Wonderful, we had so much fun and the atmosphere was lovely.
Jay (Jamaica) is the BEST! Please hire more people like him! He made our brunch an AMAZING one! He is funny, attentive, and the best! I am so happy we met him and hopefully we are lucky to have him next time we come to the Colony!
What a beautiful venue. Jazz, cocktails, lunch by the pool doesn’t get better than at The Colony Hotel. Iconic Palm Beach.
Wonderful cocktail to start us off (cucumber and vodka based) delightful service and fabulous chic interior that made me want to re wallpaper my home. Going back on Saturday. Bravo!
One of the best service we've had in a long time. The ambiance and food is great and the staff the best!!
Excellent dining experience. Friday night is Motown for music & dancing. A very upbeat & upscale place for dinner & dancing. Guaranteed good times!
Excellent as always. Tracey was very attentive the grouper Rueben is always good. My go to spot for a fine Palm Beach dining experience
A pleasurable evening out with friends. Great entertainment.
My favorite hotel in all of Palm Beach County, this restaurant has the BEST Seared Tuna in the Salad Nicoise ever!
Service, ambience and food is always amazing. Such a beautiful place for lunch or dinner.. I’ve been going here for 30 years..never get tired of it.
Very pleasant experience. Lovely environment, good food, and good service. I would definitely go back
The poolside ambiance, service and food are classic Palm Beach. Love the nostalgia with a modern twist.
Much enjoyed the setting and the service as well as the food.
It was classy.
Nice place, service not so good. Had to ask twice for wait person
Pool was quite dirty?????? Our table was poolside
Such a beautiful place but the attention to detail
We certainly would return
Lovely Sunday brunch!!!!
Delicious. So colorful, both the venue and patrons. FUN!
a lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon, by the pool with pleasant background music. Menu was very extensive. only caveat parking. with the guests checking otr of the hotel a wedding reception and no street parking, make that part an adventure.
Although the service was more attentive, we were dismayed that some of the menu items that we liked were taken off — we suggested they offer them again and the manager said to give the chef a couple of days notice and they will have them available so we left The Polo happy! We were a table of 6 ladies for lunch poolside.
There has been better greetings upon arrival from a former hostess, but current one (s) could care less if you were dining there. Negative attitude as if you should be serving them.
For such a special place the attitude and accommodations should be a little more energetic! Especially to diners who make it known that they are repeat customers who thoroughly enjoy The Polo.
Would like to see more enthusiasm for frequent diners and more affability among the waitstaff.
Last season The Polo seemed to have more efficient and accommodating servers. We liked Julius., et al.
We had a wonderful time. Truly great food and value for Palm Beach!
With so many great restaurants in Palm Beach, I cannot say I'd recommend the Polo Lounge for dinner. I do however like it for lunch with the great atmosphere outside. The service and the setting were nice at dinner but the food was only mediocre.
This place was disappointing. We went for a belated Valentine's Day Dinner and had high expectations considering the other positive reviews. I'm 30 and my boyfriend is 34 and we were the two youngest people in there by half--but that was not really an issue. Our server was very friendly but was clearly swamped. Our table did not have silverware when we were seated and we had to ask for it after receiving our entrees. The food is uninspired "fancy steakhouse" fare--aka food for old white people. My $44 filet mignon was bland and overcooked--literally no sauce or anything, just salt and pepper, accompanied by fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The wait times were SO long and our server disappeared halfway through the dinner. We did not get refills on drinks (no one asked) and it took so long just to get a dessert menu that we just decided to pass. Then it took ages to get the check and to get someone to come back and take our card. Clearly there was an issue that night, as it seemed everyone around us was just as frustrated--the table next to us also didn't have silverware, and the server was gone so long that he came back and gave them the dessert menus while they were still waiting for their entrees--that didn't sit well with them. I spent $200 here and could have gotten a better meal and FAR better service for $30. A big let down and having worked in a hectic restaurant myself, I'm normally a forgiving person, but this was pretty bad.
Terrible! They could not find our reservation. I was with my 83 and 85 year old parents. They were very rude!
Lunch at the polo is always nice! Great place for a ladies luncheon out or for a business meeting lunch.
Poolside setting is wonderful with outdoor seating under canopy and plenty of umbrellas.
Great people watching and occasional celebrity sightings.
