   Food was sub standard. Ordered the ginger and chill crab and cod cakes with a sweet corn relish type of thing. Couldn’t taste any chilli or ginger. Cod wasn’t fresh and over cooked. Sweet corn relish was so sweet it couldn’t been a dessert. Staff weren’t naturally warm and friendly. Polite but wooden. Sat inside (first day of covid regulations being relaxed) and it was freezing. Other diners had thick winter coats on whilst eating. Whole place lacked atmosphere. £80 for 2 people, 2 course with half bottle of wine. Not worth it at all. Had a latte pre food. Tasted like a sachet!! Awful. Would not recommend and will not be back. Didn’t bring it up whilst there as was celebrating a friends birthday and didn’t want to sour her day. Very poor Cowley Manor. Do better!!

   My family and I have had many meals at Cowley manor. It was lovely to be back. There was a slight delay with my son's food however the staff provided an outstanding response and service which more then made up for it. They were clearly busy with large turnover of diners but they were very professional, extremely polished, and completely focused on the needs of their customers. Well done to them all.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our al fresco lunch but felt the heater was insufficient to maintain a reasonable temperature on an overcast day. The food and service were excellent and, of course, the setting is spectacular

   Lovely setting, food and service was very good. Would highly recommend and looking to go back again when the weather is a bit warmer.

   They have made a wonderful job of providing shelter on their beautiful terrace, with a perfect view. They provided blankets and heaters, and we were blessed with sunshine. It was an absolute treat.

   The terrace was really well set up for outside eating during Covid restrictions. I felt our table was far enough away from other diners and staff were really conscientious when they came into your space to deliver food and cleaned thoroughly between diners. The covered awning, patio heaters and blankets all made it weatherproof too. The extra touch of a decorated cake plate for my friend’s birthday was very thoughtful

   Had a lovely lunch at Cowley on a day with very mixed weather. They have clearly spent time and money on erecting a sturdy, but attractive, canopy over the outdoor terrace. There was some torrential rain while we were eating but we were completely protected so remained dry and, with the addition of heaters and blankets, warm too. Although it was busy, the tables were well spaced so we didn't feel too close to the other diners. The view at Cowley is absolutely beautiful - even in the rain - so it was great to be outdoors enjoying it, even with mixed weather. The food was very tasty - I had poached salmon and my friend had fish cake. The portions are never huge but it was enough, with side orders, to feel satisfied. Service was friendly - the only grumble was that it was quite slow (over 40 minutes before our food arrived!). But all in all, a very pleasant return to socialising (safely!)

   We ate on the Terrace on a very windy, rainy day - one of our party was a little wet and it was very cold but the experience was still fabulous after so much lockdown.

   Overall a beautiful place for afternoon tea. The scenery and location is amazing, and it is a quiet and calm place for tea. The quality of food was good but nothing extraordinary - fitting for the price. The service was fine but a bit slow - it took quite some time to get our afternoon tea platters, and when we asked for a tea refill midway through it took so long to get this that we had finished the food by the time it arrived. We also had asked for a refill on sandwiches to be told it is 4 pounds per extra plate - a bit surprised by this as I have never experienced a charge for refill at any of the afternoon teas I've been to in the past.

    Always memorable for the right reasons. Good to see English wines and spirits available. Will definitely pencil in another visit soon.
