   The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Really fresh prawns and salmon and fabulous beef cheek with delicate mash and rich gravy. Great flavours. Excellent friendly helpful service. Just a personal view but it was a shame about the awful music played by the DJ in the main bar. It was Friday night I suppose but the bar was almost empty. We managed to zone it out as the food was so great.

   Our server was absolutely incredible and she was so engaging and made my birthday really special for me! The food didn’t do it for me, we opted for getting a number of the small plates as opposed to main meals as none of them particularly tickled our fancy. The beef mashed potato was unreal and if I could have had it to go I would have (but I was off to a bar after). The prawns were absolutely delicious as was the broccoli! I wasn’t a massive fan of the hummus which was a shame and whilst I didn’t particularly enjoy the curry sauce the chicken was in, the rest of my party absolutely adored it!

   x7 person group enjoyed a Sunday roast post marathon. Quality of the meats was superb. Best roast dinner I have eaten outside of my own home

   We are a group of five school friends from many years ago! Exceptional service and food served by the lovely Lucy - a credit to the Refuge. Lunch was amazing, the venue very welcoming. We could actually talk and hear each other. We had a two hour window but did not feel rushed in any way. Highly recommended. We will be back, next time with our other two friends.

   We flew in for a weekend in Manchester from Spain. I booked our reservation online a week before so we could have a Sunday lunch before we left. Myself and my partner chose the platter and wow it was great! Plenty of food for two people and very tasty. We were going to order starters but glad we didn’t as we wouldn’t of had room to enjoy our mains 😁 we shall visit again next time.

    Food quality and selection has gone down markedly from previous visits as well as the beers available. Service wasn't great either.
