My wife and I have eaten at the Inn on numerous occasions but this is the first time that we spent a night in one of their rooms. The room was excellent, quiet and spacious. We stayed in the Piedmont Suite and it was trully outstanding in all aspects. The staff at the Inn are friendly, professional and courteous. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and I wanted it to be truly special and it was. We look forward to more visits to the Inn.
New Year’s Eve 5 course dinner was wonderful ! Service was great and attentive. Food was fabulous! We had the best table in the back room by the fire! Such an historic and charming building. So much food we had to take our dessert to go. Can’t wait to come back again for dinner!
Our server, Brandon, was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Exceptional. From the appetizer to dessert, everything was prepared perfectly.
Wonderful meal and service!
It was fantastic! It was the day after Christmas so they still had a fixed menu and service was wonderful.
Perfect service and food in an historic building.
Fine Christmas Eve Dinner with the family. Just per!
The food and service was 5star!
Went on a Saturday afternoon for brunch with my wife, our first visit. The atmosphere was amazing. Stone walls from the 18th century and a we were seated next to a fireplace. Incredibly charming. Food was mostly very good. Pre-meal pastries were delicious. The French toast was also delicious. The fried chicken, while tasty, was very dry. Service was good, however when they took our plates to box up the uneaten portion of our meal, we got home to find a lot of it was not put in the box. None of the side dishes were included and only the chicken that was totally untouched made the box. Very disappointing. Two, 2-course meals, with tip, was about $100... so it was a pricy brunch. All-in-all we enjoyed our visit and would probably return.
Great food and great service. Love the Red Fox!
We’ve been returning to the Red Fox Inn for years. We love it every time! It is absolutely charming and the food is fantastic!
Texas fried in town. Her birthday.
The food was amazing. It’s always a treat to eat here.
One member of our party ordered a gin and tonic. It was prepared with club soda instead of tonic. When asked, the server claimed this was how they were instructed to prepare them. The ingredients are in the name of the drink. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Great food and service in a quaint, comfortable setting! Will definitely return.
A truly wonderful experience! Our server Dakota was on point the whole evening.
Dinner Saturday night while in babymoon
The Red Fox Tavern is so charming! The Christmas decor, warmth from the fire and outstanding food was so charming!
As always, The Red Fox was a lovely experience. The staff are always gently gracious; service excellent, and the ambiance perfect for celebrating a special occasion, or simply sharing a meal with friends and/or loved ones. NOTE: my mother was first generation Swedish. She met my father during the Korean conflict; when she finally arrived in the U.S. The Red Fox was the first restaurant in Virginia to which my father took her.
The food was delicious and service was superb. The wait staff was so patient and kind particularly to two small toddlers. Would definitely go back again. The only negative was the expense for the kids meal. Pricey for what they ate.
Great meal and service by Andy! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive!
Wonderful evening, three adults celebrating two birthdays. Food and service were excellent. Our waiter, Brandon was knowledgeable and witty and gave excellent service.
Great food with large portions, but still a little pricey. But overall we enjoyed it and will be back! We also had great service!
Our experience at the Red Fox Inn & Tavern was fantastic! The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. The wait staff is very knowledgeable of allergies and were very accommodating of my gluten allergy. We will definitely return whenever we are in Middleburg.
Excellent meal. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff
Enjoyed the Red Fox Tavern's Black Friday Brunch, and it was excellent. The craft beverages and food was superb.
This was the second time my husband and I had dinner at the Red Fox; this time to celebrate our anniversary. I can honestly say that it was probably the best dinner we have ever had. Between the top-notch service (we had a wonderful waitress!), beautiful atmosphere and scrumptious food, we truly had a fabulous experience. Can’t wait to go back!
We were seated in the back room where we were the only customers. Soon thereafter another couple was seated at the table right next to us. The entire room with a dozen other tables remained empty. It would have been more enjoyable for all guests to have been seated farther away from each other for a more intimate and comfortable meal.
The food is just outstanding. I had the omelet and it was filled with great vegetables and cheese. Cannot waiting to try other things on their brunch menu.
After living in Middleburg for 20+ years, I have eaten at the Red Fox dozens (maybe hundreds) of times. I’ve watched it change and adapt as the town has changed and adapted. It is still an excellent, reliable place to go for celebrations, special occasions, holidays. But - it is rapidly becoming too expensive as a “regular” place to go and many locals are opting out. Our Sunday brunch menu had nothing under $22 and included $24 French Toast and $28 Fried Chicken. Wines by the glass start at $14
The food is good and the wine pours are exact - not generous. Brunch for three with one shared salad and a glass of wine each came to just under $140.00 without tip. I will say our server was excellent - knew wine, knew dish ingredients , knew what the kitchen could accommodate - very impressive. He quietly went above and beyond to get one of the orders corrected and re-delivered in record time with little fuss.
I will continue to go and take out of town guest who will love the history and atmosphere but I wish they would make their menu a bit more financially friendly.
Loved the fire places on a cold day
This place is truly exceptional, and I’m a bit of a food snob. Outstanding service- our server anticipated our every need. And the food was creative and phenomenal.
The service, food and ambience was superb ! It was a perfect night to end the evening. I will definitely come back
We have been guests of the Red Fox Inn many times over the years and have never been disappointed.
When any venue of this type looks so tranquil, smooth running and lovely-there is only one way it occurs and that is thru a team of very hard working people.
Excellent meal with GREAT service. Did set 4 course meal with wine pairing. Couldn't have been better. Will be back.
The Red Fox is a beautiful, historic inn. We had brunch with company from out of state. The menu was varied and interesting and the Red Fox offers a wide variety of wines and cocktails. The service was wonderful—attentive but not cloying. We appreciated the written history of the Inn on the wine menu. It’s a great place—HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
My husband and I recently celebrated our first year anniversary. I wanted to make the night super special and memorable for both of us. Days prior to our anniversary I reached out to the Inn, I was put in touch with Amanda (events coordinator) and she was beyond perfect. Amanda helped me choose a bottle of champagne and gave me the number for a local florist who was able to recreate the floral arrangement from our wedding.
From the time we arrived for dinner, the staff was nothing but warm and friendly. I could tell that they were excited to help us celebrate our first anniversary. Everything was perfect from the champagne all the way down the the desert.
The Inn is a very magical place and I am so glad that they met the expectations for such a special occasion.
We went to the red fox inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband ordered the steak and fries but they had run out (at 6:15pm) which was kind of odd but forced him to get something out of his comfort zone. So he got the trout and loved it. We also sat upstairs and loved the vibe.
Great dinner and great atmosphere
The setting and meal were just right for a beautiful fall day, we'll go again.
