fixe menu.
Delicious, charming and excellent service. Was excited to see this was as good as the UWS location. Went here before broadway show and had a blast at both.
Great, wonderful waitstaff
Great place especially for a Pre theater lunch or dinner. Something for everyone! I would definitely recommend!
Very attentive service. The food was very good. The portions were small.
Wonderful place and an excellent services!! It’s a new place but I am sure will be one of best of Times Square!!
Took a risk by going to a Times Square restaurant but the ratings were good and very near to our Bway show at the Hayes theater. The ratings were spot on as the food was delicious and the wine options were numerous, eclectic and appropriately priced. The restaurant space and decor was very nice and the service was just so-so. We will definitely come back here as most of the food in the theater district is crap and way over-priced, so this restaurant is a true hidden gem. Bravo Ribbon!
The service was awesome, food very hot, service with a smile, very accommodating, close to Schubert Theater. Cocktails great. Manager that day was awesome, Came to our table asking how we like our food very friendly. They care a lot about the customer.
I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. I have been going to the Blue Ribbon family of restaurants for years. This one is a poor step kid. I know it is in the theater district, but it felt as if I had mistakenly walked into Bubba Gumps. It was loud with no ambiance, whatsoever.
The food was bordering awful. The hamburger was beige... Enough said. The shrimp cocktails looked like they came out of a can, and tasted that way too. I do not know what happened to the Brothers, but this place was definitely not up to their standards. I was really upset that it was so bad when I had really looked forward to the meal.
We had tickets for the Helen Hayes, just a few doors west . Hostess was very pleasant and professional, she easily accessed our OPEN TABLE reservation. We were seated quickly and our friendly waiter "Abbi" took our drink order almost immediately. We were seated at 6:25, drinks were served and we mentioned our 7:30 curtain. We both happened to order the Steak Tartar, the portions were more than adequate for pre-theater. Tartar was plated with toasted country bread, and a jullian of vegetables vinagarete. Everything was delicious, really, really good.I loved, enjoyed the ample pile of capers on side of plate. We were all paid and on our way by 7:15 . GREAT EXPERIENCE will remember WILL RECOMMEND. "What The Constitution Means To Me" was excellent,EXCELLENT ! ! !
We ate at the bar, and Kevin, the bartender, created a cucumber basil cocktail that was PERFECT! Great place to eat before a show!
The waitstaff did not heed the warning that the customer had a gluten allergy and the hors d’oeuvre came with bread. Also no almond milk for the customer with milk allergy.
Had lunch before a theater matinee. The food and service were all excellent. Reasonable prices (considering location).
Great ribs and fried chicken. Wife said salmon was great too.
Very large space for a midtown restaurant, and it seems to be new. Ambience is faux old-timey with old pictures of Times Square, etc. Food was very good with nice portion sizes. Drawing paper and crayons for the grandkids, which was a definite plus. Service was pleasant but very slow, considering we were practically the only customers.
Great pre theater
I booked this restaurant because of it's proximity to the theater but it was very ordinary and actually overpriced for what it was. Our server was lovely and did everything right but the food was pretty bad and the atmosphere has the manufactured feel of a chair restaurant - which I HATE.
All in all it served it's purpose but I would never go back and I would not recommend it.
The lamb chops and the salmon entrees were both delicious. We also enjoyed the fingerling potatoes. Sorbet and ice cream for dessert. Pricey but good. It was Mom’s birthday and she was treated to a sparkly candle and a “Happy Birthday”. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely visit again.
The location was perfect, right across the street from the theater. Our waiter was more than helpful and knew the menu. He made some great recommendations. There is a prix fixe menu which can easily be shared.
Great restaurant gem I. Times square
Nice atmosphere. Decent food but seriously overpriced for what you get. Can’t imagine it catching on.
Good limited menu. Easy and nice just out of town Portland experience. Highly recommend
