Great local spot in Pasadena with cute outdoor patio ! The brunch items all sounded amazing and the Fritata came out superb. Cocktails were great too!
Robert is the best server we have ever had. We really go to see him and have the Smoking Jackets.
It was my husband & I first time & we enjoyed ourselves very much. The food was excellent and the service was great. We definitely will return.
Steak was very salty. Everything else is mediocre. They charged $125 per person for Valentines Day and an additional 20% for service fee. This was never communicated to us prior to arrival. I understand we have a pandemic and we need to support small business, but if I knew that was the quality of food I’d get for the price I pay I rather take my money to a hole in the wall restaurant and support them instead.
No ambience setting, not even a candle on the table. Definitely not a date night spot. I have not tried the brunch but apparently that’s what they’re known for. The pre-fix menu for Valentine’s Day was only average and therefore extremely overpriced. Clunky west elm style furniture, questionable music, rushed service (that I didn’t mind considering what a flop it was). Again, I’m only channeling my inner Karen due to the fact that this shouldn’t be on your date night shortlist. Average wine list (most French or NoCal). The food feels French in technique but definitely not done to my liking. Not a good place for people with acquired taste who might expect a European dining experience. The crowd was not fun either so not an interesting vibe. Mostly local extremely casually dressed middle aged and older people.
Valentine’s Day was perfect here,
Raymond's is the place to be if you're looking for good food and ambiance. Their brunch menu is not expensive and tastes good. Robert A, our server, is awesome. He knows what we need even before we ask. Top notch!
Always a favorite of mine and they never disappoint
I have not been to the Raymond for a while because the last time it was not very
good. The breakfast this time was more like I remember it to be.
Lovely breakfast with delightful service. I shall return soon.
Normally love the Raymond but this time they were out of most of their entrees by 7:30pm. It was valentines weekend and was very disappointing.
The Raymond delivered the goods on Valentines Day to my wife and me, even with the C19 protocols in place. Friendly service staff, lots of outdoor heaters by nearly every table (other venues are scarce and stingy even refusing to mover them close to us) and excellent food. Highly recommended.
We have been going to the Raymond for over 10 years and this is the first time that I have been disappointed.
- The food was over seasoned, I had to scrape the pork with my knife.
- They ran out of 3 of the main dishes by 7:00 PM (not valentines day either)
- The food took a long time to arrive.
- Usually the staff is very professional and knowledgeable; this time our server didn't appear to have ever worked at a nice restaurant before and was trying to make up for it by being overly polite.
- The music was too loud and the music style did not match the ambience.
All this was so surprising that we asked if there were new owners or a new chef or if they were downgrading from fine dining to casual dining (The Water Grill in DTLA did this to appeal to a larger mass of people).
Will have to give it another try and see what happens.
Awesome service and quality of food even at this hard time. Definitely one of our favorite.
Food was great! I just wish they had an option for bottomless mimosas. Otherwise, it’s $12 per mimosa, which is kind of pricey but we did it anyway. I had the breakfast burrito and our table shared chilaquiles and the blueberry pistachio pancakes. Absolutely no complaints!
Great Galentine’s Venue
About the 6th time during covid and they do such a good job all things considered. Feels safe and the food and drinks are as good as ever.
We have been going to The Raymond for years, and I think this was the best meal we ever had there. The chef is amazing, the staff welcoming and friendly and the cocktails are the most outstanding in Los Angeles. Nathan the bartender never disappoints. And in this time of COVID, The Raymond has a beautiful outdoor sitting area.
Very disappointed - the service was terrible
beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic food, and kid friendly!
Such a great restaurant for brunch outside. Really fabulous experience.
I felt safe. The ambiance was nice. The food and service was wonderful! I recommend this restaurant. We had a wonderful table in the outdoor patio.
It was amazing! We were seated by the fireplace. Made a reservation on opentable. The cocktails were on point. I had The Contender-hamburger. Their special blend of ground beef, the pickled onions are a nice touch. The garlic fries were legit and crispy. 👍🏽👍🏽
So lovely to come back to The Raymond after all the COVID lockdowns. Lovely service, fantastic food, all served with good cheer and gratitude. Bless the chefs, servers, and staff. What a rough time they’ve had. Very grateful to you all.
Only improvement would be more heaters as it got a bit too cold outside.
Absolutely amazing. We came here to celebrate a huge career change and the atmosphere, food and amazing service made it perfect!
We had an amazing brunch at The Raymond, I took my mom and soon to be mother in law and we received the best service. Everything was delicious, the chilaquiles, pancakes, breakfast potatoes, mimosas, everything. Our waiter was exceptional, and even allowed us to sit at the most private table in it's own corner away from the crowd which made us all feel a lot safer taking off our masks. This is a beautiful restaurant and they do everything well, can't wait to come here again when this lockdown is over!
Great ambiance and appetizers but main dishes not great

Went here for a birthday. It was a PERFECT night! Food and service were impeccable. Ambiance was beautiful. Thank you so much to our server, you absolutely made our night.
This is my second time and they didn’t disappoint! Good wines by the glass and great bartender- my martini was perfect!
It was my birthday and they made me feel very special!
I attended a lunch at the Raymond just before the current shut down for COVID. It was delightful -- brunch on Saturday. Food was quite good and the people were terrific.
Consistently good. The service is wonderful. I appreciate everyone there.
They were incredibly rude
Very appropriate to the current pandemic with protective gear. The food, as always, was wonderful and tasty. The open patio was festively decorated for the holidays.
Place was nice, had hard chairs and light bulbs out on the patio. Experience was not worth the value, but it has a very secluded dining area, but we could smell marijuana being smoked from the lot next door and were offered an apology by the waiter. I won’t be returning, unfortunately.
The Raymond offered us a most safe outdoor dining environment during Covid and for that we were grateful. The cocktails are inventive and well executed. The wine list, Covid Limited and not very attractive even for a wine-o. The food menu was again, limited, but was diverse and tasty if not for touch over-seasoned. The bottom line, with the rest of LA County dining shut down this represents one of the best Pasadena has to offer.
The street noise level in the patio area in which we sat was very load.
We love the Raymond! They have the best patios for dining! Their food is always delicious, service is excellent! All of their staff are wearing mask, face shield and gloves, and their host will check your temperature during check in! Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Thank you, Raymond! Xoxo
Expensive but worth every penny.
The food was okay. I would ho again, but this time instead of dinner I will try brunch.
