The Restaurant at The Norton
I wrote yes because there was no maybe option. If the friend were affluent enough then yes, if they had less economic ability I would say no. The pricing of this restaurant is way too high for it to be a place I would frequent. The people visiting the Norton come from all walks of life and the restaurant should be affordable to all, not just the elite.
We are outside which was a bit hot. Water needed ice which I had to ask for. Else was great!
My friend and I were invited back to the Restaurant after complaining about poor service back in May.
This time service was prompt and cheerful, a remarkable improvement over our first visit. Our lunches, Ceviche and Crabcake Benedict, were outstanding. Our seating outside was lovely. Kudos to the staff for a delightful dining experience.
Wonderful and excellent, the Norton is the place to go in West Palm Beach
The Restaurant at the Norton is one more excellent reason to enjoy a visit to the museum. The menu and the service were excellent. Perfect for our Art After Dark experience. I plan to return frequently. Thank you.
Beautiful outdoor venue looking into a garden. Entrees and wine is a bit pricey
Beautiful setting, fast friendly service, great food and we are paleo/picky eaters. Will be going again and definately recommend.
We had never been to this restaurant but Friday night has music at the museum so the 4 of us decided to try it out. The restaurant itself is new and beautifully appointed. We sat next to the all glass back wall that looked out onto the outside eating patio and lawn. Things were off to a good start or so we thought. The server poured water and presented the menu and this is where things started going downhill. The menu was limited in all areas, the few entrees were very pricey and we were scrambling as to what to order. Finally decided on salads all around and when delivered another disappointment. The chilled bowls looked lovely in presentation, however, very small portions for the price of $14-$17. The Florida Chopped Citrus Salad had a few orange segments throughout but nothing out of the ordinary. The Caesar Salad looked exactly like the Citrus with a tablespoonful of tiny diced chicken cubes in one corner of the bowl. The Beet Salad looked lovely on half the plate with swirls of syrupy designs on the other half. Is this it was the first impression but interspersed with the beets were small pieces of bib lettuce. Still not worth the value and after paying a hefty price for 4 salads we left very disappointed. Found out that this restaurant is only open for dinner Fridays so perhaps that is the reason for a limited, pricey menu but we will not return.
I appreciate paintings/sculptures in the Museum. The aesthetic appearance of dots on the plate as pointed out by the server, does not substitute for food. The dinner portions were smaller than child size and were not commensurate with the price. The previous Norton restaurant presented food that was fairly priced, exquisite in appearance and also delicious. The curried chicken salad was especially remembered. Perhaps, this restaurant has a more varied lunch menu than dinner menu. I do not know. There are several good restaurants in the area of the Norton. If this restaurant is to continue, I recommend more generous portions.
As always, delicious meals and excellent service. Enjoyed the mushroom goat cheese quiche along with the salmon eggs Benedict.
Interesting collection of patrons. limited menu. service slow. convenient for attending the museum
Ambiance, menu, drinks, service was to our full satisfaction. We want to specially mention the outstanding, friendly, witty service by Anna. And the best Margarita in town, clearly made from scratch.
We sat outside and it was very pleasant, with less noise and more of nature. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The menu is rather limited but good. Overall it was a good experience.
It was lovely. The food was fresh and the service friendly.
It was over-priced, limited, and most of my meal was french fries.
Ambiance was great, sit outside if possible to avoid the high noise level. The food was good, no complaints and the service was excellent. What drive the review is the high cost of the meal, very high for slightly above average food.
Great restaurant. Average to high prices. Only open on Friday in the summer. Vegetarian options.
As a resident of West Palm Beach, I’m thrilled with the Norton Museum’s incredible, new enlarged spaces. Friday night dinner facing an outdoor venue used for fun and games, lent to the joyous atmosphere. A little noisy but we soon adjusted and enjoyed the food and wine. The server needed more training.
