The pub was comfortably full but there was only one poor lady trying to do everything. She was doing her best but service was naturally quite slow.

We have been to the red lion multiple times now as I can not eat gluten. We have never been disappointed, although we have never been on a Sunday to have the roast. Well this time we did and they did not fail us. The service as usual is brilliant, very accommodating. The food was amazing. They do the best, light and fluffy gluten free Yorkshire puds ever. The beef and veg were lovely, roast potatoes could have been more cooked but that's personal preference. Even if you are not gluten /dairy free, this is the place to eat.

Charming pub and landlady. Chef was very knowledgeable and accommodating regarding my multiple food intolerances! We ate a delicious, fresh cooked meal that left us full up & satisfied. Highly recommend you eat here, especially if you are a Coeliac. Simple, fresh, tasty food with great service!

We’ve been here twice recently & a few odd times over the last 10 years or so, The Red Lion is a lovely little pub, great old worldly feel inside, nice garden & quite large car park outside. Always a friendly welcome & great service. The food is very good & well priced too. Menu is not too big which is a definite plus point, but definitely enough to choose from. Mostly Gluten free & dairy free, but if you don’t need either of these, don’t be put off because you really won’t tell the difference. Worth booking to make sure you get a table, or risk it & have a drink at the bar while you’re waiting. Recommend.

We booked for lunch on Mothering Sunday. We were seated immediately and were given plenty time to decide on drinks and food. When the food came it was fantastic! Well presented and well cooked, it was delicious. The portion sizes meant none of us were left hungry, and with just enough to enjoy dessert. The price was fair for what was an excellent meal. The staff were helpful and good humoured. All in all I would throughly recommend eating here to everyone I know. Thank you for the great service.

Very friendly welcome and excellent food, ale and cider. Nachos, beetroot and fete salad & chicken starters were delicious. Three of us had pies, both the beef, ale and mushroom & the chicken, ham and leek were thoroughly enjoyed especially with the accompanying huge jug of gravy. The other main was the generous portion of salmon, also delicious. Apple crumbles with custard and a cheesecake finished the meal off to a tee!
