The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea Ratings and Reviews
a wonderful location, hotel and restaurant. beautiful views of the ocean and sunset. Food is creative and well done, though menu somewhat limited. Very nice wine list but weighted towards very expensive wines--though we found a wonderful new wine for ourselves that was well priced. Highly recommend for that special occasion or celebration!
The Restaurant was our top dinning experience and most memorable meal in Maui. We have dined at many of the best restaurants on the island but this took the prize. From ambiance to service to the food to the wine, everything was spot on. This will be a regular stop for us on our returns to Maui.
We had a wonderful experience for Thanksgiving dinner. The sunset from this property is amazing, the service was impeccable and attentive. Special menu and the turkey dinner was very good. Can't wait to go back for their regular menu, the oysters Rockafeller were superb, they come flaming and makes the ingredients so tasty!!!
Thanksgiving Eve dinner. Mark gave us great (friendly; knowledgable about each dish; low-key, not high-pressure; professional) service. Oysters on half shell from Washington State, expertly seasoned (Mignonette sauce, subtle vinegar; with pickled radish), plump, tasty, beautifully/uniquely presented on pebbles/mini-river rocks. Grilled Tako (octopus) perfectly cooked. Kampachi Crudo very good (3 had it 3 nights in a row in Honolulu restaurants as well). Broiled Maine Lobster with Dungeness Carb satisfied our shellfish cravings; light, not too rich. Colorado Lamb Chops plump and moist. And of course, signature Sunflower/Pumpkin Seed rolls with honey butter. Unfortunately, Pumpkin Souffle for dessert was sold out, but it sounded good and seasonally appropriate.
I just sent a review which I understood would be a private message to the restaurant at the Wailea Hotel. I do NOT want my review posted for everyone to see....I want only the personnel at the restaurant to see it. Please make sure this is the case. Mary Magnano
We had two fish dishes that were among the most remarkable seafood recipes we have ever eaten. We live in Seattle and Maui so we don't say this casually. Our entire meal was Michelin 1 star quality for the food. Service was friendly and efficient but not as knowledgeable as one might anticipate given the extraordinary cuisine. But in the big picture, Bravo.... keep it up.
We dined at this superb restaurant for dinner on 11/5/17 and our waiter, Chris, was outstanding. We would give the food a 20/10, the service a 20/10. We were on vacation and ate at several of the high end restaurants in the Wailea area and none of them were memorable meals. The only memorable meal that we had during our vacation was the meal at this restaurant.
What a fabulous dining experience we had! We’ve been celebrating our anniversary at The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea for the past 5 years. It never disappoints, and it only gets better. Our server Chris was amazing. He was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. He was polite, professional and an all-around wonderful guy. The food is awesome. The mix of different flavors and textures were outstanding. Every dish seemed to center around a specific ingredient and carried through in a way that tied it all together. The restaurant was also very accommodating. It was windy and cold the night we were there and they gave out shawls to the women who were dining there. How considerate is that?!?! This is a restaurant not to miss! We can’t wait to return next year!
Hotel Wailea Restaurant has an excellent view, the food looks nice but the taste lacks when compared to Capiche . I have eaten there twice and neither time was the food all that great. It is a disappointment with such an incredible setting and one of the best views for sunset you could have. Maybe concentrate on taste rather than presentation .
Great fresh fish, wonderful friendly staff. First night in Maui and we decided to treat ourselves. Very beautiful hotel and scenic views were a pleasant surprise. Very attentive staff and professional culinary skills were shown with the attention to detail with the pallet cleanser.
This restaurant is delicious. The food was fresh and tasty. The ingredients were thoughtfully assembled. One of the best restaurants I have dined at in Maui, hands-down. The staff was on top of their game, friendly and attentive. A must go for a stellar culinary experience!
Hotel Wailea is amazing, but it's restaurant isn't quite on the same level. The entrees are $10 too much. Pasta is $35 should be $25. Fish is $44 should be $34. I'm sure the service is usually great, our particular server was not. Food is good not amazing. Ambiance is wonderful.
Took parents here for 40th Anniversary. Everyone wished them well (meaning everyone knew and said said happy anniversary). Service was impeccable, and food was delicious. The sunset from the upper lanai is gorgeous. This is a secluded location and truly lovely.
To me, this is a special occasion restaurant as it is on the higher end, but it is totally worth it! Magnificent view! Terrific service! Outstanding food! I had the lobster and it was worth the splurge! The oysters were also phenomenal. They have a fun drink menu and fine selection of wines.
Booked this restaurant based on high scores on TripAdvisor. Was not disappointed. Arrived a little later after sunset, and was taken to a table overlooking the pools and garden. Beautiful atmosphere and interiors. Service was prompt and was provided a glass of champagne each as we mentioned we were on honeymoon. To start the dinner, we had 2 of each of the snacks. Shared a ginger rubbed tako. For entrée, we ordered the macadamia nut lamb chops and she ordered the local fish of the day. Finished off the meal with a chocolate fondue with vanilla ice cream. Presentation on all dishes were marvelous and tasted as good as they looked. Highly recommended if you're staying in Maui!
What a fantastic restaurant. Every course was incredible and instead of having small plates of amazing food, well put together food, each dish was a really good size & definitely left you feeling full. Great selection of food to cater fro everyone, complimented by brilliant cocktails. I can really recommend the Truffle Risotto & Kampachi Crudo starters and short rib bolognese and beef tenderloin mains. As well as the molten lava dessert. It was so good we went back twice, and would definitely go back again.
The restaurant was great and we had an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in. The food was amazing and our server was great! He was so knowledgeable, friendly and offered great recommendations, we were very impressed and he really made our night unforgettable. We were there to celebrate 33rd birthday and it was phenomenal.
