Excellent dining and outstanding service from Chris and the Patowmack staff!
Our Compliments to Chef! Extraordinary experience!
Great experience, exceptional service, and delicious food
Truly an amazing dining experience in a unique and special venue. Worth the hype. Will be back!
Amazing dinner! I would highly recommend dining here. We will be back as soon as possible.
The food was absolutely fantastic along with great service to match. The whole staff was very attentive and you cannot beat the view. We will definitely be back!
The view and ambiance were top notch. My friend, Carol, and I enjoyed the Sunday brunch especially the Radish soup and beignets.
This was such a treat! You knew you were in good hands from the moment you walk in the door. I have not stopped talking about it and recommending it to all. I can’t wait until Spring so I can return try the different seasonal offerings and also to see how the landscape has changed.
Innovative menu using many grown-on-property ingredients. Beautifully served courses on unique dishes by exceptionally knowledgeable staff. Good wine list and helpful sommelier. Best of all, they were happy to adjust my dinner for gluten sensitivity. Definitely a place to return to.
As perfect! The food is as creative as you will find anywhere. Flavors are exceptional. Service is five-star.
It was a very fun experience, but very over priced for what was offered. We could have gone to a 5 star restaurant and come out for less with very good quality and much more quantity of food. You certainly were paying for the experience vs the food itself.
This was our second time here and we brought first time friends with us. The restaurant is so lovely and it’s great to have something like this around, but there were a few things that weren’t great (especially for the price). Everyone is extremely friendly but there were just a few things that made us rate 3 stars. We mentioned one of us at the table couldn’t have anything raw or any organ meats (due to being pregnant) but the first course was raw oysters, patè, and fish eggs. I do think we should have called and mentioned it to them Before arriving instead of when we were first sat, but even after the server said she would tell the chef, they didn’t bring out any substitute and so she just sat unable to eat anything for the first course. They could have at least brought something small for her to enjoy. They forgot to serve us our final port wine during desert (which they brought once we mentioned it but it was late enough that dessert was done) and then there was a long hair wrapped up in my ice cream. That sort of thing does happen, so we didn’t make a big deal of it, but I thought certainly with all the hiccups throughout the meal the would have taken at least a glass of wine off the bill but they didn’t. We paid over $600 for an ok experience but certainly not great.
The first time we went was really great and interesting, but this second time had made us decide not to return.
Hopefully anyone reading this has a positive experience like the first time we went.
The perfect kind of relaxing, delicious, leisurely brunch for a Sunday afternoon. The food was amazing and fresh, and I really appreciated the care with which the staff addressed some food allergies in our party. I would make a point to get back out to Lovettsville and go again - perhaps next time for dinner.
The chef is obviously very talented and the ingredients are of high quality. After the appetizers it however went downhill. The problem is a common one — chefs employing their feverish imagination to experiment with a combination of flavors only few of which succeed and many best not repeated except if you hold some specific fetish — for example bland chicken roast on a bed of rice soaked in vinegar. Or a halfway flavorful pistachio soufflé that dissolved into a half a jar of thick oats porridge. The problem is not a bad chef but an immodest one — he should learn from his more sublime but simply flavored bread biscuits. Experimenting is good but only if you share with your diners what succeeds. Otherwise your diners are just guinea pigs subsidizing your experiments, good and terrible. Otherwise great view and friendly staff. Tom Siestema at the Post too of course shares some of the blame — an immodest critic looking for the out of the ordinary which off course defines experimental cuisine. Perhaps the restaurant should offer half price experimental dishes and full price on the successes? That way the risk of innovations gets more fairly shared?
What a delightful gem of a restaurant! A stunning view, hospitable service, interesting decor, and delicious, diverse, and hearty food straight from the local farm. It was a terrific place to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely return!
Every aspect of our experience was outstanding. The flavors were exceptional, and the staff’s attention to detail was superb. We highly recommend!!!
We come here every couple of months because the food and overall experience is unfailingly outstanding. Each course features unusual combinations of tastes and, in our case, was marked by a superb wine pairing. This is the very best in fine cuisine.
An amazing experience i smell a Michelin star coming soon
Eclectic, delicious and unique dining experience. Great experience.
One of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had.
Such a gem!! Food and service were exceptional. Great atmosphere and we will be back for sure.
