From the time you drive up hill on the dirt road until the final course is served, your senses are constantly being triggered by the beautiful scenery high atop a hill overlooking the Potomac River and wild life wondering the grounds (several deer leisurely went by as we were sitting at our table), the unique presentation of the food, the friendly humor of Ben our server and most of all the creativity of the mouth watering local food served. When the weather permits, there is a beautiful outdoor patio to absorb the view but even if the weather doesn't cooperate sitting inside is like dinning in a greenhouse (climate controlled of course) with the same view as sitting outside. This is my second visit and plan to make many more!

First time here - special occasion. The personalized menu is a very nice touch and was much appreciated. The outdoor view is spectacular. It is definitely worth the drive. A-la-carte offerings on the night we were there. Entrée (brisket) was the star - just phenomenal. Nice cocktail list as well. Wife's dessert was delightful. I found mine a little more savory than preferred. Service started rather strong, but seemed to fade and really took a dive at the end. Was a bit disappointed. Seemed to be forgotten outside after other tables moved in and our server, who was otherwise excellent, got side tracked with a large party. His fellow servers/bussers, etc. stood by while we waited nearly 20 minutes to close out our check.

We went there for our 20th anniversary and I am glad I chose this place. The atmosphere and service were top notch. The scallop cracker snack was a very refreshing start. I can't say we enjoyed every single item that was served (due to us being picky eaters), but the majority of them (especially the sweet pepper risotto, the steak cooked on a hot stone ourselves, the monkfish) was very delicious. Have to say I really had no more room for dessert, but dessert was equally delicious, and the four of us almost finished it.

The food, the view, the service, and the glorious fall day... they were all spectacular! After lunch we took the opportunity to walk up the hill, see the garden, and get a fascinating mini tutorial on organic farming. The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm is truly a Loudoun County gem.

Two diners for Saturday brunch. Perfect fall day, perfect setting, disappointing food. 4 appetizers to pick from and 4 entrees. The arugula salad was very good. The Yukon potato appetizer was odd; a few quarters of potato some with melted cheddar and a few fava greens and a few spots of green sauce. Not appetizing and not enough to justify the high prices. The entrees, Guinea hen and sweet potato pancakes and the braised lamb with fried eggs were mushy, similar in color and texture lacking vegetables. The bread was heavenly.

Last dined over 1 year ago, how things have improved. New chef has raised the bar to a whole level. Food has definitely improved and new service was impeccable. Enjoyed outdoor seating overlooking the river and bridge. It is ca brand new experience, better than before.

We were able to eat outdoors due to the warm weather and it is a beautiful view. The staff could have been more welcoming; we felt as if we were the most important guests there. The food was delicious!. Loved it.

Had a great experience at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. My small group of four went for brunch and had a great time. First and foremost the view was spectacular, overlooking the Potomac River and bridge over RT15 going towards Maryland. Appetizers and Main Course were amazing but I felt like the desert was not as great as the meal preceding it. The live music added to the already great ambience. The owner moved about the tables and was very accommodating when my finicky four year old was not interested in anything on the menu and had something made up just for him. Overall had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

The ambiance here is superb. All the ingredients are sourced from farms and suppliers within a 100 mile radius, ensuring that your meal is fresh and local. You'll be presented with three choices of meals that are meticulously designed to delight your senses. It is a five course taste extravaganza that will leave you surprised at the end of each dish. Not intended for a quick bite or a cheap dinner.

This special restaurant, just over the bridge into Virginia from Point of Rocks, is nestled at the top of a grassy hillside. We were greeted and seated by aproned staff to our table overlooking the valley and the bridge we had just crossed. The prix fixe categories (raised, grown and found) seemed like they could be a bit forced, but turned out to be a creative concept that works. Tasty snacks, amazing home made bread with West Virginia sea salt (ask for the story) were followed by beautiful and delicious dishes. My favorite was the homemade potato chips on top of fresh grilled sardines. We got to experience both outside and inside as it got a bit chilly. Dessert did not disappoint. Magnifique!

My mother and I went here for a special occasion dinner - we still remember it as one of our favorite meals. We got their Grown tasting menu and every dish was divine - we especially liked the ricotta berry sherbet. Gorgeous setting overlooking the Potomac - decor is quirky and different - their focus is clearly very much on a creative menu with high quality ingredients. Best to go during the summer or fall - the restaurant is in a glass enclosed dining room that can get a little chilly! It's exciting to see this restaurant gain in popularity over the years.

The setting, beautiful! The service, top notch! The wine list, excellent! Our complaints: the food was overwrought! Too much going on! Too many flavors on the plate! Too many textures! A little simplicity would have gone a long way towards making the food outstanding. When one is using fine, fresh, locally sourced ingredients, why "play" with them so much?! AND............... nothing arrived at table at the correct temperature. Hots weren't hot. Colds weren't cold.

The owner is appreciative of your presence, the staff try to be fine dining styled but are generally distracted, water glasses are often empty. Quantity of food is on the low end and is priced on the high end.

We went on a gift certificate that we got last Christmas and will be going back often. Everything was fantastic. It's only open Thurs.-Sat. for dinner and we happened to be there on a gorgeous evening and sat overlooking the Potomac River. All of the food was spectacular and the service was excellent, too!

