One of the best dining experiences ever in VA or anywhere else in the country. Inspiring menu, imaginative preparation, presentation and absolutely delicious dining experience. There are many fancier restaurants which cannot compare to the quality of the ingredients, and the unparalleled taste of the menu, coupled with exceptional service.

Very unique experience. We overall enjoyed ourselves. It was very bizarre they brought out bread for our gluten free item which I was about to eat because they said everything was. I have never had that happen, and then for the waitress to come back and say the chef says gluten free people like their bread. What? Nothing about that made sense. That could have been a serious issue for me, had we lot asked and made sure, if that is true that the chef just wants to do it that way , let your costumers know, because I would have had it but my husband thankfully asked, and I just trusted it was right. If you are paying so much money, I would have thought someone would have offered me something for the mistake, it was bizarre and not what we are used to when dining out. We love the place but we felt it was important to speak on this for other GF people to ask questions.

Great lunch experience. We've been there for dinner, and were not able to take advance of the view (it was dark). The food, service, and overall ambience made for a perfect early Mother's Day.

Truly unforgettable experience! Every stage of the 9 course menu featured locally sourced produce and even locally foraged herbs and was packed with perfectly balanced and unique flavors. Served in a fun way, with a stunning view over Point of Rocks on the Potomac. Service was top notch. Perfect in every way.

The ambiance is a country farm, so not fancy. I was overdressed in a dress. But the site has a beautiful view of rolling hills and the Potomac River. The food was excellent and the service matched.

Just wonderful start to finish. The venue is lovely, with incredible vistas of the mountains. The food was outstanding and unique, as was the presentation and the staff's approach. They were informed and attentive without hovering. All of them were delightful. Our dinner was a 30th college reunion of roommates, and we all traveled to be there. Well worth it!

This isn't a restaurant for just anyone. This is a restaurant for people who view dining as an emotional, all senses engaged Experience. The same people who may be just as happy at their local diner because it's all about the sense of camaraderie/familiarity but who appreciate a truly creative chef and restaurant in proper context. And "judge" each, quite differently - and yet, somehow the same because we're talking about how a restaurant can make you feel. Chef Tarver King and his team have created a bit of a culinary wonderland, almost off the beaten track, utilizing foraged local ingredients and sustainable goods. How did I feel when we got up from our table and made our way back to our lodging ? Loved. Fully sated, satisfied and, quite frankly, giddy ! It is clear that this restaurant not only loves what they do but takes true pleasure in finding new ways to engage their guests. I felt honored to sit at their table.

All of that said - yes, yes, yes to the greenhouse. Who in the world does not like to dine outside or almost outside, with a view ?! And, to be greeted with glasses of a most excellent Cava sent to us by the barkeep at the local distillery, Catoctin Creek Distilling, whom we had visited the day before ? Small town gestures in a big way.

The food - oh the wonderful description defying food. As a preface, pay attention to the dishes, bowls, pottery, plants, furniture and wood serving pieces as they fit the venue, food and handmade small batch "goods". Each course arrives with a somewhat complex description of each dish - if you remember every ingredient, good on you. Each course also arrives with a card that gives a "mission statement" to the ingredients - and without going into a plate by plate description of every single delicious thing we ate, will simply say "Thank you Chef and team for one of the most stellar dining experiences of our lives."

The location of the restaurant is excellent Internet foothills of the Blue Ridge, overlooking the Potomac. Quiet and lovely when you can sit outside. The food once five star quality has declined over the years and while the chef occasionally surprises with a unique dish, most are ordinary and unremarkable. The service is just adequate. I would recommend only for the view in the warm weather

A perfect restaurant for a special occasion. My wife really enjoyed her birthday there. The service is not only great, but the staff really knows the background of the food and what creates the great flavor. I say it is great for a special occasion, because there are a lot of courses, so you have a nice time to talk. The food is out of this world. I have never had a oyster that was this sweet. The presentation of every course is unique, from the red buds to put on top of the first course to the steak cooked on a stone for the main course.

My husband and I had an excellent experience at the Patowmack Farm. The service was wonderful, the food was outstanding, and the wine pairing was perfect.
My only con would be that Potowmack Farm was very pricey. But I can blame myself for not looking at the prices prior to making reservations.
