The Restaurant at CIA Copia
Amazing food and excellent service. My husband couldn’t stop raving about his steak!
Made reservations for brunch thinking it would be packed, it wasn’t; we sat down fast, place was half empty. We got water quickly then waited, and waited- 10 minutes went by we had to call the manager as he walked by. No one noticed we hadn’t had orders taken. We had server come back apologize and still took time to get actual drinks. We had to order food quickly bc we weren’t sure when we would get that! It seemed they were short staffed but they were disorganized and led to a bad experience nonetheless. Food was good at least. Parking is still a nightmare.
While the good was good, it was not inspiring. The best part of the meal was the $13 tasting. Our waiter, while very nice, was inefficient and distracted. Felt that a "teaching" restaurant should be aspiring to perfection.
Small Portions, Way over priced, very limited menu.
Beautiful ambiance, delicious food and excellent service. Next time I will come earlier to shop and browse.
CIA Copia was outstanding. We spent our anniversary dinner there and the food, service, and setting was wonderful. Both our meals were top notch and cooked perfectly. We were served our food fast and our servers were great. To top off our dinner there even served us a complementary glasses of champagne for our anniversary! We will definitely be returning!
Thank you for a wonderful night!
The food was good but the service was lacking. When we made the reservation, we listed we were celebrating a birthday. We we checked in, the group in front of us were also celebrating a birthday. They hostess wished them a happy birthday when she seated them. When we were seated, the hostess did not wish our guest of honor with a happy birthday. I had to remind them we were celebrating a birthday and then she wished our honoree a happy birthday. Most restaurants give the small desert for the birthday person, CIA Copia charged us for the one given to the guest of honor. In addition, we were there for brunch and they did not fill up our water glasses or ask about refills of coffee. The food was good enough to overcome the shortcomings in the staff, although barely. We enjoyed the other CIA at Greystone so I would be willing to give this place another try.
The service was lackluster and one of our dishes was very salty
CISA Copia has excelled beyond all our hopes. It was great on our last visit but this time we were absolutely overwhelmed with the experience, We will return often for more of this restaurant.
The Chicken and Veal chop were extraordinary but starting with the brussels sprouts and Filet Mignon tartar started our meal on a high note.
Order the chef’s duck if they have it, a special dish that isn’t on the menu. Great place to enjoy dinner in Napa and bring your own wine or order from their list which is reasonable both in price and selection.
The wine we ordered Caymus which was $23 per glass was served hot, of all places you would think anywhere in Napa would know what temperature wine should be stored. The meals were ok we ordered a steak which was decent and the lamb which was also decent but very rich the side dishes of beans tasted like cardboard, with no flavor and the mashed potatoes tasted grocery store bought. The flan for dessert also tasted as if it came from the frozen food isle in he grocery store. I guess with all the great restaurants and food in Napa our expectations were much higher.
Great meal at CIA Copia for Valentine’s Day. We have been here 6 or 7 times and it just keeps getting better. Highly recommend.
Delicious food and excellent service. Restaurant is vey chic.
Service and ambiance were perfect. Expectations were not met with the food with the exception of the citrus salad and polenta which were excellent. Fried Brussels were good but average. Eggplant parm was burnt and although presented well it wasn’t good. The children’s chicken fingers were over cooked, dry and borderline not edible. A far cry from my last meal at CIA Greystone which was incredible.
Birthday. The service was very slow and not attentive. Otherwise it was pleasant.
A bright aerie dining room with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was served promptly but we were not rushed. Since Crab is in season we had a fresh crab salad (not canned crab) I even had a small piece of shell in mine just like home.
- Food selections were OK.
- I had french fried (with truffle oil and cheese) that I think wasn't very good.
- Although I had rib eye - steak that was good (cooking temperature was right).
- Ambience was OK.
- Price was on the high side what I think we get.
- Service was not attentive at all.
There were five of us for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal. And we tried a couple of desserts, which we also enjoyed. And their margarita was very nice.
