Patowmack Farm is an exquisite dining experience. For anyone locally who has not tried this restaurant, you are missing out on an unforgettable dining occasion. The food and the service are one of a kind. The owner has truly outdone herself in the creativity put forth from the chef to the entire staff. Way to go Patowmack Farm!!
This was probably one of the most memorable dinners we have ever had. The beauty of the food and the unique flavors from beginning to end were something I've never experienced before. I hope that everyone tries the Restaurant at Patowmack Farm at least once. We plan to go back each season to experience the variety of joy they have to offer.
Been here twice, and the food is outstanding, as is the service. Went for an anniversary and we had customized menus! All the food was flavorful and delicious. Will definitely be back!
Excellent spot to treat yourself to a delicious, adventuresome dinner. But don't go in the dark for your first time. Driving there and back is a feat. Also we missed any views in the dark. Will certainly be happy to return in daylight.
Had a wonderful evening at the Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. We were celebrating out 32 wedding anniversary and the meal could not have been better. We'd planned on dining there long before now and could kick ourselves for waiting so long. Can't wait to get back there and enjoy another marvelous meal.
This place is fabulous! We had an early reservation and were first to arrive here. They made us feel welcome, the owner came and spoke with us and the service and food were excellent. We plan on many return trips!
Fun and a little quirky. More approachable and less pretentious than expected. Nice warm atmosphere with lovely views. Staff was welcoming and engaging. Food had very interesting ingredients and layers of flavor. Only minor critique is that the cornbread waffles were a little dry. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic meal, intimate, exquisite, absolutely unique.
Once again we enjoyed a wonderful brunch. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was outstanding. The presentations were unique. The dishes almost seem to go with the particular food being served. Flavors were terrific for both of our entrees.
Love the food, atmosphere, Everything!
Phenomenal food and wait staff. The view from the dining room and patio is amazing.
One word ... AMAZING!!!
Each and every visit is a solid ELEVEN!! The food is incredibly creative and the tastes are phenomenal. Fun and creative course after course. Great for special events, as the location is beautiful, but you can comfortably go every month, as the menu changes with regularity. As good as it gets!
Service, ambience and food were outstanding! Enjoyed the whole experience!
This was a dual birthday gift to our daughter and son-in-law (we were babysitting the children), so our review is based on their unsolicited comments: Incredible and inventive menu even with the Gluten-free restriction, the service was attentive and paced perfectly. A worthy Anniversary/birthday present.
Overall positive experience with a few negatives. Service was excellent and very attentive however, the wait staff stumbled thru the descriptions of nearly every dish and paired wine. The flavors of the dishes were varied and inventive. The way the dishes were served with different plates, materials, and vessels was also very interesting and inventive. Not much color in the dishes due to the winter season. Would like to come back in season for fresh garden produce. The worst dish was the scallop. The scallop had no sear on it whatsoever and was way over cooked and rubbery. It should be creamy inside. Also, some of the dishes were not very warm, probably due to serving from the outside kitchen. I did not feel that some of the paired wines complemented the dishes especially the sweet dessert wine with a sweet dessert. The extras like a personal menu and take home treat were nice. We really like the concept of the restaurant and what they are trying to do, but feel they are not quite there yet. Definitely not worth the $400 we paid. Maybe one day. 3.5 stars is more appropriate.
2 people, 420 dollars. not what it use to be nor even close.
Outstanding as always! The flavors, combinations, and presentations were exquisite!
A perfect way to celebrate a 30th wedding anniversary with the one you love!
What a treat... I’ve been looking forward to dining at Patowmack Farm for a while. Patowmack was one of the first “Farm to Table” restaurants in the US. True to their branding “They offer a rare experience with a breathtaking view and natural setting overlooking the Potomac River.” Every course was better than the last. If you’re looking for a wonderful dining experience, look no further. Here’s a quick peek at our brunch experience...
“Isle of Last Words” craft cocktail - Chartreuse, Lime, Luxardo, Talisker Storm, Lemon Verbena. 🍋
Bread service: onion bialle with sesame cream cheese. 🥯
Fennel Salad with sprouted rye berries, Aronia Vinaigrette, Pumpkin Seeds, and Tomme.
Pork Liver Parfait with hickory gastrique, mushroom dukkah, malted rye, and kale. 🥬 🐖
This was outstanding. I ate the whole thing!!! Stuffed cabbage with roasted chicken, lemon drippings, purée potatoes, dill, and bacon. 🐓 🥔 🥓 🍋
Grilled Pork Shoulder with pinto beans, country ham, wild rice, and a fried egg.
Hazelnut Mousse with chocolate Frangelico sauce, cacao, and toasted meringue.