Went there for my bday and food and service was excellent! They had a personalized menu for me. Can't wait to come back during warm and sunny weather to see the view and sit outside. Only item was the noise level, but definitely coming back!
Great for a special occasion. It is worth the hour drive from most of the metro area.
We always enjoy the beautiful setting and delicious cuisine at Patowmack Farm Restaurant. The view of the bucolic countryside (with distant glimpses of the Potomac River) is peaceful. The outside terrace ambiance and the inside "greenhouse" ambiance are unique for this region. The chef is very creative in the selection and presentation of the "farm to table" menu. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. We appreciated their excellent service. The spacing of the tables provides a quiet atmosphere for relaxed conversation. We especially savored their Thanksgiving feast -- for which we were very grateful.
My favorite restaurant.
Always an adventure in food and drink.
The lunch was a wonderful experience and worth the trip.
Went for dinner to celebrate husband's birthday, and what a special night. Every member of the staff that came to our table wished him a happy birthday, and were so warm and welcoming. The food was off the charts from presentation, flavor, and creativity. We loved every.single.minute. Can't wait to go back to try their brunch!
The experience of dinner was marvelous -- the procession of the dishes was expertly timed, and the food/wine pairings were excellent. Service was smooth and supportive, with little delights. I found the continuation of the flavor through the dishes to be revelatory, as I am certain the chef hoped.
Great service. Fun food. Enjoyed chat with owner and waiter. Less smoke and needs more outdoor lighting in parking lot.
We have always enjoyed the Sunday suppers. November's edition, featuring Japanese cuisine, met/exceeded our high expectations! The tailored mixed drink and sake options added a special touch to a menu that brought back fond gastronomic memories of our travels in Japan....
Amazing food! Amazing staff! Amazing view! Absolutely recommend coming here!
Dakota was an amazing server. The food was top notch and the views were breathtaking! We will be back!!!
Always a fabulous, innovative meal with fantastic staff, and the owner dropping by for a chat. I love this restaurant!
Beautiful presentation from very knowledgable waiters! Everything was wonderful. Just may have needed a little guidance on craft cocktails. Loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Fabulous wait staff! Thank You!
Beautiful scenery and location, enjoyed my brunch with my husband. The service is implacable and one of the best Bloody Mary I have ever had, can’t wait yo go back.
Patowmack Farm never disappoints- creative food, wonderfully presented. The specialty cocktails are a treat! The wait staff is superb. Highly recommend.
The occasion for this meal was a lunch with a rarely-visiting grand aunt, two couples and a 15-month old toddler. Even on a bleak day in November, the setting is spectacular. And this restaurant really does absolutely everything in its power to make your dining experience special and memorable. We started with cocktails, including a handcrafted rum-based one for me, and “mocktails” for my pregnant stepdaughter and her tee-totaling husband. Do NOT skip the “bread service”, which on this visit was a hot homemade English muffin with sweet hickory butter (the bread in question varies). Amazing! The waitstaff will guide you well in helping to sort out the menu; sometimes it is hard to decode an unusual ingredient or determine how filling a particular appetizer plate will be. (But at least there is no silly “shared plate” expectation! — order and eat your own damn food.) two of us did a wild rice and mushroom soup as a starter — deemed exceptional — and two of us did a radish tartine which, as billed, was a good light start to the meal. Of the entree options, among the five of us we tried three: fried chicken (amazing), catfish (ditto), and brisket. Each dish was exquisitely conceived, prepared and delivered. We did two desserts as well, including a pear-ginger soufflé which was spectacular. The tab was not cheap — not by any stretch — but for an exceptional meal, particularly in this neck of the woods, you can’t do better.
Always a wonderful experience - food / service.
Amazing food and service!!!
My husband and I had a memorable birthday meal (his) at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. Our waiter and his colleagues delivered the food, and the detailed information about the food, exceptionally well, and were also personable and welcoming. We have not for a long time experienced such a variety of flavors, the vast majority of which we enjoyed immensely. The only "downside" was for my husband, who felt that there was a little too much salt for his taste. (This was a little surprising, given that I am usually the one who is extra sensitive to salt and I didn't have any such issues.) Believe it or not, I especially enjoyed the experience of having the chef determine the menu for me! The only thing I had to think about was what cocktail and wine to choose - and our waiter was very helpful with that as well! It was a great experience - thanks!!
