Exceptional service and dining experience. We have been once before, a couple of years ago. We have found the food preparations unique, intriguing and satisfying.
The service is absolutely impeccable!

We enjoyed a special evening with friends. The food was very creative and special! It was especially interesting as residents of Virginia and all of the historic connections to the native flora.

I have been to many michelin star restaurants - this meal was one of the best experiences I have had. The progression of the food really told a compelling story. Our server Benjamin was fantastic! We will for sure be back.

Dad and daughter lunch out
Everything was great - the dessert didn’t match in quality with the rest of the meal which was excellent.

The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm is truly one of the most memorable dining experiences you can have in the Washington, DC area. And their annual Feast in the Forest is an event you will never forget. The Feast in the Forest is a "family style" dining event held on the banks of Catoctin Creek, in the woods where many of the meal's ingredients can be found growing naturally.

We went for the Brunch at the restaurant. We were so excited to try this restaurant having read all the great reviews, however, except for the starters which were wonderful we could barely eat more than a few mouthfuls of our entree and dessert. The food combinations did not work for us at all. What a disappointment.

Amazing view from the dining area. Food was spectacular especially the presentation. We were there to celebrate my friend's birthday and our server went out of her way to surprise us with a birthday greeting and some desserts.

Beautiful spot with creative locally sourced food. While not all dishes hit the mark- especially desserts- those that do are amazing (cucumber and pickled onion salad with fresh mint and Kim chi dressing-wow!).

One of the most delicious and creative meals we've ever had! We were eating foods we'd never even considered trying, and things we'd never experienced before, and all was wonderful. Interesting and entertaining presentations with each course. Excellent wine pairings. Every course a delight. Great service and setting. We'll be going back. Well worth the price and the trip.

Creative chef ! What a wonderful meal and what wonderful service. Thank you for wrapping up the menu for us to take with us so we can look over all the wonderful courses. We decided to order the wine pairings and we were so pleased that we tried so many new wines ....just the right amount of each wine for each course too. Loved the presentations and the helpful description as each course was served .

Lovingly curated multi-course tasting menu built on locally grown and foraged ingredients, including crafted cocktails featuring local distilled spirits infused with on-site cultivated herbs and honey. Indoor and al fresco dining options sited with stunning views of Point of Rocks Bridge, Potomac River, Maryland and Virginia heights. Each presentation artfully prepared and uniquely presented, and thoroughly explained by attentive and friendly servers. Highly recommend the suggested wine parings, which feature world-wide tasting selections that complement and enhance each serving; also the seasonal cocktails that are highly herbal and aromatic. Early sittings ( 5 pm onward) enable simultaneous enjoyment of late afternoon sunlight, shadows, and twilight, so don't be discouraged by limited late evening availability, the farm setting and surrounding landscape are to be savored as much as the cuisine and early sittings maximize this experience. There are little revelations in each course and in each presentation; there is a an exquisite attention to detail, and gracious, welcoming hospitality with a complete absence of pretension. The kitchen's humble respect for each ingredient - whether a milkweed leaf, a loin from local heritage pork, a gleaming, milky oyster, or the freshest blueberries, combined with the evident technical skill with knife and fire, create the building blocks for a dining experience that transcends the sum of its parts. This is a serious and intentional engagement with herbs, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains vegetables, mollusks, fish, and porcine - and in the narratives of food pathways and history, in a perfect setting. Special concern and care are shown each patron, who are contacted several days prior to the visit and asked about food sensitivities. The complete and unique experience makes an evening here a tremendous dining value.

We were celebrating our anniversary. The chef had just won the Rammy for chef of the year and he did not disappoint. The menu was prix fix with a set menu. The dishes were locally sourced and many items came from their own garden. The theme centered around the Indians that were native to the area. Each course was an interesting and inventive, not to mention absolutely delicious, surprise. We were ooing and awwing with every bite. The waiter gave us a detailed explanation of each dish, its source, connection to the Indians as well as the ingredients. It was truly a wonderful experience not to be missed. The menu changes regularly and they always ask about dietary restrictions. Cannot wait for our next visit...

This was a wine dinner with paired wines and food. The overall experience was underwhelming. We've been for brunch and found the restaurant to be five stars across the board. Last night was not the same experience. The wine pours we're tasting size, the food didn't pair well with the wine, and wasn't the same quality as our other experiences. For us, it was a miss at a place that usually hits home runs.

WOW! A gastronomic delight. The 8 course prix fixe menu with wine pairing was well balance. Preparation and presentation can matched any restaurant in the Washington, DC area. An item of note was the poke weed soup - outstanding and unexpected to the point of shocking. The wait staff was attentive, helpful and well informed of our dietary issues. The hilltop view of the Potomac river was awe inspiring with a full moon rising.

We will be back; especially when the Fall foliage is at its peak.

I really wanted to love this place but there were a couple of issues that makes me not want to go back ...
Our waiter was very condescending. Every question was being answered by another question. It was to the point that our friends whom we had taken to this place were "afraid" of asking him questions.
As far as the food I got the fish. And it was lovely! Our friends do not eat seafood and no pork for religious reasons. I was very sirpythat there was no beef or chicken on the menu. Only duck, seafood and pork.
So in a nutshell, my food and the presentation was amazing but the variety and the service was not good.

We enjoyed the service, and the overall experience. If you are a picky eater, this is not the place for you as there is a fixed menu comprised of local and fresh ingredients - great if you like pokeweed soup, not so great if you don't. The food was interesting and displayed creatively. However, some of the presentations were too forced and contrived. For example, the dessert - "Rocky Road" - was comprised of a number of ingredients that brought to mind the famous ice-cream flavor. However, it included very unnecessary freeze dried marshmallows (why ruin homemade marshmallows with a gimmick?) and chocolate ice-cream that also subjected to an unnecessary chemistry trick. Note to chefs - just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. I would recommend The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm for adventurous eaters looking for something new. We enjoyed the wine pairing with our meal. Be warned - the restaurant is off the beaten path and Lyft/Uber are not reliable solutions if you plan to drink. We sat in the greenhouse, which was uncomfortable cold due to blasting air conditioning.

We enjoyed our first visit. Note in the hot summer months that it can be warm there for early dining times (a/c isn't great in the greenhouse style dining room). The food was great and we truly appreciated the thought that went into it along with the storytelling element to the dinner. Will be back again!

One of my top 5 restaurant meals! I loved the references to Native American recipes, the unusual serving platters (hot rocks, logs), the view of the Potomac and Point of Rocks, the literal farm-to-table ingredients. Magical evening!