Had read a review in the recent Washingtonian food section and decided to check it out. Unique dining experience. Unusual appetizers and entrées. Wait staff attentive, helpful, and seemed excited to work there. Pricey but worth it for special occasions. Heavy traffic (the norm in this part of Loudoun County) makes getting there difficult but they expect clients to run at least 45 minutes late.

The whole experience was wonderful -- the service, the food, the view. This place is fantastic for a special occasion, or just because. For us, the occasion was that my mom was in town, but this restaurant experience was far more impressive than I had even anticipated (brownie points for me!). Thanks, Potowmack Farm!

First visit. Had a week end brunch. Three courses, four choices. The menu was so creative and sounded so intriguing we wanted to try everything. Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Tasting from each other's dish was fun. All food is either grown on the farm or locally sourced. The beverage selection was top notch, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty mixed drinks and an excellent selection of craft beers and wines by the glass. Service was friendly, attentive, and informative with courses perfectly paced. The farm is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating and mountaintop views. The owner, Beverly is an enthusiastic host, offering a personal touch. We plan to return.

If they were anywhere closer to DC or the Beltway- or even Leesburg - I think they would have a 3-month advance reservation list and would need guards in the parking lot. Beverly is a delight and has traIned a delightful front staff. And the new chef has added a more mature flavor to what has always been outstanding food.

This has changed to a fix prixe menu, which in was a bit pricey for the service and setting. The road up to the restaurant is in desperate need of new gravel, it seems as rutted (or more so) than a year ago. Overall, although the fix prixe limits your choices, the food and preparation was AMAZING. The new chef has changed things for the better.

This is without a doubt one of the most unique places my wife and I have ever dined. The restaurant is situated on the side of a hill looking over the Potomac river. Beautiful scenery... Lovely view! It's LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere. As several other reviewers have mentioned, the menu consists of three, five course meals: Raised, Found, and Grown. Each of the three categories contains dishes prepared from locally grown and raised items. We found ALL of them well prepared and pleasing to the palate. I highly recommend getting the wine pairings as well. We'll DEFINITELY be returning.

We are still talking about this great meal 3 days later. Delicate flavored dishes paired perfectly with interesting local and other wine selections. My dessert was paired with a beer and it went perfectly. Something I would never have done myself. The chef has an amazing talent with pairing foods and flavors that blow your taste buds away! And the setting and view are so serene on a summer evening. We sat outside and were serenaded by cicadas and fireflys. Very romantic. Everything was perfect.

My wife and I drove over a hundred miles from Charlottesville for one of the most memorable evenings of our 32 years of marriage. The view was gorgeous, the wait staff impeccable -- and the food! Absolutely fresh, in unique and imaginative combinations of natural color and flavor, start to finish, served on gorgeous handmade plates. Everything local. "Snacks": Guinea hen liver pate, fried chicken mushrooms. Appetizers: Walla Walla onion with blue crab, canteloupe soup [!]. Entrees: charred brisket, roasted chicken with smoked potato aligot, The desserts!! Goat's milk ice cream with hazelnut oil chiffon, and lemon verbena panna cotta with blackberries. Nothing better than freshness, uniqueness, imagination, and skill. Brilliant!

My husband and I went here to celebrate a special occasion on Saturday night. We hadn't been here since the restaurant changed chefs last year but were pleased to find the food was as delectable as ever. The change in the menu structure was nice in that you didn't have to make tons of decisions. The decor and place settings had also been refreshed since last we came. The service, as always, was impeccable. We ate outside under the tent and had a gorgeous view of the point of rocks bridge and lots of fireflies as the sun went down. They had soft music playing which was a nice addition to the ambience. We ordered the raise and found meals and the portions were perfect for sharing. Favorite bite = profiterole w/ green tea cream filling

As usual, the ambiance, view, food, and company were over the top awesome. Usually the service is too, but I have to admit that on this occasion the service was only just good, there were a couple gaps. We noted that the tables around us, with different service teams, were getting the quality of service that I have always previously experienced at Patowmack Farm, so it looks like an isolated incident.

We were also lucky enough to be there during farm2fork, so the menu was extra fresh and extra delicious. If you go, and it is available, get the chantrelle mushroom appetizer. It is simply amazing.

This is the best restaurant I've ever been to in decades of dining out. The food is incredibly imaginative and inventive. This is a farm to fork restaurant with something for everyone. You can walk around the property and see where the vegetables and herbs and fruits come from. Our server was so patient with all of our questions about the menu and the farm and so knowledgeable. The Camp Ash goat cheese dessert was so fabulous that I just wanted to be left alone in silence with it. Apologies to my dining partner. If you grow any of your own food, you'll be so inspired by this place; you will enjoy it in a whole additional dimension.

This was the first experience for my wife and I at the Farm and while we live just a few miles up the road; the view of Virginia meeting Maryland at the union of the Potomac River was breathtaking. One will be as equally impressed by the presentation of each course in addition to the unbelievable ways ones' taste buds are seduced and overcome with astonishing flavor and texture. Crimini Puree, Asparagus Babaganoush, Oyster Parfait , Ham Hock Risotto, Crab Dumplings, Pork Shoulder, Chamomile Sherbert and Pistachio Oil Chiffon were the incredible creations we enjoyed. However, since the menu changes EACH night; one can only guess at what wonderful surprises lay in wait. Just know that whatever is presented will amaze.
