The Relais is named in honour of our motorsports heritage and the menus celebrate our seaside location.

Just steps from the beach, The Rally Restaurant enjoys the best views in the house and a spacious terrace for seasonal al fresco dining.

It was okish. I expected a bit more. The food was nice and the staff friendly. The service was ok but: 1. We weren't offered another drink once our 1st drinks were finished; 2. it took a long time for our lunch to arrive -35/40 mins; 3. Our table water bottle was not replaced once emptied; and 4. We weren't revisited after finishing our lunch main to offer dessert or coffee. I understand this hotel has just been bought so improvements may be in the pipeline. Good try but could do better!

Could have been better. Food was good. Waitresses were friendly. We had to wait a while between courses and were left after coffee came and we wanted to pay and leave. None of the waiting staff came to see whether we wanted to pay our bill. The final nail in the coffee was getting a phone call to say we hadn't paid our bill !! Thankfully I had kept the receipt. Not the best end to an evening celebrating our wedding anniversary.

The food itself was fine, however the service was muddled and very slow. My partner ordered a Caesar Salad and received a Greek Salad, this was exchanged. I ordered a Brie and Tomato quiche and received a Quiche Lorraine, it had taken so long to deliver that I didn't bother to get the dish changed, but it could have been awkward had I been a vegetarian. My partner ordered a Apple and Pear Pudding with Ice Cream and received it with Custard. The two drinks we ordered at the outset took over 20minutes to deliver and only after a reminder from us. The waitress replied that they were really busy - no they really weren't! The whole service was chaotic and very poor, such a shame as the hotel and rooms were very comfortable and furnished to a high standard, but the restaurant let them down badly.

no way to specify Afternoon Tea online. They were not set up for it when we arrived so had to wait for a table to be set. Initially the service was excellent and very attentive but a short time later it appeared that some staff had finished their shift and it was very difficult to get service. Eventually one of our party had to get up and find someone After some time we manged to ask for more tea but then waited nearly fifteen minutes for it and it was stewed. We had the same problem with paying, I asked for the bill and again we waited over ten minutes for it and then had trouble getting someone to bring the card machine. When asked if everything had been okay I explained the issues and the manager insisted on removing the service charge from our bill. Disappointed as it was a birthday treat for a friend and we had been previously when it was perfect. A shame as it meant we spent over two hours having our tea.

Had a lovely meal with my wife for our 20th anniversary. Staff were excellent. Will definitely go back again.

Cooden Beach hotel is our go to place for a special occasion. The setting by the sea is perfect, especially if by the window. The service is very good, and the food is sensational.

We went for an anniversary lunch and it couldn't have been more perfect! The food was fabulous, the staff were lovely and the view was gorgeous from our table I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back soon Thank you for a lovely time ❤️
