Ribaut Social Club is a restaurant and social space for Beaufort locals and visitors to mingle over cocktails and impeccable regional cuisine.
Our aim is to capture the incorrigible spirit and convivial atmosphere of the original Ribaut Club, established at the Anchorage in 1891. In its heyday, the Club hosted performances, grand parties, dances and even gambling—a raucous getaway from buttoned-up social strictures of the time. Today, guests can cocktails and dinner with unrivaled water views or a sophisticated brunch surrounded by 300 years of Beaufort history.

Romantic front porch dining, definitely worth doing. Enjoyable. Food really good for us. Service crawlingly slow. The staff were fantastic, there just were not enough of them. It seemed to be the kitchen, not the wait staff dragging it down though.

We visited the Ribaut in 2022 and in 2023 and absolutely loved it. We came into town to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and made reservations over a month prior and were really looking forward to celebrating it at the Ribaut since we had great experiences the last 2 times. We had heard there was a new chef, which made us a little nervous but we tried it anyway. The tag-team wait staff were not on the same page and we had to repeat our orders a few times. Service was slow. The crab cakes we had were bland and underwhelming. My husband’s filet came out medium (when we had ordered it to be medium rare and even mentioned that he likes it more on the rare side) so they took it back. I ordered the octopus risotto and was sadly disappointed in how overcooked, tough and chewy the octopus came out and the rest of the dish lacking flavor. There was about 20 minutes from the time they took his steak until we finally got someone to come to our table to ask if we needed anything, although they went to check on every other table except for ours. My husband went back to see why and they were going to offer us more complementary wine but we refused. When they finally brought the second steak out, it was dry and over salted. We didn’t even want to try desert because everything else had already been a disappointment. We ended up paying almost $200 for a less than subpar meal. I used to recommend this place to everyone but now I’m sad to say that it has changed for the worse.

The front of the house does not equal the back of the house. Service was Cavalier and wait staff was slow (15 minutes to get wine refill, and some bread). The wait staff was dressed like they should be stocking shelves at Walmart. The kitchen deserves far better in the front. Thank you

The Ribaut Social Club never disappoints! It’s a very excellent choice for a celebration with friends, or a quiet dinner date. Their chef is always creating something special for dinner!

The Ribaut Social Club is a stellar restaurant! The ambiance and view from the porch is incredible. The service is top notch, professional and incredibly knowledgeable. The food is out of this world delicious! Flavors are well integrated and presentation is impeccable! This is a do not miss if you’re a foodie visiting or living in the Beaufort area.

Sat out on the porch, nice views, there were two other couples outside and two couples inside, so the restaurant was certainly not crowded. Waited way too long for a wine refill and the entries, though very tasteful took way longer than usual. Crossing off our list.

Everything about this place is so darn wonderful, the building is just stunning, inside and out. Gentile, attentive service, fantastic food.

Had dinner outside on porch with a beautiful breeze and sunset both apps and dinners outstanding, the mahi on lobster risotto was unbelievable with as much lobster as fish. The wine list great the SA Chenin Blanc perfect.
