Not a great experience. Hostess/server did not wear a mask. Forgot things that we asked for and food was just alright.
the mac and cheese is to die for!!! i can't stop thinking about it. (loved everything we ordered - veggie burger and gourmet pickles w/ a smokey flavor YUM)!!!
service is fantastic, and the place is gorgeous! can't wait to be back soon!
this was the second time I went to this restaurant, the first time it was just me and my wife, without reservations.
The service was great and so was the food.
The person, who was hostess also attended to us and she did an incredible job, so we came back, now with friends from outside NY.
Unfortunately this time the service was bad, the same person attended us and did a great job, but the food took too long to come, we had an appointment, so we started asking to see what was happening, 1 hour after we sit and still waiting our food.
Finally, a person brought two dishes and when we asked what it was, he didn't know and went back with our food to the kitchen.
Upon returning he announced the dishes, there were still 4 dishes left, but when questioning nobody knew about them!
After a few minutes and asking again we received the answer that it would take another 15 minutes, unfortunately we had to cancel.
The restaurant is incredible! We will be back! The food is great ... but this kind of service can kill the restaurant, they need to pay attention.
Small details make a difference .... for example ... we receive the full check, without any discount, we leave without eating and hungry, staying without food until after our show. Small details in attendance that they need to pay more attention to.
I found The Restaurant on Open Table, and what a find it was. The space is lovely and feels relaxing. The food is creative and delicious. I had the beets with falafel, the black bass with kale and the chocolate pudding with chicories for dessert. Everything was great and my server Leonard was excellent. A fine addition to the area's dining scene.
were a group of 6 & sat in back room which was quiet & comfortable. Food was varied & terrific. Between all of us we tried different menu items. From oysters(cold & tasty) to mac & Cheese to the best Sauteed Cauliflower with unusual items on top . Black bass was well prepared and the sauce matched,-top dish, pot roast was tender & just like MaMa makes, with meatloaf made with veal!!!!. Salmon should be cooked medium & so tasty.fries are crispy las we all liked them. Save room for desert- Chocolate pudding tops off the meal with just the right amount of sweetness. No specials the night we were their so we didn't have a taste of the head chef's real creativity. We all will return.
The food here was really quite good. It was a late dinner so I ate "light" and had the anchovies and mac and cheese. Both were excellent. Also, the gem lettuce salad was nicely dressed. Chocolate pudding, the only dessert available, was interesting and pretty good for a pudding. Our server was inexperienced - it was very cute that she really tried to memorize our order but came back soon and we re-ordered as she wrote it all down. Otherwise, the service was competent. The only REALLY disappointing thing was the cocktails. Interesting descriptions, but not good. The server mixed up my "sazerac" and fellow diners "margarita" and we couldn't really tell the difference based on the flavor of the alcohol.
Nice new neighborhood restaurant. Roasted chicken, mac & cheese and cauliflower were pretty good. Wish there were a few more broccolini with the chicken. Overall tasty and would recommend.
The service was very nice and the people were friendly. The two main courses we ordered, meat loaf and cheeseburger were very disappointing and in the opinion of both of us, below basic diner quality, let alone worth the prices that were charged.
I hosted an event for my senior management team at the restaurant. We were a group of 14 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience as well as the wine selection and creative cocktails. I am still receiving compliments about the food. Compliments to the team at the restaurant for their attentive service to our large group. Everyone was made to feel like a VIP. Thank you.
Enjoyed an afternoon at the restaurant with a variety of small plates. The variety and quality were exceptional. Service was welcoming and outstanding.
We were so excited to try this new restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen! Everything was absolutely fantastic from the food (sardines, burrata, ham, black bass) to the service (great job Lenny!) and ambiance!! We will definitely be back!!!
We had the roast chicken for two. It was excellent; very tasty succulent and tender. The broccolini and camille sauce were delightful, although I would have wished more of the vegetable. Nice table for two and the waitress serving us was cheerful and enthusiastic. Very efficient and solicitous also. My only disappointment was the after dinner coffee... too strong and bitter I thought. Otherwise a nice find.
Wow! Hell’s Kitchen’s newest diamond in the ruff. The service was impeccable, the staff was so friendly and helpful in every way. Our party hadn’t all arrived at the same time so we sat at the bar for a while. The artisan cocktails were as delicious as they were inventive & fresh. Once the food came out we were pleasantly surprised as to how much preparation had gone into the plating and presentation, not to mention the fine cuisine itself. The ambiance is also “très chic” to say the least. All in all an uncut gem in one of New York’s most iconic neighborhoods, a must go!