Service and ambiance is fabulous. Food was good and overall the restaurant is a wonderful place to have lunch
The food was excellent. The only thing we're didn't like wad the mashed potatoes. Everything else was great.
We truly enjoyed the food here. The dining experience is very similar to the art galleries surrounding it, unique, creative and tasteful. (And expensive, but that’s art).
We were pleasantly surprised when we went to the museum and having no thought of having dinner there. Then we stumbled upon the Restaurant and decided to stay and eat and were so glad we did. The food was great plus we had a lovely view of the gardens. Everything was 1st class so now we plan to go back when we are in the area, regardless of whether we plan on going to the museum itself. It was that good.
Lovely surprise for us at the Norton - it was our first visit there. The service is warm and friendly. The food is diverse, beautiful presentation, not your normal fare. We enjoyed it very much.
Everything was great go there weekly
This was our second time at the Norton Restaurant. We enjoyed it once again. We forgot to bring our discount postcards from the first time!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Norton. The food and service was excellent. The ambiance could use some improvement. The food is a little over priced for what you get but nevertheless delicious. The dining room reminded both of us of a cafeteria at Kennedy Space Center. It could use a bit more color and creativity to match the dinner menu.
Was looking forward to dining in the new dining room since the renovation ....the room is very contemporary ...but cold ...as was my entree and fries ..unacceptable ..food should arrive to the table hot .. and also we only saw our server once ...when she took our order and not again till we asked for our check ..but I think what really was the most annoying thing of the evening ,was when they charged us for a slice of bread !! NO ,JUST NO ....
Lovely atmosphere; excellent food; great service; delightful overall
The four of us enjoyed the food we had at our first visit to the restaurant. But two of my friends thought that the portions were too small. Gluten free items would also be appreciated.
Table at the window looking at the sculpture garden.
Had salmon eggs Benedict- amaze.
The tomato bisque was outstanding.
Lesley was our server and was attentive, friendly and accommodating!
Already made reservations for next Sunday.
We sat outside where it was quiet! Noise was not an issue but the mosquitos were.
My only suggestion would be overhead fans and citronella candles.
Otherwise everything was perfect
Good food, fair prices. And the waitress did not rush us.
I was disappointed the bonmei sandwich I had once before and was delicious wasn't on the menu.
I ordered the fried fish sandwich. The fish was overcooked. The bread (only ate the bottom slice) was saturated in oil. I would have preferred coleslaw or a side salad instead of more fried french fries.
What a wonderful improvement to the old Norton! This was our first visit since the extensive renovations by Foster. This is now a museum one can spend a day enjoying with the additional bonus of a fabulous restaurant to round out the experience. The inside dining space is a bit noisy due to the hard surfaces, however the modern clean environment is lovely. We were there on a hot summer day and some brave souls were enjoying the outdoor seating area. In season during more favorable weather that will be a great alternative seating arrangement. Thank you Norton and the design staff of Foster for creating such a nice addition to West Palm Beach!
Everything about The Restaurant at The Norton makes for a perfect meal or nosh! The expanded menu offers delicious choices for all palates. A must do!
Loved everything about it! Food was fresh and delicious, wait staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Will be back!
Went to museum, fantastic, & had heard food was great at the restaurant. We tried & it was excellent all around - food, service, ambiance.
I thought the menu looked interesting but was so surprised at just how fabulous everything tasted. We went for lunch this past Saturday with friends who were visiting from Miami. Everyone loved their meals. We ordered the mushroom and Brie toast and needed to order a second one. The same with the Caesar salad with fried capers. Our friend ordered the Salmon with quinoa, edamame and cashews that was a perfect blend of flavors. I’m definitely getting next time! And my husband had a special that had pork belly and eggs on a baguette. Can’t wait to go back!
Love the new look and feel of The restaurant, food was good. Food service a little slow.
Beautiful setting and great drinks. Small portion sizes for the price. Food was good but pricey for what you get.
