Walnut Hill College distinguishes itself from other hospitality schools with its four on-campus restaurants, which are open to the public.
In each of our restaurants, ambiance and cuisine collide to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience that guests won’t soon forget. From our classic International Bistro to our modern Great Chefs room, guests can explore diverse menus and receive exceptional food and service—all provided by our students. Our resident sommelier has also carefully curated a wine list that has won The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year for over a decade. Private Party Facilities:
Many of our dining rooms provide the perfect atmosphere for private parties. Our Italian Trattoria can seat up to 24, while our Great Chefs room can seat up to 34 (in 2 adjoining dining rooms). We also offer private dining menus unique to our guests' specifications. A popular example is the exciting "Menu Degustation," our Chef de Cuisine's special tasting menu that consists of 7 courses. All courses can also be paired with their appropriate wines.

We went to the Holiday Buffet. It was interesting and delicious. I think there should be a bit more space around the room to get to the food tables. The wait staff were amazing. Very attentive. The young man at the flambe table was chatty and laughed when he had a group that wanted to see the fire. Fun evening.
This restaurant school has got it all over "professional " restaurants. First off, the ambience- there are multiple restaurant choices, we chose the international bistro which was lovely. A real flavor of a European street cafe. The other restaurants were equally nice.
The food was tasty, the service attentive, the prices very reasonable. I would go back again.
The service and ambiance were great. When we first got there, we had the place to ourselves. The decor was lovely in the international bistro. Felt like I was in France. The three other people in my party got the same dinner. They said it was way too salty. I got the coq au vin. It was good. Dessert was good too; very creative ideas.
Hurry , hurry the 5 week pop up menu won't be here for long so you better go now! The salmon was crazy good and Chef Pohubka 's Chicken Involtini was still exceptional! The desserts were outstanding! I don't know how I will survive the summer when the restaurant is closed. Love , love , love!!!
The restaurant is always fresh and innovative. The menu is always changing and the choices are outstanding. Chef Pohubka prepared the Chicken Involtini that was pure perfection. The presentation was phenomenal and the flavors extraordinary. I have already made my next reservation. Their $25.00 three-course dinner is a steal and award worthy. I can't wait to go back and neither can my friends.
My husband's bass was raw in the center and cooked on the edges. We waited at least 25 minutes for his entree to be fixed. We were comped wine and the server was professional and apologetic. My lamb was overly salty but for a student run experience we would recommend it and say they are well on their way to becoming professional.
We came here during one of their speciality themed menu weeks, created by the senior students of the school. The presentation of the food was excellent and the food was excellent! The student service staff were sweet and personable. You can tell that some of the bussing students were shy, nervous, or just not used to service quite yet. I think was also part of the appeal and charm of our experience as well. A gorgeous dining space!!
I went last night because I had to have the Bon Voyage menu again and took five friends. Everyone raved about the dishes . This innovative menu, presentation , service and value are unbelievable in every respect. I can't wait until the students return from spring break to try the next menu. The students are tremendously attentive and professional. Chef Pohubka did a spectacular job as did the rest of the students.
This was our first visit to the college, although we've dined at other culinary school restaurants before. We ate at the Trattoria on a Saturday evening. The room was surprisingly empty - there was just one other couple besides us, though there were many others dining in the inside courtyard (probably at one of the other "restaurants").
We didn't understand until we got there how the pasta was to be served, even after checking the menu at home. We were offered a choice of soup or salad (both quite tasty) and then five pasta courses (one served every five minutes or so). The food was all great - fresh and flavorful. All five of our pasta courses were vegetarian (in case that's a concern). We also had rolls that were delicious, and the small basket was refilled multiple times. :)
The two student servers working the room were very friendly and helpful, and if we had a question that they didn't know, they went to the kitchen and quickly returned with the answer.
We were there celebrating our son's birthday (it was a few days after his birthday). I had only briefly mentioned it to the maître d' when we arrived. But when my son and I got the desserts we ordered, the servers had put a candle in his krimpet and sang him happy birthday. :)
All in all, it was a wonderful meal, especially for the price. We'll likely come back again to revisit the trattoria or maybe try one of the other restaurants on-site.
Incredible staff made us feel welcome and even offered us a tour at the end of our dinner. Incomparable desserts - the Black Russian bomb featured the most delicious mocha mousse. Tempura rock shrimp with Japanese eggplant was perfectly prepared. Crispy black bass was a showstopper!
