The Restaurant at The Fitzwilliam Hotel
Imagine crowd pleasing classics, with a high end twist. Peruse the cocktails, from our fabulous list. What about pre-theatre dining, that we knock out fast? Sample from our wine menu, that just oozes class. "Five by the Fitz" for our discerning guest, local suppliers, only the best! For something different, try our A La Carte, go for our Sirloin, its the best part! Come meet our team, they're the best you will get. Come for an experience, you'll never forget.
Right in the city, the heart of the town, our AA Rosette Restaurant, the jewel of the crown!
Had a fantastic evening in The Fitzwilliam Hotel. Went for the pre-theatre meal and the food and wine were excellent. The staff where very attentive, especially Anna and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and will be letting our friends know how much we enjoyed it.
Hi AngelaS, Thank you so much for your kind review! Anna will be delighted to read your feedback. Our pre-theatre menu is great value and I hope we can welcome you back soon. Thank you, Ruairi
Food was good....seabass was perfectly cooked! Food service was quick although maybe a little too quick at times. Seemed almost a bit rushed, although we were going to the theatre so it wasn't too much of a problem. Drink service on the other hand was a bit slow, but overall we enjoyed it and would be back.
Hi NicolaB, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback, I am delighted to read you enjoyed our food and your comments regarding speed of service will be shared with the team. We hope to welcome you back soon. Thanks, Ruairi
We went for the pre theater meal and choose this as the prices were actually quite reasonable. However, I feel the drinks were very expensive in comparison to places were I've got the same cocktails for less. The soup was apparently potato and leak but had the appearance of mushroom and was quite watery, absolutely not the quality I was expecting from this restaurant.
When we were ordering drinks we had two people at the table one asking about drinks and one if we wanted bread and I'll be honest we got caught up and said yes although its not something we have normally so it felt a little like trying to up sell us.
But the bread we got was nice with a slight cheese layer on top and it was warm which was delightful. The dips were ok - olive oil and tapenade but because of the cheese I think a red pepper/paprika more liquid style dip would have been better. The wheaten bread that came with the soup was also nice.
I will say the main was MUCH better than the first course. The steak was delicious and a lovely size as and the chips and onion rings were nice and crispy. I just wish you were given a choice with sauce but they did change the pepper sauce for us so they were accommodating. The staff were lovely and attentive. I just wish the food reflected the beautiful surroundings and service.
Hi NatashaM, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. I was delighted to see you enjoyed your main course and that our team were able to assist you with changing some components of that to suit you needs. Thank you also for your constructive feedback on our breads, we will share this with the kitchen. I hope we get to welcome you again soon! Thank you, Ruairi
Very polite friendly helpful staff. Lovely ambiance & food. Would highly recommend.

Very pleased with our pre-theatre dinner in The Restaurant at the Fitzwilliam Hotel.
We were delayed getting to the Restaurant due to late arrival of our train, but the restaurant manager promised that we would have time for dinner, and that he would do his best to have us out in time for ‘curtain-up’ at The Grand Opera House.
Service was excellent, food was delicious and we were not disappointed in any way.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! I am glad we were able to ensure you were in time for curtain up! We hope to welcome you back soon Warm regards, Ruairi
The restaurant was closed due to a burst pipe but we were accommodated in the bar area. The environment was lovely and quiet. Anna, who served us, was more friendly and welcoming. Thank you.
Dear Foodie, Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! Its great to read Anna was able to look after you so well. We hope to welcome you back soon Warm regards, Ruairi
The food and atmosphere were incredible. Unfortunately, we found a hair in one of the main meals. Once we brought this up with the waiting staff we were told that the chef was bald so it has nothing to do with them. Considering our overall bill was nearly £150 I would have expected a. an apology and b. a refund of the dish in question.
Hosted a special dinner at The Restaurant- excellent advice before the event and all went like clockwork. Varied menu to suit all tastes and good wine list. Excellent service. A special evening made more special - thank you
Dear littlebear, Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! We hope to welcome you back soon Warm regards, Ruairi
This was dinner to celebrate my sos’s graduation. We ate from a special graduation menu which was very nice.
Dear LG123, Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! We hope to welcome you back soon Warm regards, Ruairi
Starter and main were excellent. Dessert was straight out of the freezer and hardly eatable.
Service was friendly but a bit chaotic. Found it very hard to pay the bill as they would not give our waitress the card machine - nearly missed our opera!
Dear ROGERW, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am delighted to read your starter and main were excellent. Apologies if the dessert was not to this standard also, we will share this feedback with our pastry chef. I hope to welcome you back soon! Warm regards, Ruairi
Food not served hot. Very disappointed. Service week.