Wonderful new restaurant. Great food and fabulous vegan options
Four of us ended up at "The Restaurant" after a show at Birdland, because it was convenient and the reviews were stellar.
Our mind was blown by the quality of the food; every dish was very good or excellent. The service, lighting and music were beyond reproach.
For reference, the night before we'd dropped $100/ person on a trendy-hoity-toity dinner at Cosme, and our evening at The Restaurant was 1/2 the price and a superior dining experience in virtually every way.
My girl friends and I had a little reunion dinner here the other evening, and The Restaurant is amazing! We started off with some delicious signature cocktails and sharing plates, which included the Montauk Squid, Pickles & Preserves, the Burrata, and the Cauliflower. All of which were to die for. We ended up ordering a handful of entrees such as the Ora King Salmon, a Veggie Burger with a side of Fries, the Royal Trumpet Tetrazzini, and the Black Bass. Every dish was delectable and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. A modern and unique take on American cuisine, The Restaurant scored an overall 10 with us.
The decor has a laid back feel that mixes a kind of Hamptons look with the nautical ropes overlaying and intertwined/ weaved on the ceiling and a NYC loft industrial look with the exposed brick and pipes. Oh and lastly, they had the best playlist playing throughout our dinner. My friends kept their Shazam handy at all times ;)
I highly recommend taking a trip to Hell's Kitchen to dine at this gem in the center of Manhattan ♥
Really awesome vibes. Great menu and drinks! Really impressed my date with this one!
I found The Restaurant to be the right mix of upscale and approachable. It had a neighborhood feel but with a more premium experience than the usual neighborhood spot. I reccomend trying it.
Amazing experience! I haven’t loved having a dinner in the city as much as in The Restaurant! The ambience was incredible, menu was delicious, their cocktail bar thrilling. Briana and Joey made our evening more special by being wonderfully charming. Can’t wait to celebrate more occasions here!
I had a great experience at The Restaurant. I really enjoyed the meatloaf. The squid was really good. Great atmosphere. I’ll be coming back next week with business clients.
Great new addition to the Hudson Yards/ Hell's Kitchen area with a Soho/Tribeca ambiance. It has great lighting and tasty/healthy food.
Fantastic space! The staff was helpful and attentive, the food was so so delicious and the bartender was friendly. Will be back again soon! Highly recommend this spot.
Consistently excellent experience. Atmosphere, team and meals are top notch. Great place for a Sunday afternoon.
The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive.
Appetizing meals that keep you coming back for more! The ambiance is one you only dream of and the service is outstanding!
Great Food and drinks, the pot roast was delicious and tender.
Really nice & special place in this area with good seasonal food, fair prices, and a nice modern approach. We had the chicken dish for three. It was plenty of food, super good. Outstanding friendly staff.
The restaurant is beautiful and food was amazing. Unfortunately it took forever to get each course of our meal (all 4 of us chose to order from the Valentine’s Day pre fixe menu to keep things simple). After being there for an hour and 45 minutes, we had to ask for our check because we were running late for the concert we were going to nearby at Madison Square Garden. Our desserts hadn’t come yet and the staff didn’t even attempt to try to rush them out to us when we told them the circumstances, but just dropped our check and said thanks. I would definitely go back again after they’ve been open for longer and I have a couple hours to spare, in case service continues to be as slow, because the food was amazing. It was a bummer we couldn’t even get our desserts for Galentine’s Day after being there almost 2 hours and being charged for them though..
My wife and joined friends for a dinner. The Restaurant was a great setting for our dinner. Fantastic meal including great appetizers and delicious mains including the steak special and meatloaf. Excellent wine and tasty cocktails. We will be back next week.
Dined with a group of friends and had a great experience. Welcoming atmosphere, attentive service and excellent appetizers and main courses. The cauliflower is not to be missed. Creative cocktails. Exceptional value for the outstanding quality. Best of luck to this creative team.
I have returned with friends and The Restaurant is consistently excellent. The food, space and team are outstanding. Make sure you try the Cauliflower. A great place for a group of friends.
The restaurant was a pleasant surprise!
It is just opened around the corner from my office.
The decor is sparse, yet elegant and tasteful.
We ordered the chicken and steak which were both delicious. I was disappointed that they were sold out of all fish options. The drinks are also pricey for the neighborhood.
We will go back and give the restaurant another try!
I'm visiting New York with family and we walked into "the restaurant" and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The ambiance, food and service was impeccable and this place is a must go to. I'm vegetarian and ordered the Tetrazzini and the Cauliflower with almond pesto and it was soooooo delicious. I can't wait to come back and visit here again! 10/10!!!!!!
