The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm

Sourcing food and fulfilling our goals of supporting small local artisan growers and producers and utilizing our farm as the chefs pantry gives us the opportunity to create an evolving menu that draws its inspiration from the seasons and in harmony with the earth. The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm presents a venue with a breathtaking view and natural setting overlooking the Potomac River. Our farm to your table presents local, organic, seasonal cuisine. Dining Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening, Saturday or Sunday brunch, Sunday supper, a wedding, rehearsal dinner, corporate or special event – we strive to exceed your dreams. The chefs innovative and skillfully executed dishes follow the lead of nature, being mindful of the environment.
A fabulous experience in a romantic setting. Food was incredible. A real treat. A very special place.
Our family has been a resident of Loudoun County for over 15 years- my point being, I wish we had come to your restaurant sooner! Everything was delightful and I hope to make this a restaurant of choice for birthdays, mother's day, etc. in the future. Thank you! We especially loved the parsnip soup, beef brisket, and the light and scenery :)
Excellent anniversary dinner here: welcoming service, very interesting courses (but more than interesting, tasty!) Appreciated that the tables were far apart, given the Covid-19 risk. Beautiful views over the Potomac. One small drawback: it was chilly at our table near the door. A few space heaters might help.
The Chilean-inspired Sunday Supper was fantastic! The dishes placed on our table were a veritable feast for the eyes and palate - beautifully presented, interesting and delicious flavors, and the wine the sommelier recommended paired perfectly with our meal.
This is was our second visit to Potowmack Farm, the first being a Progressive Dinner menu a few weeks ago for a friend's 60th birthday. It was one of the best dining experiences of our lives (and we've had some good ones all over the world). We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves and appreciates great food and creative culinary/dining experiences.
DELICIOUS FOOD! Very beautiful view and wonderfully calming and inviting. The food was delicious! Every course! Creative menu and wonderful ambiance - gently spoken waiters helpful and kind. The price was good for a locally sourced high end meal, (I live in the DC so for me it was low priced high end meal). 10/10 for me— would highly recommend!
Wonderful restaurant. Beautiful setting, lovely views, terrific service, delicious and unusual food. Only wish that they could teleport me home aftewards!
Chef Tarver continues exceed expectations, each and every time. Each dish is a creative masterpiece. If you’re looking for a culinary experience, this is a must go. A true artist.
The only complaint we had was that the restaurant assured us that they would accommodate pescatarians but the rolls were fried in beef fat which we could not eat and they did not offer us an alternative. Also, the final candy course included a truffle with bacon which we couldn't eat and not only did they not have a substitute for it, but I had to ask if we could get something to replace it. For such a wonderful restaurant otherwise, this seemed really out of character.
Great dining experience and incredible view. The personalized menu is a lovely touch.
Outstanding food and service. A special occasion type of restaurant but worth the trip for the explosion of flavours. The best food we've eaten in a long time!
This is one of the most extraordinary restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. In the Washington, DC, area, it rival - and sometimes betters - even the Inn at Little Washington.
Excellent dining and outstanding service from Chris and the Patowmack staff!
Our Compliments to Chef! Extraordinary experience!
Great experience, exceptional service, and delicious food
Truly an amazing dining experience in a unique and special venue. Worth the hype. Will be back!
Amazing dinner! I would highly recommend dining here. We will be back as soon as possible.
The food was absolutely fantastic along with great service to match. The whole staff was very attentive and you cannot beat the view. We will definitely be back!
The view and ambiance were top notch. My friend, Carol, and I enjoyed the Sunday brunch especially the Radish soup and beignets.
Second trip to Patowmack Farm. Food was good, but we felt that it was focusing too much on the artsy side this go round. Food was still amazing, just not as enticing as the first trip
This was such a treat! You knew you were in good hands from the moment you walk in the door. I have not stopped talking about it and recommending it to all. I can’t wait until Spring so I can return try the different seasonal offerings and also to see how the landscape has changed.
Innovative menu using many grown-on-property ingredients. Beautifully served courses on unique dishes by exceptionally knowledgeable staff. Good wine list and helpful sommelier. Best of all, they were happy to adjust my dinner for gluten sensitivity. Definitely a place to return to.
As perfect! The food is as creative as you will find anywhere. Flavors are exceptional. Service is five-star.
It was a very fun experience, but very over priced for what was offered. We could have gone to a 5 star restaurant and come out for less with very good quality and much more quantity of food. You certainly were paying for the experience vs the food itself.