Absolute gem in the middle of NOWHERE Virginia, but worth the drive, even from Capitol Hill! And very scenic, with a view of the Point of Rocks river and bridge. Every time we have eaten here the menu has offered something different, but always extremely creatively prepared and presented. Servers are knowledgeable and make good suggestions if you have a question about an item. Soups are always a hit, the rutabaga soup this time was amazing. Three of us ordered the crispy lamb, which was exceptional. Portions are extremely generous, I took a lunch-sized portion of the lamb home in a doggie bag. I do not have a sweet tooth but the couple who shared a dessert (something with hazelnut and chocolate) ate every crumb. This is NOT a "kid-friendly" restaurant in that there is no children's menu; still there were several babies in attendance this weekend and one very well-behaved 5- or 6-year old, although not sure what she ate. As our kids live 8 minutes away in Tuscarora, MD, this is our go-to "nice" restaurant in the area.
The food and service were amazing. We are so glad we came here for our anniversary dinner.
Very nice place, excellent service ... but this time the food (New Year's day menu) was not up to our previous experiences. It was uneven and, as a result, the meal overall a disappointment.
Absolutely delicious. Wonderful, creative food and beautiful setting. Definitely a favorite. And love, love, love their pistachio gelato!
We had a wonderful brunch at Patowmack. The service was friendly and familiar, and paced nicely. We felt cared for and not rushed. The food was incredible- every person in our party was so impressed with the composition of the dishes and how delicious they were. The views can’t be beat!
Food, cocktails, atmosphere. Everything was exceptional
Delicious food that really lived up to the hype without being over the top pretentious. Great place for a special occasion dinner.
This is the 2nd year that I’ve trekked out to the Farm pre-Christmas and it did not disappoint. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
An overall incredible experience! And the food was out of this world. The staff was so attentive, knowledgeable and professional. We can't wait to return and see what other magic Chef King Craver has up his sleeve.
Incredible experience. The staff was amazing and made the dinner so special. They walked us through every course and the chefs inspiration for the meals. Each dish was better than the last!
GREAT experience. Spectacular food, so well prepared and phenomenally presented by knowledgeable waiters.
Simply unbelievable. Each dish was unbelievable. Lots of surprises Loved the homage to the Piscataway Indians
This is my third time at Patowmack and my friends 15th time or so. We have dined all over and find this to be the best value and just an awesome experience. The chef is a creative genius. We have been to the Inn at Little Washington and spent double what we spent at Patowmack yet the experience was not as good. We don't understand why the Inn has these Michelin stars when Patowmack doesn't. We have come to the conclusion that Michelin is rigged or political. Anyway, you can tell the chef is passionate. Every bite is an explosion of flavor. You think "how is this going to taste" because you can't imagine it going well together, but it is the perfect balance of flavors! The drive might be a little long, but so worth it. Every time you go there it will be a different experience. He does not repeat dishes, and if he does it is varied a bit. I would be devastated if this place did not exist! The owner is a lovely lady who walks around and greets you. It is a casual/rustic atmosphere that seems homey. I love this place!!!!
We have been going here for almost 9 years now and every time is exciting and lovely! The food is amazing, the wait staff is kind, knowledgable, and good at providing a high level service experience. Beverly is a tremendous woman who greets each guest during their meal and instantly makes you feel like a friend. We'll be back again and again.
Always a treat to attend "Sunday Supper" Outstanding food, and always lean something as well.
Our foursome was delighted with each dish -- appetizers, entrees and desserts. It's a truly special cuisine, boasting organic and locally sourced, exceptions being the wines (entirely NOT Virginian -- why? Probably because the world-wide selection was simply superior?) and the cocktail ingredients. Oh, and the cocktails were really uniquely prepared (the Potowmack Old Fashioned being particularly outstanding). The view of the Potomac Bridge (US 15) was dramatic and lovely. Plan a visit as part of any trip to Leesburg.
A unique and special experience, ideal for a significant birthday celebration. Food quality was excellent both in terms of taste and presentation. Ours was a set menu evening, which was great for us, but not so good for the kids. A minor downside though, that was down to us. Will definitely go back in the summer for an outdoor dining opportunity.
Definitely a place to go for the experience, but we probably won’t return. The food was ok, but portions were small and we left hungry. One alarming point: the swordfish was told to be presented “medium rare” but was absolutely rare and raw in the middle. Swordfish is not a fish you can safely undercook. Several dishes were also received cold, most likely because it was carried from the kitchen into the dining room through the outdoors. Staff was warm and they all worked together to care for the guests but more than one struggled to explain and identify the dishes.
This meal fell short of all expectations. Our dinner for two with wine pairings came to ~$420. At this price point you would expect a meal that exceeds all expectations not th contrary. Our main course was tough steak and the wine pourings were no where close to generous. I will urge any friend who asks me about this place not to pay for this lackluster experience.
The service was at a very high level, and the food even higher. For me, the bread service (for two) topped with a quail egg was wonderful. The highlight was the Celery Soup! It reminded me of a warm, comforting veloute and was absolutely delicious!
Was Awesome! Amazing food - utterly delicious and super wine pairings that was great value. Special place! Service was excellent
