The Raymond Restaurant
The restaurant is housed in the former caretaker's cottage of the storied Raymond Hotel. It is a slice of Pasadena’s historic past and carries on it's great traditions of hospitality and architecture with it's indoor cottage seating and outdoor craftsman style patios.

Brunch. Sat inside because of the heat. Quaint place and the menu was good. Had a Bloody Mary that was spicy! Saw lots of groups in the patio. Good place for kids but only at brunch on the weekends.
Our first time at this restaurant was last Thursday for dinner, met friends visiting from out of state. We were greeted promptly with a smile, the whole staff was wonderful. We sat outside in their lovely patio area, which is a very tranquil experience. The craft drinks, appetizers down to the main course, (pork chops) was excellent. I highly recommend this fine restaurant.
My mom and I went to the Raymond for dineLA restaurant week. Great ambiance outdoors. I ordered the roasted cauliflower, the cashew cream pasta, and the chocolate shell
Food was delicious. The outdoor patio was lovely. The salad was so fresh and taste like it came straight from a farm. We went for lunch during DineLA. It was a great value.
Nice experience at a quaint restaurant
Restaurant has lost its way. Instead of serving well prepared basic dishes, it continues to try to be trendy without much success.
Great ambiance and decor in this old vintage restaurant and each dining area is unique and very relaxing :)
Another lovely evening on their beautiful patio.
Love the setting and the easygoing vibe. Drinks in the patio, then dinner there too-no problem!!
Delicious salmon dinners. A must come back place!!
We had not visited The Raymond in over 20 years, but thought it the ideal location for our 35th wedding anniversary. I do not consider myself in any way a "foodie", but I must say that the meal was quite extraordinary. Add to that the lovely ambiance of outdoor seating and the attentive servers and it was a lovely evening all around
I was an hour late arriving for the reservation, although the other 2 people in my party arrived on time. The manager could not have been nicer, more accommodating and friendly. And he had a great sense of humor! It made what could have been a disaster into a very pleasant dining experience among 3 long-time friends.
Steak ordered medium plus, came out over seasoned and rubbery in texture. Salmon served on plank with rest of meal, veggies were falling off the plank. Drinks were amazing.
My friends and I shared the cobb salad, the humus, and the grilled veggie wrap. The salad was delicious and easily shared by the three of us. The humus itself was good, but the addition of the olive tapenade garnish added an extra pleasing flavor sensation. The veggie wrap included grilled zucchini and egg plant which overpowered any other vegetable that may have been included. I prefer my vegetables to be on the crisp side and juices from the mushy vegetables made the wrap a little too moist for my tastes.
Sitting on the patio was wonderful! Because of his cheerful enthusiasm, our server, Robert, made us all smile. Robert, the kitchen staff, and the other servers made sharing brunch at The Raymond a lovely experience. We will definitely return.
Very nice environment and good food. Waitress are very attentive.
Bar staff seemed new in the business. Outdoor table was dusty, lamp chops were between the size of a $.50 and a silver dollar. The steak was about 6-7oz. Was not a good value over all.
overall it is cute and cozy place to try, the garden seating is always charming and romantic.
I would say it is a hidden gem in Pasadena and I would love to come back for dinner since it would be very romantic with all lights.
The venue itself is lovely. Our cocktails and wine choices were perfect. The meal itself was lovely, my husband had a wonderful streak and I the lamb chops. The peanut butter dessert with honeycomb was amazing, and as it was our anniversary, they even brought us out some champagne to celebrate! This place is a gem!
Food was not great , used to be so good and not sure what happened. Would t go there again. So not worth the money at all. Horrible and terrible. Go if you want to waste money
Thanks so much for accommodating us when our party grew larger than expected. Service was great and non-obtrusive. Food was delicious!
Great Saturday morning breakfast with friends!
Birthday. We had a great time, closed the placed nobody rushed us thank you for an awesome experience
We love the setting outside at the Raymond. Our food is always delicious and service is great
The waiter was so nice and the food delicious. Sometimes they are snooty when I come at dinner times, but the brunch staff was completely different! Looking forward to going back.
They’ve gotten a bit too “fancy” for my taste since I was here last. Still a great place though.
I am caucasian; I was lunching with an asian friend. In explaining the day's specials, the waiter looked away from my companion and only at me. I told the waiter that my companion was able to understand English and that he should address us both. My companion and I each ordered a salad. When the waiter dropped off the bill, we were charged for four salads - each order was doubled.
So disappointed in this old stand by. It's always been dark with all the wood, but this time it was dingy, too. Curtains on the Windows torn. Lunch Menu completely changed. Everything except perhaps, the burger, was something off the wall..e g., I had fried chicken sandwich with kimchee slaw. Most things were spicy. Even the ketchup was weird, runny & spicy. So sad. Don't know about breakfast or dinner.
Romantic atmosphere, very quiet on the dining patio. Great service, delicious food.
1pm lunch on a Thursday. Restaurant not completely full. Waiter asked for drink orders but we did not have a drink menu. He then brought only 1 menu for 6 people. 50 minutes before cocktails arrived. Food arrived quicker and was ok to good. I would only recommend it with reservations.
This is a wonderful spot for brunch! Excellent service and delicious food!
Love coming here - not far from our home, and feel far away from traffic and noise. Can't beat the ambiance. Service is always fantastic and waitstaff is very friendly.
Disappointed to find out the rib eye is no longer on the menu. Please bring it back.
Very pleasant and comfortable, excellent service.
Excellent service and ambiance. I had the steak and it was excellent and cooked exactly to order. My other guests really enjoyed their meal also. Easy to talk in this setting.
Great night here with interesting menu. Rabbit Ragu, Sea Trout and Miso Cod were all outstanding. Wine list could be expanded with a few more interesting selections. Dark inside but lovely nonetheless.
We sat outside on the patio and it was very pleasant. The staff very nice; the food good.
The food was very good, the omelette and the German pancake were very good, what we had expected. The coffee was just warm, and refill the same.
We really went for a Ramos Fizz and that did not disappoint. Very hard to get servers attention. No salt and pepper on the table.
Good but not great
We sat outdoors for lunch on the lovely patio. The food was very good, but it was hard to get a waiter’s attention. We were also quite surprised that they were out of one of the listed main dishes on a quiet afternoon. They were also surprisingly out of blue cheese dressing. I’ve had better experiences at the Raymond before, so I will give them a try another time.
Delicious food in a lovely setting of an old style Pasadena House. I want to go back and spend time at the bar - it is a classic! Service was very professional and all the food we had was delicious - especially the cauliflower dish! Would definitely return.
Loved the Raymond. Came to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. Expected Old School food for such an establishment but it was surprisingly very innovative and very delicious. Love the vibe. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Leslie's Spicey Chicken & Vegetable Spinach Wrap..."INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS" Extremely Peaceful... Extremely Freindy Staff...!
I hadn't been here in 17 years... the food was still good but the restaurant definitely needed some TLC.
