I had taken my girls away for the weekend and booked a meal here for our treat. The staff were very friendly but the place was a bit cold. My daughter and I ordered steaks which were a bit over cooked and tiny!! Also they didn’t offer any steak sauce! Or even a bit of garlic butter, In hindsight I should of sent it back and asked for something else. They did check if the food was ok but I had a mouthful and they didn’t wait for an answer.

Another amazing meal at The Red Lion. Attentive staff, excellent food and drink. The barman greeted us with a friendly smile and was knowledgable about the drinks. We were shown to our table in a corner, which I requested and it’s nice to know they listened. We took our time looking at the menu and the waitress came back a few times as we were caught in conversation which she said was not a problem as we had arrived early. It never felt intrusive like in some restaurants. The food arrived in good time and was to the usual high standards from previous visits. When friend ask me to recommend somewhere to eat, this is one of a few hidden gems I recommend and it always pleases! Keep up the good work!

We always love the Red Lion and Sunday lunch was no exception but the noise in the dining room made any meaningful conversation across the table impossible. What do you expect from a lovely child friendly restaurant.....on a Sunday a few weeks before Crimble !!!!

A lovely Inn in Somerset countryside, with great atmosphere and log fires. We stayed two nights in their converted barn next to the Inn. Rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Ideal location for visiting Wells, Glastonbury or the Clarks shopping village in Street. Only issue of comment was poor internet connection, very variable to say the least. Didn't bother us, but might be an issue if on business. Can thoroughly recommend the Red Lion Inn for an away from it all break.

Good food and service...very attentive waiting staff. Super baked plaice and amazing desserts! The rice pudding and creme brûlée were delicious 😁