On this particular day the service was inattentive/ disinterested and had to track down servers for a glass of water, hot bread and a coffee refill! No acknowledgment from hostess upon leaving. Although the pool area was active the indoor dining room was left to fend for itself.
A definite distraction for such a perfect old Palm Beach-setting!
Will return but hoping management ups the staff and reviews rules and regulations in their dining settings.
Unspeakably slow service
We were surprised by the lack of attention we were given for Valentine's Day Dinner. We had three different people approach our table to bring bread, get drinks, and seat us, however taking our meal order seemed to be no one's job. Once we finally got our order placed we got our salads quickly. One issue though was my salad was my main. I figured since they brought the salad the sides would follow shortly as well as my husbands dinner. We were wrong. Our waitress came over after 30 minutes and asked how our meal was. She was shocked when she found out we never got our dinner. She did quickly get this addressed but it appeared as if my husbands meal was simply forgotten and then reheated. I never got my sides. The waitress did buy our desserts which was quite nice but still not returning here for another dinner.
The food was delicious. We started with the caprese salad, which was fresh and very tasty. Then we had the snapper and the chicken schnitzel and both were excellent. Everything was prepared simply but delicious. The outdoor seating is lovely overlooking the pool. Overall, highly recommend.
Menu was very limited.
Portions were very small.
Price was very high
Big negative change from previous years.
Great dancing to Motown!
Excellent outdoor setting by pool with live music; indoor setting is clubby but can get noisy. Menu is limited, in a good way--primarily freshly prepared fish and meat with classic appetizers such as lobster bisque. Have always had excellent food and have never been disappointed. Clearly an older, more Palm Beach crowd, but by no means staid. Definitely gives visitors a view into the real Palm Beach scene.
The Polo steakhouse and seafood is nestled in the beautifully appointed Colony Hotel. The decor is something out of an old 40’s movie.
The restaurant’s bar scene is vibrant .
The waitstaff was lacking and inattentive until we spoke up youths maitre’d.
Service was then impeccable.
The food was delicious.
Will definitely return for drinks and dinner
We have had lunch at least a half dozens times at the Colony in the past. Poolside is lovely with fine food and impeccable service. We hope this visit was a one-time aberration. The food and surroundings were as pleasant as always, but the service, if you could call it that, was sluggish and invisible. We would have understood long waits and inattention if the place was busy, but they were having a quiet day with plenty of servers in attendance. That said, we'll will try the Colony again soon, with fingers crossed.
Grouper was delicious, and excellent service by Nick.
I love dining here. You feel as though you're in paradise. It's so relaxing and beautiful. They seem to have a number of new employees since last season and they're not quite up to the past standards. I'm sure that will improve with time.
We stayed at the Colony Hotel for two days and had breakfast twice and lunch twice. The food and the service were great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We came for Polo's famous lobster salad, and were disappointed by not seeing it on the menu. However, with a little arm twisting the chef agreed to prepare it, just for us. And it was as good, if not better (fresher?) than before. And Moet champagne was a nice fit to a perfect lunch.
We would definitely think that the lobster salad should be a regular item on the Polo's lunch menu.
Charming hotel, Friday evenings are t
he time to go to the restaurant. Music for dancing, and lots of people watching. Fun place for a special occasion. Staff extremely accommodating..
The true spirit of old Palm Beach, updated.Lovely pool side setting, warm welcome, friendly staff, delicious dinner! Great fish and meats, and a divine cauliflower steak for vegetarians.
The Polo Lounge at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach is an institution. My wife and I used to be regulars with weekly reservation until about two years ago. We were not fans of the updated look which attempted to give the feeling of being at a polo match. In addition, prices were increased to the point where it was no longer comfortable and management added a music charge to the bill.
Last week we decided to take a trip down memory lane. My wife and I were married there in 2008 and it just seemed time to return.
We recently learned that the hotel was under new management and significant changes had been made.
We were very pleased. We were seated at our old table. The staff was friendly and professional. The menu was reasonably priced and the food outstanding. Our only negative was an a/c vent that blew directly down at the table. Another slight negative was the volume of the excellent band. It was just a bit too loud for table conversation and our table was about as far away from the band as possible.
Overall the experience was excellent as always. We plan on returning in the near future.
Great summer prix fixe menu, enjoyed everything about the Colony!
Delicious special lunch overlooking the pool with steel drummer a nice touch. Hadn't been to The Colony in some time and can't wait to go back.
