The Restaurant at W South Beach
The service and food were great! It was Surprisingly very very quiet
Outdoor seating with great service. We picked a great day to go small wedding reception next door had some live music. It was quiet and the service was outstanding.
We had an very pleasant dinner on a balmy night on the W’s terrace. My partner came here because of the variety of the oysters available and was quite pleased. Other tasty things on the menu were the artichoke and avocado salad and the short rib with polenta and cipollini onions. The key lime pie with mango sorbet was delicious and beautiful to look at. The best thing, however, was relaxing on the terrace and the personal service, although there were very few diners. I might add that we came back a few days later for lunch with our friends and two cairn terriers. The staff couldn’t have been nicer.
Red snapper dish is excellent!
For the empty restaurant you could not get the worse service. Simple start two glasses of champagne. The bar waiter pours them and places them on the bar counter ... we just stare at them it doesn’t get delivered. Until someone reminds the waiter that they are there ... twice ! Yes the first time he just nodded and went to do something else... only the second time... agh but agin it wasn’t the waiter that brought them over... the lady from the front house! Who was very welcoming and very polite also apologised for the wait.
A reminder the restaurant is 89% empty.
I order apple juice for my daughter... same repeat situation. We just stare at it. Might as well get it my self right ? Waiter comes over can I take your order please ? I point at the juice on the bar counter that been left... by this point we already gave up....
Now someone needs to explain to me... 2 small starters 2 glasses of champagne a side of trench fries = $150?!
How? The food was awful. Do not try the tuna as you’ll have a tummy problems for rest of the evening. I eat raw fish daily and never had a reaction like this in my life and it wasn’t just my self. Both of us were in trouble ! My friend had a lobster starter so we can’t blame it just on tuna... you get the picture.
I must say I’ve dined in Mr Chow next door few times great service great experience can’t fault it we thought we will try the W as it’s in the same hotel why not!
Little that I knew it be the worse experience ever.
I’m very disappointed.
And me being overly polite I even left a tip! Just to regret it the day after... not the One to make the fuss and this is the first review I ever wrote ! So that just explains how frustrated I’m over yesterday’s events at the W.
service OK at best. ordered the $ 90.00 stone crab app. tossed down on the table, no bowl for shells,
my wife and I were sharing and they bring us 1 claw cracker and had some attitude when we asked for a second.
it was a touristy thing to order but Joes is 10x better.
Overall great experience. Food was good, service was fast and wonderful ambiance.
The food was excellent in every way--fresh, creative, cooked as requested. The server was friendly, professional and accommodating. We sat outside in the garden and it was lovely.
The food was mediocre. The bartender was no good; we had to send back two drinks. The place has really gone down hill since The Dutch. It’s fantastic outdoor seating and a fun outdoor bar; skip the food and go for drinks.
After the worst start to our day it was a ray of sunshine. Amazing staff and food.
We had a late reservation on a rainy night and restaurant was quiet. Food and ambiance were great.
I tried the Miami Spice Menu. I started with the Lobster Etouffee and it was delicious! Perfect portion and presentation. For the main course, I had the Beef Short Rib over Grits. Absolutely amazing. The grits were cooked perfectly and the beef was so tender. For dessert, I had the carrot cake. It was so good but I was too full to finish it. Great atmosphere and customer service.
The food was delicious and the service was superb. Would definitely visit again!
Roman, stopped by when we were done and gave my great nephew some brownies. He lit up. Service was awesome overall. Good team!
Good service. Good was good
