Location/ scenery is very appealing. Our server was very nice & pleasant (as well as the manager), but the food is way too overpriced for the quality. Not horrible, just decent! Would only recommend this place for drinks (during happy hour) maybe your bill will be under $100 if your lucky.

Had dinner here while staying at the Residence Inn. Beautiful view of downtown Long Beach. Had the Hawaiian Ribeye and the Scallop/shrimp pineapple boat. Probably the most delicious scallops I had ever had. Highly recommend!

Had Filet Oscar. Waiter asked how done, but did not ask regarding potatoe. Filet was ok, but the topping was tasteless. After I realized the error of not asking about the potatoe, I found him to tell him my wife and I wanted baked potatoe. When the meal arrived, the baked potatoe reminded me of the potatoes we cooked as Boy Scouts in the campfire. I had use a knife to cut the skin. The white was dry and tasteless. The broccoli was wimpy. It had a beautiful view of Long Beach harbor. There was no sign at the entrance in parking lot, so we had to ask some people in the parking lot where the resturant is located. Funny, there is a sign on the opposite side of the resturant, but no place to stop.

I used to come here in the 90s and it used to be this upscale brunch spot, theme rooms with high end food options. Decided to visit after all these years and it seems it has changed hands a few times and not kept up at all. The food is good and the service is great but the place could use a renovation.

Food is OK, but definitely not worthy of the price. Plates are pretty old with scratches on them.

I asked for a specific thing to be written on the dessert for my number one lady and they presented it to her perfectly. They sat us in a corner table with a very quiet beautiful view of the Pike in Long Beach. Very good service, I might look into their ballrooms if they're a fair price. Would definitely go again.

This was a last minute booking for an Easter Brunch. The staff was great. The food was not so good. It definitely tasted like it came straight out of a box. The buffet was all over the place. Very poor set up.

Came for Easter and left within 40min. The food was plenty but nothing to write home about. The staff was great accommodating about our concerns and actually knocked the price of one of the meals off the bill. I do recommend this place if you want to nice view of Long Beach

The stations were not kept clean while the service from the wait staff was excellent the food was not presented well and lacked seasoning I was extremely disappointed especially after paying so much. We usually stay until the end of Brunch but the food was horrible on 3/18/2018

I enjoy each visit that I've had to The Reef. On March 11th, my sister and I wanted to have a late birthday brunch and just time to catch up. The room that we were placed in was small, cute and quaint but we shared a room with a group of young ladies who were quite loud. There were times that my sister and I weren't able to hear one another due to their volume.

The other issue for me personally was that the waiter seemed to be preoccupied with other things on his mind, which resulted in plates piling up on the table and not very many check-ins. Once he made it to the table, he was pleasant.

Other than these two issues, the visit was nice and I will definitely return.

Highly disappointed. Had a reservation and still had to wait roughly 20 minutes. Worst of all my wife and I we sat in a room full of hoodlums. It was a really uncomfortable experience, these people were claiming gangs and talking very loud about their time in correctional facilities. We hardly had any service from the waitress and I’m assuming it’s because they even made it uncomfortable for her. My complain is about making me wait and not being considerate of where to place a couple who doesn’t wanna be placed where they would be uncomfortable.

Sunday brunch, was not good, crazy busy -packed- loud, standing room only at most buffet lines. Buffet stations scattered throughout the restaurant (some outdoors). We were seated in a large great room that was just rows and rows of tables, the noise level was very high. The food was mediocre, food stations were sloppy with food spilled over table clothes and serving platters, no real servers....just attendants refilling glasses. As were were waiting for the valet to bring us our car (self-parking was not available) a drunken women passed out and fell into some shrubbery. Next time we will spend the $50 per person brunch fee somewhere else.

It's been awhile since I've dined at the Reef. It was always a "go to" for Sunday Brunch. I was happy to see that not only was the food still good. It was even better than I remembered before. Usually, price versus food quality is a concern for me. I don't enjoy being charged an "arm and a leg" for brunch, only to find that the food was not worth it. Even though the price for brunch had increased slightly than I remember before at the Reef. It was definitely worth every penny. I already reserved a space for my mother's day brunch!!

Great service. The food is unbelievable. Although i did wish that the cooks who cook the food in front of you had a better attitude. They made me feel as if i was a bother asking them to make the sliders or crab... ect. But overall great place this is my 3rd time here. Definitely recommend.

From the sampler appetizers to the bread with the pesto-butter...everything was tasty! Kudos to the Staff, was attentive and anticipated what we wanted, so we didn't have to ask. Can't wait to go back!

We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and didn't get seated for about 10 minutes after. We decided to get the 3 course prix fix. The kick starters that I chose was a salad and my wife had the clam chowder. Both items were good but the entrees were not up to my standards. I had the boneless short ribs and my wife had the salmon. I'm not sure if it's because we had the 3 course meals or if that's how the food is normally prepared. It wasn't handled with care to say the least. This is our first time here and we were celebrating a belated valentine's date. The salmon dish had mushy rice and the boneless short rib had some lard on it but was tender. The service was good, no complaints there. For that reason, I don't mind returning to try other dishes

It was Valentine’s Day dinner and I reserved a table ahead of time. We were taken through the beautiful restaurant to a back room that had the feel of a party or reception feel with some set up presumably, portable tables with white covering table cloths. The service was fine when we actually got a server to come over. We were waiting for about 15 minutes until someone actually greeted us. Appetizers were served and I had to ask for plates to eat them with. Our server was very nice and she did a good job. Just wish I was told ahead of time that I would be sat in a room that wasn’t actually the nice restaurant advertised online. Food was great.

I took my wife to The Reef for our valentines day dinner. From what I understood the Reef was overbooked and they placed us in an open banquet room with tables placed around the room. Basically, a white room with white tablecloths, keep in mind this was a valentines day special. The lightning was bright and the service was unpleasant. Our drinks came 30 mins after we ordered and the beer was pretty warm. The view of Longbeach was the only part of the night we enjoyed, it was my first and last visit for me.

EVERYTHING was great until this female guest came with this god awful perfume I think she bathed in it. My guest is highly allergic to perfume. I am allege as well, but not to the degree my guest is. She ruined our evening. We were celebrating my friends birthday and early valentines day, and my monthly outing, My guest had to leave, as he was getting sick and I was left to finish my dinner alone There is no fault of the restaurant in regards to this situation. This lady was at fault. When I left, I did go over to her and told her that she had ruined our evening with her god awful perfume I feel for the server that had to continue to serve the table of 8. She could not get away from it.
