The Raymond restaurant offers an elegant setting for your special event.
View Private Dining DetailsThe food is so delicious abd the outside seating is very beautiful.
We were seated on the outdoor patio. In the beginning we were the only people there so the service was quick and the noise level was great. As the dinner went on there were some families seated near us so the noise picked up but was still really nice. The food was delicious too. It was a VERY rich and heavy meal but good none the less. The waitress had great insight and recommendations. Overall very pleased
The Friday night was busy. The bar was packed and noisy. We didn't like the table that was left for us, so the hostess kindly found us another much better table and as we waited in the bar for the table to be ready, she graciously comped us our first drink. Service was great, food good, but it's the ambience that sells the restaurant.
Okay food. A bit noisy. Seated near bathroom
Went to TheRaymond for Sunday Brunch. We were seated immediately, but right next to the front door so there was noise from people coming and going. The room we were in was small and there were a couple loud tables next to us. At times it was tough to hear each other and have a conversation. The food was good. Salmon was perfectly cooked. Only compliant was that the shrimp in the salad still had their tails on (awkward to remove and keep in the same salad bowl while trying to eat around them), and they were over cooked.
Beautiful day. Happy we stopped in here. Loved all the made from scratch dishes!
Used to enjoy The Raymond very much. The food was NOT good. The wine was $19.00 per glass, which was fine, but was from a bottle that had been opened and the Phelps was not good.
I have lived in the area a long time, but will not go back there again, and neither will the person I was with.
The wait staff were very attentive.
Really enjoyed dinner.
Went for Easter brunch with my family, everyone enjoyed their food, so many delicious choices, had a hard time picking just one but was not disappointed with the ricotta pancakes! Yumm. The ambience is quaint & beautiful, so many nooks, crannies & garden areas to choose from. Service was great! Will definitely be back soon.
great restaurant. enjoyed the food. great ambiance. not too loud, so you can hear each other speak.
The Raymond hit it out of the park for Easter Brunch for the family. Their appetizer Apple Fritter for the table was a delicious starter, I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict with Asparagus with outstanding Hollandaise, and the bartender knew his way around a Bloody Mary. My only feedback is the "Children's Offerings". Two scrambled eggs and bacon cost the same as the Two Eggs Any Way option for adults. ? Darling outdoor restaurant, service was sublime!
Our Open Table reservation notes were not read, and so the initial table provided did not work (not enough seats, noisy area). We were re-seated to the same size table with an extra seat, which meant the seats could not pull into the table. However, when three narrower seats were made available, we all fit comfortably. And the new table was in a quiet area. The host graciously offered to comp us a couple of starters. We ordered modestly (just baguettes/butter and the pickled food of the day). When we received the bill, we were charged for the starters. After noting this (I would have trusted it was done but fortunately my husband looked more closely at the bill), the starters were then taken off the bill. Two of our orders were not prepared according to the description on the menu (e.g., 6 oysters for $25 and only four of them had the described marinade while the others were plain). I do want to acknowledge that our server and the assistant were very attentive, which was great. We did leave the full 20% tip for our table (already assumed on the check) in honor of their work despite the issues with the hosting and kitchen. It was a disappointing experience for a renowned restaurant for a special occasion and expensive meal. We stayed relaxed and had a nice time together, but the value for the money was not there this time.
Forgot how good this place is! A bit more expensive the a Marie Callendar's or Acapulco (places that don't even exist anymore! and sooo much better! We split creative lunch sandwiches that were delicious and I loved the bread so much, I asked the waitress if they sold the bread. She checked and said no, but gave me a to go box with 4 slices of the pumpernickel! Who does that? Only critique, desserts not enticing...Creme brule and a few sorbets that sounded too healthy...basil? hibiscus? Nyet! But will definitely return to this off the old town Pasadena path!
Found this place and thought it was super cute. We sat down at 7:30, I had asked for outdoor seating since it was more romantic but they didn’t have anything available for another hr so we said inside was fine even though it felt stuffy. After waiting 10 minutes or more we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered our drinks and two appetizers. After a few minutes the waiter came back and said the soup was not available so we just waited for the four oysters we ordered. It was 20 minutes after and still no oyster or our waiter. We asked another gentleman if he can check on our order. Another 5 minutes passed and they finally brought it out. Unfortunately for us, it was the worst oysters we have had and we told the manager. Finally our waiter comes and we place our entree orders. Not sure if the kitchen was backed up or not, the place did not look that busy but our food took over 50 to an hr before that was out! We were debating if we should leave at this point since we had been waiting for so long. Once we got our food, cod fish and chicken dish, we both agreed we were still hungry! I have never left s restaurant hungry! They were nice enough to take the oysters off the bill and give us a delicious dessert. Other than the desserts being really good, everything else was not great at all. We would not go back due to it being super slow in service and the food was not great. The staff was very nice but we just would not go back. We actually had to stop at a fast food restaurant after cause that’s hungry we still were.
