The Restaurant W South Beach (RWSB) is from the long-standing Miami-based KNR Hospitality Group, officially opened on May 1, 2019. At the helm, Executive Chef Josh Gripper along with Executive Sous Chef Mario Alegre have created what they are dubbing as a “Roots American” menu, influenced by their respective upbringing—from Gripper’s classical training and growing up in New York with family roots in the U.S. South to Alegre’s Puerto Rican heritage. Combined with both of the chefs’ Caribbean inspirations, the result is classic comfort food that reflects the melting pot of flavors in South Florida. The 200-seat indoor-outdoor restaurant accommodates a range of seating options—from an intimate dinner party for 12 to a larger affair for up to 70 guests on the lush outdoor patio, known as “The Grove”.
