The Restaurant at Russian River Vineyards Ratings and Reviews
I was looking for places for wine tasting & lunch with some friends who were passing through on their way to Mendocino. Wow. This was perfect. Casual outside dining on a beautiful patio. Wine tasting on site. Dog friendly (they even offered her a bowl of water!). Just a relaxed, casual, delicious afternoon with friends. I couldn't have asked for any better. It's a little on the expensive side, but the food was amazing. We were there on a Weds for lunch so I don't know how busy it gets on the weekends but I'm already planning on having someone take me to lunch for my birthday there!!!
We enjoyed this place a lot! The outside seating is so nice and tons of places to sit and sip wine. You can sit outside or inside for dinner. We chose inside which was a bit fancier than outside. Very fun place and the food was awesome!! Glad we took the drive!
Very pleasant patio, and pleasant service. The food was trying to be good, but was missing the mark. Everything had a manufactured quality rather than a hand-made quality. This is a pretend fine dining establishment. If you're driving down 116 and you want to take a break, have a small dish and a glass of wine, but don't bother to spend$100/pp to have a mediocre yet pretentious dinner. Nothing was served to us that I couldn't have done better, myself, at home.
Wonderful spot for an intimate date or a group occasion. I love how animal friendly it is and just the overall ambiance. Did I mention the food?! Oh my gosh the food is to die for. I have never had a bad meal here. I love how often the recipe changes because it's always a fun surprise to see what options you'll have when you go!
As a club member of the RR Vineyard, I have dined at the restaurant many times while enjoying the wonderful wines of the RR winery. I love to eat outside under the stunning redwood trees, weather permitting. For me, this epitomizes the beauty and uniqueness of Sonoma County.
Otherwise, eating inside during cold months is a cozy and warm experience.
The food is consistently excellent. And there is a big garden onsite that provides much of the fruit and vegetables that is prepared there. This restaurant is truly one of my favorites, and I bring out of town guests here for a big 'wow' impression.
Relatively new rendition of old location redecorated and spruced up. Great menu with choices for all. Vegatarian possible. Quiet and relaxing with inside and outside tables on a warm summer night. Loved beet salad and fried chicken was tasty and moist . Will go again soon.
We have dined here for lunch several times and have always remarked about what a wonderful respite it is in the middle of the Russian River wine country. Hidden away but worth seeking out, it is the perfect compliment to a day of wine tasting or meeting place for that weekend brunch or lunch. Good selection of shared plates and salads for the lighter meal stop. Their local wines are definitely worth adding to a list of winery stops. We always say we'll return for dinner one night which we hear is amazing but never seem to have the designated driver volunteer for the long drive home after. Still, a perfect, beautiful spot.
Surprising food made from locally produced products. Rather small portions and higher-price range, but overall experience is absolutely positive. Nice waitress who let us combine our meal with a wine-tasting experience; if you like wine we surely recommend the wine tasting which normally takes place next to the restaurant...
Best burger I've ever had, and everything else was delicious too! Others had Heirloom BLT and Mary's Chicken Sandwich with Cashew Pistou - all of which came with the amazing paper-thin crispy housemade chips. Desserts were inventive and yummy, too.
This is fresh, local, made-to-order, all in a beautiful space complete with Redwood trees and vineyard views, and we will definitely be back!
If you order a cheese tray for $22, you will receive 1 1/2 ounce of cheese and 5 cheese type crackers, a few nuts and a little bit of honey. Not sure what to do with the honey, except I guess dabble it on the cheese. We ordered some bread for $5 dollars and got 5 pieces of bread, two being very small. I was celebrating my birthday so this was not a good start to the dinner.
When I complained later to the manager if anyone complained about the amount of crackers, he said since there was only 1 1/2 ounces of cheese they did not think more crackers were necessary and then he said you can order more crackers, which is suspect would have been expensive also. I then said that usually when you tell your server, that you are celebrating a special occasion, the restaurant brings something special for you. again when I remarked about this to the same manager, he said that The Russian River Vineyards does not do this unless you are a member.
My mother- in law who is usually the sweetest person, was upset when her husband's hamburger bun was burned. They replaced this.
I felt like a second class citizen at this restaurant.
I think the outside dining area is wonderful, but the food is too expensive for what you get and I felt like a was nickel and dimed. I would not go there again.
My wife and I have been coming here for several years and have really enjoyed what the place has become. The outside dining space is great, the service is usually very good and what they've done with the tasting area with outside tables, charcuterie, tasting, awesome. The only problem we have is the kitchen. The menu is very limited, entrees were chicken, pork loin chop, fish and a vegetarian option, no specials. The entrees are ok but they haven't changed in at least a year. We think the chef is better because the amuse bouche was wonderful, fresh radish from the garden with buttermilk foam and tomato dust, very nice and really tasty. If the kitchen was better this would be a great place to have lunch or dinner.
Outdoor seating on a very serene tree-shaded deck offered a quiet place to enjoy lunch and chat with friends. The lunch menu had a good selection of salads and sandwiches with appetizer plates that looked good too. My crispy pork sandwich was wonderful and came with a side of salad or homemade potato chips. Servers were friendly and very accommodating. Loved this place
Imagine sitting under giant Redwood trees, wonderful live music playing a few feet away, comfy accommodations with great friends. Wonderful staff from the Winery bring our wine tasting menu and off we go, being wowed with lovely libations from the Russian River Winery. After a leisurely tasting of about an hour, we move to the deck where we are served by a wonderful wait staff, starting with local salami and home made pickles, deviled eggs and local greens. Main courses, shared by all, mine a wonderful grass-fed burger with perfectly cooked bacon on top! Even on a hot afternoon, a cool breeze was ever present on the patio. A delightful way of entertaining and celebrating with friends!