I hope we were just having a bad night cause we really wanted to love the place since it was so cute and cozy.
Finally got to dine at the great historic restaurant in Pasadena. Had reservation so got right in, and Grace our waitress was fantastic. No pressure to order fast and move on, spend 3 hours dinning with friends. I had the Nordic Cod atop morel mushrooms. Cod was juicy and not overcooked, the morels where spicy and truly delightful. Starters, fresh bread with spicy & sweet butter. A plate of wild mushrooms flavorful and hardy. The lamb was tasty with eggplant and couscous, fried shared a chop with me. will definitely return to view the wonderful landscaped restaurant.
We had brunch last Sunday. The service was very slow and our waiter seemed too stressed to be friendly and welcoming. The muffins were old, the eggs tasteless and the salad bitter. We will be looking for another Pasadena restaurant.
Thought I requested outdoor seating for brunch but got stucked in bar area with stroller.
We have eaten there several times, most recently for brunch. Interesting menu items, well prepared and really good service. One of our favorites when we visit the Pasadena area.
We waited 45minutes for a table. Waitress was rude.
I liked the inventiveness displayed by the menu, but I was somewhat disappointed by the preparation of the salmon, the onion rings and part of the vegetable side dish....Loved the setting on the patio, though, as well as the wonderful mushroom dish.
We have been to the Raymond many times. It is our favorite cozy place for special occasions and I recommend it also for outdoor dining. It is not your average cookie cutter place. Being in an old house makes it special. The food is outstanding also. Love this place!
A little pricey but worth it for the ambiance.
Friendly and lovely space.
Fun, special occasion spot! Food is good. Cocktail menu is great!

Haven't been to The Raymond in 25 years. Found it as lovely as ever. Totally enjoyed my meal by the fireplace and excellent service by my waiter.
It was our one year anniversary/turned into engagement night dinner. It was perfect for an intimate, special meal.
I hadn't been to this restaurant for several years and I learned I wasn't missing much. The server was not pleasant, she was aloof and non accommodating . The food was overpriced and the atmosphere disappointing.
nice luncheon with girlfriend.. a favorite spot of mine to have lunch with friends , its quiet has good food and atmosphere.
Restaurant is in a historic cottage with small adjoining rooms. Ambience and food is excellent; service is impeccable. Creative cocktails. Would visit again.
Met a friend for Sunday brunch and sat in the patio with a heater nearby. Had the huevos rancheros and fruit crepe - friend had the Bloody Mary. The food and drink were excellent. Recommend better and stronger coffee, especially for the price. Bathrooms are rather inconvenient. Valet parking. Want to go back for Happy Hour.
I liked that even when it was raining, they kept the outdoor seating warm. The food and service was great. A little bit on the higher price but all together, it was a great experience.
Everything about The Raymond is top drawer. The staff were fantastic!
We sat outside, it was a bit chilly, but they accommodated us with a heater. We were able to talk business, noise level was good where although are party was of 7, we were able to hear each other across the table. Great service, food was excellent!
This place is magical! We had the best server and the best time! Perfect place for a girls night.
While the entrance experience is confusing (did I enter through the front or the back door?!) I was greeted in under a minute and immediately seated near the fireplace on a cold night(alas, the room was not designed to fully enjoy the view).
I quickly got over these minor issues when our server, the friendly and attentive server Becky arrived. She was so pleasant, helpful and patient. The type of service you would expect from a very high-end restaurant.
The menu was slightly different from the one online, but only because it appears to get updated with the freshest ingredients available. We selected the “Pickle Project” for an appetizer. A bold and surprisingly delicious dish of apple slices pickled with habaneros. This project changes the main fruit/vegetable regularly.
You must have a cocktail while at the Raymond. It’s their thing. Great classics and inventive twists.
For entrees we had the duck and scallops. Both were perfectly cooked with nice accompaniments (and in adequate portions to make a meal- a rarity these days!).
Great food. Everything very tasty. A little bit pricy though.
I returned to the Raymond because of nice prior experiences. Cozy and authentic, warm ambiance. Menu is fun and interesting, and of excellent quality. Fun unusual cocktail offerings.
Excellent brunch, a surprisingly good value.
We got a great table on the adorable patio. Service was great, as was food. Very cool, historical craftsman cottage. So nice.
Always a treat. My husband and I love having dinner on a date night here. Never disappointed.