Service was brilliant lovely friendly staff ,nice cosy restaurant with dim lighting , food was delicious , we had the pre theatre menu , which was delicious , looking forward to going back , definately the place to go before going to the opera house . Highly recommend
We had excellent service and value for money at the fitzwilliam hotel. Pre theatre menu was great although it would have been nice to have had a choice as a vegetarian- only one dish.
All staff made us feel welcome.
Had booked for a pre theatre meal. Friendly staff, excellent value- I suppose the choices were quite limited but we thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Will definitely return.
Food was terrible, it was tasteless and presentation was so sloppy!! I have had better in Weatherspoons!!
Table was rocking, had to ask for a napkin to be put under it to stop it shaking, there was other tables free we should have been moved to.
My husband and i went for the pre theatre meal which was excellent but i feel the staff should be aware that this was a pre theatre and we were a little limited for time our dessert was a little late and we found that we were a little rushed. We booked our table for 6o clock and ordered two courses and we left for the show at 7:25. I would recommend the restaurant as i found the staff very attentive and our waiter Grant noticed that our desserts were delayed and sorted this out.
Great food. Great service and good atmosphere. Staff could not have been friendlier or more efficient.
Dear RichardR, Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! We are always delighted to read such positive comments about the team here. We hope to welcome you back soon Warm regards, Ruairi
Very nice atmosphere in this restaurant. Staff very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. I enjoyed a very nice Vegetarian curry dish for my main course. My husband had rump steak which he said was perfectly cooked. I would hav given the food five stars but for the fact that the vegetarian dishes were limited to two. Maybe if I had given advance notice there would have been a bigger choice. We both were very happy with our evening here and highly recommend it.
Fantastic food. Great service and great pricing. I would definitely recommend to friends and will be back again in the future.

We went for the pre-theatre menu before heading to an event in the |Grand Opera House. The menu choice was excellent, food served delicious and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend and would definitely go back again
Lovely first experience of eating here.
Only negative was on the pricey side
Attended restaurant for pre theatre meal. Meal was excellent and everybody very friendly and helpful. Delicious and tasty food at a great price. Will definitely be back in the future.
The food was brilliant and a 5* star steak all served with great service along with value as it was a pre theatre menu. Well done
Excellent all round Delightful place for our 31st wedding anniversary
We have been to this hotel many Time especially when we are going next door g o h
The atmosphere is friendly and although the place was busy you feel privacy roundbthe table. Service is smart and polite, drinks are numerous and delicious and there’s an overall felling of good quality with everything. Needless to say the food was fantastic, tasty and well presented
We eat here regularly whenever we are going to the theatre. It has always been excellent as well as convenient which is why we keep returning. We'll be back again soon.
Lovely place to stay in the heart of Belfast. Staff exceptional
Dear valued guest, Many thanks for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am delighted to see you would recommend us! We hope to welcome you back to Ireland and the hotel in the future. Warm regards, Ruairi
Fantastic food, staff were exceptional made our visit very very enjoyable. Will def be back thank you
The restaurant was very busy, and the tables are really close together, hence the noise rate. Couple of times we had to speak loud to actually hear each other. The food is absolutely gorgeous. The only thing we did not like was that Service was not as good as we expected. In the begging it was really good, however as more guests arrived we were waiting for someone to collect the dishes after the main for 30mins. Same situation has happened when we were waiting for bill. Had to ask for it twice and it took 20mins to finally receive it. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend the Restaurant to anyone, who is looking for an elegant dinner.
Great food, in a great location, with pleasant staff. I will be back.
Fitzwilliam Hotel Pre theatre dinner special at £25 pp for 3 courses - and all were delicious. Lovely restaurant, amazing service - we loved it and will be back!!!
Had a beautiful pre theatre dinner. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it.
Food and atmosphere lovely. However service was poor, staff were constantly clearing away plates even while we were still eating.
Went pre theatre.Food was exceptional, perhaps a little slow if you were in a rush. Will definitely go back
We opted for the pre-theatre menu. It has a good selection on it and is good value. The food and service was fantastic. It's a great choice if you are attending the Grand Opera House next door.
Two starters, two mains and two large glasses of wine was £60.50. That included the £4 supplement for steak.
We enjoyed the food and the service, had the pre theater special good value for 3 courses.
Really good food perfectly cooked and presented. Lovely evening
Good choice for pre-theatre meal for shows at Grand Opera. We had the hake for a main course and it was cooked perfectly. The tempura mussels were missing when served, but as soon as it was pointed out to our server they were brought from the kitchen with an apology.
Very good choice of food, both meals were beautiful and in particular the sauce with the chicken was amazing.Pate delicious but chrunchy bread awful.
