The Restaurant at CIA Copia
Veronica was an excellent host and it was an amazing pleasant experience today
Perfect for a quiet Monday after a holiday.... first time back in a while and first time for lunch... service team kind and charming.... salads and sandwich and Bloody Mary right on point. We will go back
A little disappointed that they were having a prix-fix luncheon as there were items on the regular menu I really wanted to try but we still had a great meal. The deserts were wonderful.
Enjoyable environment. Very professional. The plate presentations are excellent. Food is good, maybe not groundbreaking but delicious.
We were entertaining relatives from out of town. Restaurant is very nicely decorated. Menu interesting with lots of choices. Food was great. After lunch we went to a cooking class which was awesome. Great place to take visitors to the valley but great for locals too. The outside dining looked great. We will be going back!
We always enjoy our visits to CIA Copia. Food is delicious and service couldn't be better! Grounds are lovely and Their store has beautiful items.
Another excellent brunch at The CIA Copia. Copia by far is our favorite place in Napa for brunch and dinner. The presentation, cuisine and service is always excellent. CIA continues to exceed our expectations.
Great food and atmosphere. It’s nice to dine at a restaurant where the staff are genuinely engaged in their work, and pleasant too! Food is top notch and prices are reasonable.
Great ambience and great food, even though with a limited menu .
We do a girl's night out and go to a different restaurant every month. There was a small group of 4 of this time and one of the gals said she thought our dinner was the best meal she had experienced since we've been having these get togethers. We live in Napa Valley, so the competition is high. There's a ton of fabulous restaurants in our area, so being she praised this one is saying a lot. I thought my meal was excellent. Everything is amazingly delicious. I had a fabulous dessert and entrée. Loved it all!
This was our second meal at the Restaurant at CIA Copia and the second was definitely as good as the first one. We went for lunch this time. The service was great! I had their version of my favorite, Eggplant Parmesan. It was unique and delicious! My companions were equally pleased with their entrees of Fried Chicken sandwiches and fries. We will definitely be back!
Server was very friendly. Salmon was quite greasy, slightly undercooked, and very salty, but steak was delicious as was pecan dessert. There was only two other couples in the restaurant. Overall great experience! Really enjoyed museum upstairs afterwards-would highly recommend.
I was always under the impression that this restaurant was run by students at CIA, but after having dinner there this week that is not the case. It is an independent restaurant with chefs that may have graduated from CIA or from somewhere else. That said, both my husband and I were thrilled with the food and service. My husband had the smoked trout and kale salad which he loved and we both enjoyed the sole meunière a la Julia Child deliciously prepared with ample fish, vegetable and small potatoes. We would highly recommend The Restaurant.
We arrived with high expectations and were impressed with the building - the exterior was nice with the gardens and fork sculpture, and the interior was airy and modern with an open kitchen. We were promptly seated, and there were about three or four other tables filled besides ours, so it was nice and quiet and not busy at all.
We both ordered the Garden Green Salad and the Tomba Tuna. The salad was good with a plentiful amount of pecans, but the honeycrisp apples were missing. We mentioned it to our server and she apologized and brought us a little bowl with sliced apples. It would have been nice to have seen the presentation with the apples.
It took quite a long while for our main dish to be served. It consisted of half of a plate of frisee lettuce, which made up a large part of our salad. It would've been helpful if the server could have mentioned when we were ordering that the Garden Green Salad and tuna dish would both have a large amount of frisee. The poached egg was good in that it gave the lettuce a different flavor, but the string beans were tough and undercooked, and the tuna was cold with the consistency of canned chunk tuna. It had no flavor and was a little dry. We did not notice whether the menu described the tuna as being chilled, but we were expecting something like a rare seared tuna. However, the quality and freshness of the food was very good.
We were there for a total of two hours because of the slow service. One server said that he'd be right back with more water for us, which never appeared. We did not have time to have dessert, since we had another appointment to get to. As a whole, we were disappointed with our experience there.
Went on a Sunday evening (6pm) seating and it was only one quarter full. Staff was very attentive and there was very quick service. Food was all excellent. Great experience.
Great food but poor service. Service was sloppy and not up to par for price or quality of food. Too many great restaurants in the area to come here.
Got the smoked salmon eggs benedict, and the potatoes were the best potatoes I’ve ever had. The smoked salmon was a bit salty and the egg could have been a biiit runnier, but overall food and experience was great
Service was outstanding. Wait time very short. The salad was very exceptionally. Great dressing. Salmon was to die for. Cooked to perfection. Amazing flavor. If that wasn't enough the chocolate bomb desert was out of this world. Great dinner. Great value.
The Restaurant at CIA at Copia is only getting better. Had a wonderful lunch and the service was much better than a year ago. Lunch was busy for a mid-week Wednesday. Looking forward to another visit!
