   We have dined at The Greystone many times. tonight’s experience was really disappointing. The service was very slow despite there only being 3 tables. Our party of 5 ordered drinks and my gin and tonic was served without tonic. It took nearly 20 minutes before the tonic was brought to the table. In the meantime my gin completely watered down. The kicker though was when my butternut squash soup was delivered. However it was not butternut squash soup, it was the special, which we were not told about, crab soup. I am deathly allergic to shellfish and carry an epipen. If my husband hadn’t made a casual comment, I would have tried the soup. Our server kind of laughed it off and commented in 19 years she’d never made that mistake. One that would have sent me to the hospital. At the end of the night it was not adjusted on the bill. I was charged for the crab soup, not the one I ordered. While the price difference was only a few dollars, it seemed like another over sight.

I want to sincerely apologize for the series of missteps you encountered during your recent visit. Serving the wrong soup — especially with a severe shellfish allergy involved — is a serious error that should never happen, and we’re addressing it immediately with our team. The delays in service and the oversight on your bill only added to your frustration, and for that, I sincerely apologize. This is not the standard we hold ourselves to, especially for a valued guest who has supported us over the years. I’d welcome the chance to speak with you directly and make this right.

   We were celebrating our anniversary and they restraunt acknowledged it by giving us a free dessert! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great food and great service.

   Lovely restaurant with excellent food and service. Highly recommend for a relaxing evening with a gorgeous view and hospitable staff. And they make a great old fashioned!

   We always enjoy dinner at the Graystone Inn. It’s a lovely venue on Lake Toxaway and the food is delicious.
