Amazing food and atmosphere. If you’re able to sit on the rooftop, I highly recommend it. So beautiful!
Great meal...really enjoyed the entire experience (ambiance, art, foot, service...EVERYTHING) including our server, Dakota who was great to talk to.
I treated a friend to lunch and was a little disappointed there was no room to sit outside. That said, the food and service was impeccable.
The food is as delicious
The food was great and there was plenty of it. The patio outside was delightful. Perfect.
Everything was good, but the amount of food was substantially less from what we ordered last time.
However, I might add that the price remained the same as our previous time.
We ordered the biscuit bowl for $10.00 and it contained 4 biscuits. Previously, it was at least 6-8 biscuits including scones and other pastries.
We also ordered the bacon platter for $7.00 and it contained 5 slices of bacon. Previously, it was at least 10 slices.
Next time, we'll skip those items, since we felt like we got gypped.
My husband and I visited the Tavern for brunch outside on Saturday and Sunday. We joined some friend on Saturday and everything was perfect! We liked it so much, we back on Sunday and brought our dog.
Sunday left much to be desired. We both ordered eggs benedict medium; my husband said I don't like the whites of the eggs runny. When we received the benedict, the eggs were hard inside. I mentioned this to the waiter and he stated that the gentleman said he didn't want it runny which is not what my husband said--he said "he didn't like the WHITES runny." In addition, we were not offered a second basket of pastries on Sunday.
While I'm certain the waiter was usually very good--he was very polite and business-like, I was disappointed with my meal because the waiter misunderstood what we wanted. He did offer to replace the eggs, we declined as we ate them as they were and he took my iced tea off the bill.
I've never had eggs benedict with hard egss in my life!
Excellent food in a beautiful setting on the roof top patio. The food here is creative and consistently top notch.
Was able to reserve a table last minute when family came to town unexpectedly. We all had such a wonderful time and our guests continued to rave well after we were home. The drive out through the bucolic countryside was a great prelude to our arrival. Our server, was filled with Red Fox Inn history and that delighted our family. The food was excellent! We had the halibut special, the rack of lamb (which they kindly split for 2 of us since it was a huge portion), and the gnocchi. The appetizer of chilled heirloom tomato soup was like you had pulled the tomatoes straight from the vines! It was so fresh!! All in all it was a delightful evening and we will certainly return!
We had a wonderful Brunch experience last Saturday at the Red Fox Inn! Outstanding service, food and ambience. The weather cooperated and we were able to sit on the beautiful patio. We will be back!
Birthday sinner was fabulous, as usual!
My daughter's birthday dinner was a total success. Our waitress was so very good, knowledgeable and attentive. The tavern is a pleasant place to dine in- the food was enjoyed by all.
The Red Fox Inn is a beautiful restaurant. We like the food but feel it’s overpriced for what you get. We go there on special occasions because it’s gorgeous in Middleburg, but we may try other restaurants when we visit the town again. The service was wonderful.
Everything excellent--especially the service! Thank you--we'll be back.
Wonderful food and service!
Great experience. Wonderful old charm and spot on food. Only issue was the flies inside. It took away from the experience having flies buzzing around while eating.
We had a wonderful meal outside on the patio. It was Restaurant Week and we loved the special menu. Wonderful fried green tomatoes and a large fried chicken platter with Mac and cheese and shaved Brussels sprouts. Our waiter was also the bartender and he was fantastic and pleasant. Can’t wait to go back for another date night.
Wonderful experience, even with our toddler. The staff was so great and the food was delicious.
Great food, service and atmosphere
We sat outside and we’re allowed to bring our German Shepherd. It was delightful. The food and people were all good.
We are not "objective" in any way when it comes to the Red Fox Inn! Numerous visits to this outstanding establishment have been a pleasure---and we have dined there as a couple, with family, and with friends for nearly forty years: the food is always superb with a wait staff that could not be more attentive! In short, the Red Fox Inn is a true gem for an escape--be that for lunch or for dinner.
A very pleasant dining experience. The venue was delightful, the service was great, as was the food.
The service and food was exceptional! Will definitely go back next year
Food was over priced for the quality and creativity. Service was average. For a $40-$50 entree I expect excellent and all our meals were good, but not superior. Love the setting and will stick to lunch here unless they’ve inflated their lunch prices, too.
Our service was amazing! Food was delicious-atmosphere quaint and historic.
Outstanding in every way. Lovely setting in old Middleburg, delightful service and ambiance, and cuisine that always impresses--choicest ingredients and masterful preparation.
Wonderful food, service, and lovely atmosphere! Can't wait to go back.
We have been going for years The menu is always creative and the ambience inside and out, perfect.
Such a great place for a nice dinner out. The service was superb, and it's quiet and cozy inside. We have gone twice and will definitely be going back for special occasions in the future.
My husband and I had the best experience eating at the Red Fox Inn for our anniversary. The food was incredible!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there!
Excellent food and service in a wonderful and historic building.
Nearly all food had onions and garlic. Unexpected in old American tavern. But omelette very good.
my wife and I have very little time to spend together and it's nice on a Sunday morning to call up make reservations and have a nice time at the red Fox inn we always enjoy our time there we have been going there for over 20 years now
All good except that I thought it was overpriced for the overall experience.
Food was outstanding, as always. The biscuit basket is Southern cooking to perfection. And, out waiter, Andrew, was friendly, professional, and very attentive. Kudos to Andrew and the cook! Always a joy to eat at Red Fox Inn!!!
The staff was very attentive and nice. We sat inside for dinner, but enjoyed a glass of champagne on the patio. Very nice setting and quite romantic!
Excellent food, excellent service. Steak was clearly top-end Prime. It was expensive, however, so won't be a frequent choice.
This is the second time in the last year that we have had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant and both times we were very happy with the experience. The food and service were both outstanding. This time we also stayed overnight at the Inn and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Whenever we are able to pass through Middleburg in the future we will definitely plan on eating at this restaurant.