Amazing food, great looking plates and great tasting too. Service was really good, just a great way to enjoy our 42nd Anniversary.
We ordered rare cheeseburgers. I actually prefer medium rare, but often get medium from the kitchen. Copia’s chef understands! We did get rare. The burgers were absolutely delicious. So were the fries. However, the buns were not up to the job as they simply fell apart. The server explained it was caused by the juices from the rare burger. Sigh.
Our server was very friendly and personable. He took the extra time to engage in friendly conversation and answered all questions we had
Food excellent. Service somewhat attentive but our server had absolutely no knowledege of the Wine List and very little about the food. Embarrassing for Napa Valley.
For the "CIA"the menu was very limited. 2 ordered the Corned Beef Sandwich, and one guest explained she was lactose intolerant so no coleslaw. The description on the menu did not mention cheese being in the sandwich. Even though she had stressed her problem and the waiter even suggested fries instead of coleslaw her sandwich arrived with cheese! He returned it when she pointed this out and said he'd be "right back with a new one" The other two guests had the spicy mussels which were very good. All three of us were almost finished with our meal before the "cheese-less" sandwich arrived.....this was a SANDWICH not something that needed a lot of prep so why the one long delay? The dessert was delicious and elegant, but surely we shouldn't have had to ask for the table to be wiped down because some sauce had dripped onto it before they brought the dessert? The food choices are very basic [boring!] and the waitstaff unprofessional, including the hostess who made no attempt to seat us until we were sent back out to her station by the busboy. The food is good, the room is attractive and pleasant but after dining in the Up-Valley CIA it is very disappointing. Id like to see professional staff and a more interesting menu before I plan to return or recommend it.
The food was good, but the service was extremely slow. This applies to both the wait staff and the kitchen. It took 15 minutes for a server to greet us. We had to ask repeatedly for water. Our main courses took forever to get to the table. The running of the place seemed disorganized.
We sat at the Chef’s table. Best seats in the restaurant. DJ Our Chef, was a culinary tour guide and made outstanding suggestions on what to order. Everything we ordered was presented beautifully and cooked to Perfection. This was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. You will be wowed by the food and entire experience.
nice locale, good attentive service - but food came our lukewarm and the pecan tart was soggy (sitting around for too long).
The restaurant has gone through several permutations, but has not hit the right formula. Will wait a few months and try again.
It took a little before we were greeted by server. Once she did the service was great! Claire was very courteous and friendly. However there was a miscommunication on the corkage fees but the manager Scott resolved the situation to our satisfaction!
Went for my birthday and had a spectacular experience. Amazing food, kind and helpful staff -- it was all you could want from a night out.
The food was excellent. The smoked trout salad was over the moon. The salmon was cooked to perfection.
My party of four all had the crab salads and we shared a cream brûlée. All the food was delicious.
The service was very odd. There was my party and one other party of four in the restaurant at the time I was dining with my family. The waiter had no personality and was slow at taking our order. She hardly came to help or see how things were at our table. I don’t know her name but she had dark curly hair.
If you fix the service the restaurant would be top notch. It was nice that we had time to visit but I was on a tight schedule. Being a restaurant with a CIA background I would think the service would be at its best. The hostess was nice and greeted us upon entry.
I want to come back but I hope service will improve.
Very tasty food, great service, nice area too
Potato leek soup was tasty & Roast chicken was juicy & delicious. Appreciate good wine selections at reasonable prices.
We always enjoy the food at CIA Copia...one of our favorites!
Our server was friendly and attentive and when they were out of the dessert we wanted the manager named Mark brought out two desserts for us to try and spent time at our table to be sure we were satisfied!!
I highly enjoyed the meal and service!
Fantastic food. Great choices. There own wine Greystones is great. Can't wait to go back
The food was good. However, the portions were incredibly small compared to the price.
Food and service was incredible. Much better than I expected. King salmon and accompanying delicacies were superb. And the chocolate desert was amazing, deeply rich bittersweet with just the right amount of sweet.
I surprised my husband for his birthday and took him to ‘Wine County’ for a day. I reserved dinner here and it was perfect. We both enjoyed our meals tremendously, starting with the trout appetizer which was fresh and flavorful, he ordered the ribeye which was delicious (I had a bite, so tender!) & HUGE! (You can seriously share it with a few..!) I enjoyed the hanger steak which was cooked perfectly, we added the (appetizer) of crispy Brussels Sprouts which were awesome, seriously a meal in itself, and of course we had to add the fries with garlic aioli...seasoned & crispy - yum! (We had leftovers of everything to take home of course!)
The excellent ambiance and service were over shadowed by the saltiness of the seasoning.
