The Restaurant at Merrill House
Thursday nights, in addition to our regular menu, diners can enjoy a Carte Blanche tasting menu, from which you may choose three, four, five, or six courses. Local or Old World wine pairings are optional but highly recommended.
Due to our limited capacity, we do ask for a credit card to secure your place in the dining room.
Please contact us directly by phone to reserve for parties of 8 or more.
Food is amazing (would be nice to have vegetarian or vegan options that are not meals made with mushrooms).
Staff are amazing, friendly and competent.
Very quaint and appealing atmosphere
We have frequented this restaurant for years. The food and service have always been great. We will return again.
Food was amazing!!!! Would highly recommend for creativity and service!!
Classic French cuisine with a County twist. Michael Sullivan never disappoints.
Good food, great wine selection.
Another fabulous meal. Great wine pairings with a lovely dinner. The Merrill is under new ownership - and the changes are starting to become evident. The wait staff had odd blouses with military epaulettes and the decor was an odd mishmash of patterns and styles, as was the upstairs parlour. Design challenges aside - a great place for dinner.
Outstanding service, food and ambience. Visited this local gem for our 29th anniversary and we weren't disappointed. We have been coming for years, as long as the chef has been here and the food is always delicious and beautifully presented.
A wonderful night out. Really good food, pleasant and efficient service. Fun doing the local wine tasting flight.
The food and service were excellent. They easily accommodated my dietary restrictions. Excellent choice of local county wines.
The mise en bouche was good but a bit salty. The presentation of the amuse-gueule was very good, it was tasty, but the salmon tasted like it was out of a can. The bison entrée was a delight; really tasty and tender, and the mise en plat was outstanding. The dessert was nothing special. The price of the wine is outrageous, almost 3 times what it costs in the LCBO.
The service was excellent, very nice staff.
Overall too pricey for what you get.
Very charming dining area, food was very good and many choices, catered to some dietary issues, and a good mixture of flavours and ingredients. Fresh and tasty combinations. Staff was courteous and helpful. Not rushed, able enjoy tea and have a good visit. Love all the light from the big windows to the garden. Will be back to try a dinner experience.