This was our second time here and we brought first time friends with us. The restaurant is so lovely and it’s great to have something like this around, but there were a few things that weren’t great (especially for the price). Everyone is extremely friendly but there were just a few things that made us rate 3 stars. We mentioned one of us at the table couldn’t have anything raw or any organ meats (due to being pregnant) but the first course was raw oysters, patè, and fish eggs. I do think we should have called and mentioned it to them Before arriving instead of when we were first sat, but even after the server said she would tell the chef, they didn’t bring out any substitute and so she just sat unable to eat anything for the first course. They could have at least brought something small for her to enjoy. They forgot to serve us our final port wine during desert (which they brought once we mentioned it but it was late enough that dessert was done) and then there was a long hair wrapped up in my ice cream. That sort of thing does happen, so we didn’t make a big deal of it, but I thought certainly with all the hiccups throughout the meal the would have taken at least a glass of wine off the bill but they didn’t. We paid over $600 for an ok experience but certainly not great.
The first time we went was really great and interesting, but this second time had made us decide not to return.
Hopefully anyone reading this has a positive experience like the first time we went.
The perfect kind of relaxing, delicious, leisurely brunch for a Sunday afternoon. The food was amazing and fresh, and I really appreciated the care with which the staff addressed some food allergies in our party. I would make a point to get back out to Lovettsville and go again - perhaps next time for dinner.
The chef is obviously very talented and the ingredients are of high quality. After the appetizers it however went downhill. The problem is a common one — chefs employing their feverish imagination to experiment with a combination of flavors only few of which succeed and many best not repeated except if you hold some specific fetish — for example bland chicken roast on a bed of rice soaked in vinegar. Or a halfway flavorful pistachio soufflé that dissolved into a half a jar of thick oats porridge. The problem is not a bad chef but an immodest one — he should learn from his more sublime but simply flavored bread biscuits. Experimenting is good but only if you share with your diners what succeeds. Otherwise your diners are just guinea pigs subsidizing your experiments, good and terrible. Otherwise great view and friendly staff. Tom Siestema at the Post too of course shares some of the blame — an immodest critic looking for the out of the ordinary which off course defines experimental cuisine. Perhaps the restaurant should offer half price experimental dishes and full price on the successes? That way the risk of innovations gets more fairly shared?
What a delightful gem of a restaurant! A stunning view, hospitable service, interesting decor, and delicious, diverse, and hearty food straight from the local farm. It was a terrific place to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely return!
Every aspect of our experience was outstanding. The flavors were exceptional, and the staff’s attention to detail was superb. We highly recommend!!!
We come here every couple of months because the food and overall experience is unfailingly outstanding. Each course features unusual combinations of tastes and, in our case, was marked by a superb wine pairing. This is the very best in fine cuisine.
An amazing experience i smell a Michelin star coming soon
Eclectic, delicious and unique dining experience. Great experience.
One of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had.
Such a gem!! Food and service were exceptional. Great atmosphere and we will be back for sure.
Went there for my bday and food and service was excellent! They had a personalized menu for me. Can't wait to come back during warm and sunny weather to see the view and sit outside. Only item was the noise level, but definitely coming back!
Great for a special occasion. It is worth the hour drive from most of the metro area.
We always enjoy the beautiful setting and delicious cuisine at Patowmack Farm Restaurant. The view of the bucolic countryside (with distant glimpses of the Potomac River) is peaceful. The outside terrace ambiance and the inside "greenhouse" ambiance are unique for this region. The chef is very creative in the selection and presentation of the "farm to table" menu. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. We appreciated their excellent service. The spacing of the tables provides a quiet atmosphere for relaxed conversation. We especially savored their Thanksgiving feast -- for which we were very grateful.
My favorite restaurant.
Always an adventure in food and drink.
The lunch was a wonderful experience and worth the trip.
Went for dinner to celebrate husband's birthday, and what a special night. Every member of the staff that came to our table wished him a happy birthday, and were so warm and welcoming. The food was off the charts from presentation, flavor, and creativity. We loved every.single.minute. Can't wait to go back to try their brunch!
The experience of dinner was marvelous -- the procession of the dishes was expertly timed, and the food/wine pairings were excellent. Service was smooth and supportive, with little delights. I found the continuation of the flavor through the dishes to be revelatory, as I am certain the chef hoped.