The food was good, but not great, and the waiter was such a snob that it ruined the whole meal. He looked down his nose at us for asking for the dinner menu instead of doing the tasting menu. At $13 per person, the tasting menu has to have been meant as a prelude to a main course (these were around $30 per person). I wanted to do the tasting menu, but he didn’t wait long enough for me to order it. He never took a drink order, and looked at me like I had 3 heads when I tried to order a cocktail off their drinks menu. The cocktail eventually came after my food was half eaten instead of before dinner. He was visibly huffy when I ordered, as if I didn’t order enough or the right things. I thought he was going to have a fit when I ordered nothing but French fries for my kid. By the way, kids definitely seem unwelcome and French fries are the only kid friendly item on the menu. Definitely not the place for a family celebration.
Served with wrong side dish, no apologies. Then the bill was wrong with overcharged wine and wrong side dish. Very disappointed
New to the Copia menu is an eggplant parmigiano. It was excellent!
And if you enjoy steak tartare they have a "filet tartare" that is the best i've had.
Everything we hoped for. Will go again. Highly recommend.
Food was prepared with a magnificent touch. Our server, Claire, was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. All 3 courses were out of this world!
SUPER FANTASTIC PHENOMENAL! Awesome meal (hubby had a FINE filet & I ordered a PERFECT pesto pasta)!! Service by Claire was EXCEPTIONAL!!! Such a wonderful & memorable evening! Thank you CIA Copia! PS Make sure to save time to visit their museum either before or after your meal! It’s unlike anywhere that I been!
A wonderful experience overall. The presentation and taste of the food was outstanding, the service perfect and the prices reasonable.
This is the 5th time I've eaten at CIA COPIA...unfortunately the last 3 times have been poor menu selections for a Napa Valley Restaurant.....The turnover from Exec. Chef, Mgr., wait Staff etc., is constant. I'm sooooooooooo sorry to see this happening. There are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY to many EXCELLENT restaurants in Napa & the Napa Valley to return to Restaurant COPIA ~ Napa...
We came here for restaurant week but decided to eat off menu. Our decision was great but a bit pricey (although it could be cheaper without cocktails) we got the chef appetizer sampler and the beef tartar to start, both excellent. For the meal we had veal and the ox tail with polenta (absolutely fantastic) both great options. I am going here again, just mindful of the cost.
Great experience. This was a dinner for my husband’s birthday and our daughter was coming to surprise him. The staff accommodated us in every way and made the evening super special. The food was delicious, the ambiance great, and I can recommend it without reservation!!
We had a fabulous dinner here on Thursday night. Surprisingly the restaurant was not very full. The food was terrific. All 4 of us ordered something different, and everyone was very happy. I had the oxtail ragu over creamy polenta. Out of this world! Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are a foodie.
Attentive but not intrusive service. great food. restaurant was low noise so conversation was easy.
Service was great. The price of the meal (half roasted chicken) was a little excessive. The food tasted very good but we will not be back because of the prices.
The Receptionist girl was not welcoming or friendly, asked the server for a sample of the rose, but instead brought me a full glass...food was good, however the customer service was terrible; not genuine service at all. Good food with terrible customer service is not one i will be returning to anytime! I rather be somewhere where i am wanted with mediocre food than at a place with good food and terrible customer service which is not genuine.
This is a great location to grab a meal with a large group with kids. I would steer clear of the main courses and stick with sides and appetizers - much more satisfying experience. Kids meals are great and the service is patient and kind.
Unfortunate. My last visit was 5-stars....our second time, party of six, is likely the last. Poor service sometimes bizarre behavior and two of our party, who had what we thought was undercooked pork, ended up sick all night. Just a big disappointment.
Food is good but it just a small portion and service was terrible
Beautiful setting with a wine museum and very nice interior. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. We were there for a business dinner and everyone really enjoyed it. I am planning to come back with my husband.
That was a fun birthday dinner celebration on 1/13/19 with my children. There was a light show right there that was part of the Napa Valley Light Festival and it was amazing. The food was yummylicious. We will go back again.
One of the best meals I had in my life! Try the braised oxtail and the filets!
Six of us had a wonderful dinner at Copia. The mussels, albeit a bit spicy, were delicious. And if you like steak tartare, it was very good.
New to the menu was a half Peking Duck, as good as we've had in any of San Francisco's Chinatown restaurants.
Avocado/salmon appetizer was outstanding. Blue cheese burger excellent. Wholesome ingredients. Unique dishes. Well-prepared and presented. Attentive and obliging staff.
