Fantastic! Imaginative menu in tune with the season. Superbly and repaired and served. Very personal and professional wait staff; among the best in the world. Each course receives a presentation and a card about the area or the course.
Just a very comfortable meal where the chef and staff respect the ingredients. You eat in what was a greenhouse overlooking the Point of Rocks bridge across the Potomac River. A destination you want to make often.
One of the best meals I've ever had. period. And I've had a lot of meals.
We enjoyed a mid-week progressive dinner at Patowmack. The food was meticulously prepared from local (including the farm) and regional sources. This was a multi-course dinner. Each course was exceptional. All 7 of them.
The service was great. The staff was attentive, but not over bearing. We got to sit and enjoy every bite. The menu changes nearly daily.
The presentation was intricate and well thought through.
When making your reservation you can provide dietary restrictions. They are very accommodating.
Brilliant meal in a delightful setting
Favorite kind of eating experience—delicious, creative, fresh, complex but not fussy food and cocktails in a friendly, warm, relaxed and pretty atmosphere. And no food choices to make with the holiday menu format.
Fabulous Easter menu! All locally sourced ingredients prepared with beautiful presentations!
Fantastic as always ... fixed menu but seriously inventive with wonderful flavors and presentations. Cocktails are remarkable as well!
Amazing just doesn't do it Justice! An incredible experience. The food is excellent and the presentation of each dish is remarkable. The creativity of the chef is on a level that needs to be experienced to truly appreciate. Words fall short when describing this establishment. An real treasure!
This was a truly special meal. Every course was inventive and beautifully prepared using ingredients mostly foraged or raised on the farm or locally. There was so much variety. I also appreciated learning the history of the food and the region. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. I choose the wine pairing and each selection was tasty and well suited for the pairing. Really can’t wait to go again during a different season for another adventure.
This is more than dinner, it’s a dining experience. They have created an atmosphere that is unlike any I’ve encountered. The attention to detail is second to none. Coming from DC I’ve paid three times as much for a meal that was a third of the experience I received here. One warning, after eating here you will be disappointed with similarly priced meals in the future. I can’t wait to revisit this summer.
The experience here involves all senses. Every detail is crafted to put the diner in a frame of mind to have the intended experience. The exclusivity of the location. The understated but elegant decor. The attentive but not intrusive wait staff. The instant familiarity of the greeting upon arrival. The detailed discussions before each course. The visual appearance of each dish, the aromas of the food, the feel of each bite, and the blend of the flavors all creates a celebration of eating and appreciation for the vision which the chef creates through food. One dines here not simply to eat but instead to absorb harmony.
Excellent service, great ambiance, beautiful scenery. Food was wonderful and fantastic variety.
Everything was wonderful! We decided to go to lunch as some of the members of our group were not adventurous diners and preferred the ala carte options. The dining room looks very rustic and airy, the music wasn't loud so you could enjoy your conversations, the service was top notch. The servers really knew the food and were able to describe it well. The food itself was creative and delicious. I look forward to coming back during another season when the garden is in full swing.
Awful. Terrible service. Food was lazy and half of it was cold. No presentation just every course plopped down at once. Had to flag the waitress down for a second drink. Wouldn’t recommend to a person I didn’t hate
It is always a pleasure to dine at the Restaurant at Patowmack Farm.
Food and ambiace was fantastic. A bit pricey for lunch. Good for special occassions.
What an interesting menu with most ingredients grown on their farm. Meat sourced local. Very reasonably priced wine list. Made my birthday special with a personalized menu! Food was delicious!! Cannot wait to go back!
This restaurant exceeded our expectations. From the owner, Beverly, and her involvement with the experience to the creativity of each course, we had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, the wine pairings were nicely accomplished. We will surely return.
