Everything was perfect—our table, the service, the food, and the vibe. All three generations of the family loved it.
Enjoyed our night at the Red House. My burger came out a little overdone but my drinks (margarita flight) were delicious.
Portions were tiny.
When we arrived we were told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. She did offer to let us sit outside in the rain and have a drink while we waited. We left. At 8:30 on a Friday night during Covid we were not left with many options. At the very least someone could have contacted us so that we could make other plans. We celebrated our anniversary on Saturday night instead.
It was ridiculously windy, but everything went well! Our server was really nice, food and cocktails were great, it is a fun place to splurge on some goodies. We got the small seafood tower, lobster, and linguini. Will do again!
happy place with great ambience and service! thank you
had a great meal for four people! the waitstaff observed covid guidelines and i felt like our party was adequately seated away from others. the food was wonderful and came out promptly. would definitely recommend for a good saturday night dinner!
It's a charming little restaurant - we loved it all!
We were seated by the door at a high top and it was very drafty. The servers were in and out throughout dinner, and a blast of cold air would hit us every time. Please move the high top for two to a different location.
It was a Wednesday night during the pandemic, but still there is no excuse for barely defrosted shrimp cocktail. Lobster role was ok and utterly unremarkable. Fish and chips would have been fine if chips had been warm. It all added up to so-so.
Delicious! Quick service
Awesome seafood. Really recommend grilled octopus appetizer. Well served and delicious!
We had a lovely meal on Easter Sunday. Great service, wonderful location, and delicious food. Recommend the seafood pizza!
We splurged and got the S1 seafood tower and 11/10 did not regret AT ALL.
The food was amazing, we sat infront of the fire. Our server was knowledgeable, and helped us with the menu. It was a great meal
We loved the food - from the lobster and scallops to the salmon. Would definitely come back!
Excellent meal enjoyed at the Hi-Top inside just to the right as you enter, which I think is the best seat on the house. Food was excellent as usual. Ceviche appetizer is a solid choice, and nice presentation. Oyster selection was limited as a result we passed. The idea of a seafood pizza was a little odd at first, but the dish is an absolute must have. The Saffron stew = perfect on a cool spring evening. Portions are on the generous side. Beer list short, but great choices. Covid was well enforced. Highly recommend for a date, family, or small group, large group might present a challenge.
Great place. Be advised that the patio is basically another room now, though. Excellent service, no complaints.
The meal was very good and the fireplace is welcome on cold days. They seem to have reduced the size of the restaurant though in favor of more outdoor space.
This was our first time at Red House. The food was excellent, the server was pleasant and the restaurant was quaint.
Great food and atmosphere - love this place! Highly recommended.
Always have a wonderful time at The Red House! Fantastic food and environment.
The restaurant has been updated since we last dined here, and new menu also. Food was fabulous, and we love the ambiance. We ate inside, but updated outdoor patio area with heaters looked great also. This is one of our favorite places in Cambridge, never disappoints.
I had a great time dining at the red house restaurant! Our server continued to check if we needed anything, the front room was cozy and the food was great.
Consistently excellent food and warm, knowledgeable staff. Best restaurant in Harvard Square.
Everything was delicious - inspired cocktail list and amazing seafood dishes. Would definitely eat here again!
We recently went here for my husband's birthday! The food was delicious and the drinks were great!
Incredible food and atmosphere!
Seafood pizza was great!
Great food and service
We absolutely love this place!! We got the lobster carbonara and the duck and they were both delicious. The best part by far was the clam chowder!! So good we had to get some to go. Our server was great as well :) will definitely be coming back
Great food and environment! Our waitress had her hands full with many tables and was still able to do an outstanding job!
It's nice to see that the Red House is still around. We were seated in the enclosed area that was previously outside. Our cocktails were good (F2 with pear puree I think), except that we eventually figured out that one of them had been mixed up with a different choice from the menu (still interesting, but confusing). The ceviche appetizer was a bit bland and would have been better with something crispy instead of bread. The lobster carbonara was very good, and had a nice amount of lobster meat; I really don't understand the other bad reviews for that dish. The Indonesian style swordfish was also tasty. In the desserts, we liked the carrot cake better than the red velvet cake.
AMAZING!! A little pricey - but honestly when most of the menu items are lobster you can't complain!! We will definitely be back - Monica our waitress was wonderful and between our drinks and food we were extremely satisfied!! :)
the "outdoor" space was extremely nice, although didn't really feel like we were outside. The drinks were fun and the food was great! They were out of a few things we wanted but that may have been due to COVID. the seafood pizza was excellent
Very nice food. However, I am concerned that the restaurant was overcrowded during a time when social distancing should be enforced. My partner and I were seated within 6 feet of two other tables — this was concerning for us.
The service and overall ambiance were great (the winter chalet/patio was very cute and cozy!). However, the food was pretty pricey for the quality we received. The lobster roll was very basic, soggy, and the meat didn’t taste fresh (the meat pieces were also extremely tiny). The grilled octopus was also rubbery and disappointing. It’s not on par with what I’d expect from a seafood focused restaurant in the greater Boston area. I found the cocktail program to also be pretty straightforward for being charged $16 a piece. All in all, you can find equal quality of service and ambiance with much better food/drink at other restaurants in the area.
I was pleasantly surprised with dinner. The lobster roll while small was fresh and delicious, the seafood tower was out of site and my old fashion was garnished and made just right. It would’ve however been nice if the portions were a little stronger. A side of fries should equal at least a small fry at your favorite fast food joint. Overall service was on point and I will definitely return on my next visit to CM.
The cocktails were excellent and overall the food was very good. I would say a little overpriced, but overall a very good place to eat.
This was the most miserable dining experience I’ve had in years. From the quality of the food to the taste of the drinks. I do not recommend.
