We did not stay at the Inn but made a reservation for brunch at the restaurant. I'm a former fine dining server, so I'm usually pretty forgiving, but this place really needs better leadership and staff training! Just walking to the front door of the restaurant, one feels as if it's not the right way-- down a steep narrow walkway with vague signage to a heavy closed door. At 9:30 am on a Sunday, staff was still cleaning the bathrooms and carpet. We were shown to a table with a lovely view of the lake, and that was the only highlight of the morning. Our server was not friendly or helpful. She practically rolled her eyes when my husband asked for a clean coffee cup and I asked for a spoon for my sugar and cream. The coffee was lukewarm. The menu we were given was abbreviated from the one on their website. There was no mention on it of not permitting substitutions. My husband asked if he could modify a dish and was given a flat, "No." My blueberry pancakes and side of bacon were pretty good, but my husband's egg breakfast was equivalent to Denny's. Since he wasn't permitted to substitute his side of bread for a biscuit, we ordered an additional side of 2 biscuits. They were raw in the middle! Our server never bothered to check back with us, so I asked the host to take it off our bill. He took the plate and literally poked his finger in one of the biscuits and said, "They are slightly undercooked." Other than a group who appeared to be staying at the Inn, we were the only customers. We walked over to the main building and observed a similar lack of attention to detail. It looked dingy and run down. Not even a fire lit on a chilly, rainy morning. I would avoid this place altogether.

Our waitress for breakfast both Saturday and Sunday was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable, went above and beyond to make our experience not only at breakfast wonderful but even clued our children in on fun activities that they could do on property that we were unaware of! Truly a gem!

While I could tell our waiter was brand new to waiting tables, there is a certain level of attention and comprehension that is expected when paying $$$ for a meal. It was very obvious our waiter had zero training and was not able to even explain to us what was included in a particular dish. After having such a lovely waitress for breakfast at the same restaurant it was such a disappointment to come back to this in the evening. The food wasn’t good enough to justify paying those prices for such poor quality of service.

We have dined here before. We shared the sweet potato bread and house salad for appetizers and both had the crab stuffed salmon. The food was great! Even though it was sprinkling, they set up an umbrella and we were able to eat outside, which provides a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. It was very we quiet, not even any boats on the lake. Jude, our server did a great job. We were celebrating our anniversary and they provided a complimentary glass of champagne for each of us. Will definitely go back when we are in the area.

What a joy to read your review-thank you for sharing your anniversary with us! We're so pleased the crab-stuffed salmon, sweet potato bread, and serene lakeside setting made the evening memorable, even with a bit of rain. Jude will be thrilled to know he helped make your visit special. We hope to see you again on your next trip to the mountains!

The Greystone Inn Restaurant is always an enjoyable experience. Our server Tabitha was professional and attentive. We started with the Harvest Board which had the best procuitto. We shared the crab cake, pork belly appetizer and the garden salad. We ended up taking several items home. We live locally and will continue to support this beautiful place.

Restaurant is always great. Food is amazing. We just missed the bread, they stopped serving it at the beginning to promote the chef’s cornbread on the menu, but I’m not a fan of cornbread.