Food was great had an amazing time beautiful scenery well paced tasting menu
We had an excellent time on our first visit to Restaurant at Potowmack Farm. It was a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion - all of the food was remarkable! We left with full bellies after an amazing 8 course Valentine's Day meal. The staff was so welcoming and made us feel so welcomed. Most of the food is grown on site at the farm, and the rest is locally sourced. Cocktails were one-of-a-kind libations. I recommend going during the day, or at a time of the year when you can use the outdoor seating and view of the Potomac River. Would love to go back!
We decided on this restaurant because we were intrigued by the event menu (Icelandic Cuisine). The food was excellent and afforded us the opportunity to taste dishes we would otherwise not normally try (the salmon head was both unexpected and tasty...). The only "complaint" is that we arrived after sunset, so we didn't get to see much of the surrounding area. Well worth the trip.
Fantastic farm to table restaurant.
Appalachian theme was very creative, dazzled again.
New year’s eve
Had the best dinner for New Years Eve with my man. Will never forget it ! Can't wait to come back and try brunch .
Everything was spectacular. We were celebrating our anniversary and our menus were personalized. The food, presentation, dining experience, wait staff and service were all superb! This rivals any high end DC restaurant!
This was my second time at the restaurant and I left feeling disappointed. It was a bummer because it was my husband’s first time. We were “welcomed” by a surly, male server outside the restaurant. He was so unfriendly, I assumed he worked behind the scenes.m because he seemed bothered by people. He turned out to be a server-not ours thankfully. Our server seemed unprepared and flustered by questions. She frequently had to read food descriptions to respond. She was also totally disinterested, not seeming to care about much.
While our soup was good, the main courses and dessert (a recommendation) were nothing special. In fact we didn’t even eat the dessert.
This is the best place we have ever eaten! The history behind each meal is unbelievable and it is a favorite of ours for date nights/special nights.
The service was fantastic. The owner was gracious and greeted us when arrived. I tried to make small talk with the sommelier and he wasn’t having it. The food just didn’t do it for us. There were a lot of small bites to start but nothing overly creative. A Thai soup that was very salty. And a guinea hog entrée that was chewy and had one of the oddest textures I’ve ever experienced.
The dessert was great but I don’t think we’ll be back, which is a bummer.
We went for our anniversary about a month ago and while eating dinner made a reservation to take my mom here when she came up for thanksgiving weekend which was tonight. It was fantastic. We love this restaurant. The food and is really flavorful and tasty. The presentation is like none other. The service is impeccable .
This was one of our favorite Thanksgiving meals of all time. Originally I thought we might be asked to choose one item from each of the 3 courses; however, it was served family style at our own table and every item on the long menu was brought to our table. Absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend the farm to table restaurant.
Exceptional service and dining experience. We have been once before, a couple of years ago. We have found the food preparations unique, intriguing and satisfying.
The service is absolutely impeccable!
Thanks to the staff of Patowmack Farm for a lovely evening.
We enjoyed a special evening with friends. The food was very creative and special! It was especially interesting as residents of Virginia and all of the historic connections to the native flora.
Outstanding, as always.
I have been to many michelin star restaurants - this meal was one of the best experiences I have had. The progression of the food really told a compelling story. Our server Benjamin was fantastic! We will for sure be back.
Absolutely delicious and wonderful service. The live pianist made the meal perfect
Dad and daughter lunch out
Everything was great - the dessert didn’t match in quality with the rest of the meal which was excellent.
Date night with wife.
Have come half dozen times before.
Outstanding meal, very attentive as polite service. Tasting menu was creative in flavors and presentation. Staff adjusted well to special dietary request we made.
The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm is truly one of the most memorable dining experiences you can have in the Washington, DC area. And their annual Feast in the Forest is an event you will never forget. The Feast in the Forest is a "family style" dining event held on the banks of Catoctin Creek, in the woods where many of the meal's ingredients can be found growing naturally.
Unique, creative dining experience. Food as art in an authentic setting.
Better than The Inn at Little Washington!!!!
