The Raymond Restaurant
The restaurant is housed in the former caretaker's cottage of the storied Raymond Hotel. It is a slice of Pasadena’s historic past and carries on it's great traditions of hospitality and architecture with it's indoor cottage seating and outdoor craftsman style patios.

This is the perfect place for brunch. It included creative meal choices for old favorites; like deviled eggs made with crab meat. The mimosa was perfect
Moved our table in the middle of dinner, which was weird.
My dad enjoyed his 75th birthday brunch! Thank you!
Very nice quiet place. Great date night location.
The prefix meal was a profound disappointment.
Really great restaurant for your go to date night. We came and had their valentine's preset dinner course. I got the filet and it was top notch. My girlfriend got the chicken gnocchi was just ok. I felt like the chicken was a bit undercooked to my preference. Overall dining experience thumbs up👍
I have been wanting to go to The Raymond forever So to be able to go on Valentine's day was a treat. I was not disappointed from walking into this quant place to the outstanding service and food. Thank you I plan on going back often.
Very pleasant experience
Valentimes way over priced!!!!! No ambieance in far back patio, but quiet !
Surprise fixed menu, too expensive for what you get, and an automatic gratuity of 20%, sheesh, no I won't come back or recommend this. The food was good, not great, and certainly far below what I expect a $450 dinner for two to be.
We like the Raymond for its ambience and food, and everything was fine, but the talk in the valet line was how they went just a bit overboard gouging their clientele for the Valentine's Day dinner. On a normal night, with their regular dinner menu, if one ordered the highest price dish for each of the four courses the bill could not exceed $95.00 Their fixed-price menu for the same four courses on Valentine's Day was $120.00, with a added 20% automatic gratuity. No options. No drink specials. We all agreed that it was bit excessive for the same food. Not a great way to treat their customers just because it is an occasion.
Nice room sunlit and old school. Food was very good comfort food. A little pricey. Good service.
Always fun! Crab Cakes were tiny and not very flavorful, but everything else was very good.
I had not eaten there in years and was disappointed by the small servings and high prices. I ordered the Hanger Steak and it came by itself on a tiny plate. I was expecting a vegetable and potatoes, but it was really small. I didn't understand that it was all a la carte or I would have ordered more food. Unlikely, I'll be back anytime soon.
Very small menu and overpriced. I guess they only can have 4 entres on a Friday night.
Everything was very satisfactory
Amazing food! Amazing service! Amazing ambience! Amazing wine! Will go back for as long as they are open!
Lovely destination to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary Thank You 😊
The food was inventive. The menu encourages sharing multiple dishes, so we have the ability to taste seafood, vegetables, and meat. The wine list is not long but has a broad enough range, most of which are reasonably priced. The one failing for us was the setting. It was advertised as romantic, but the table behind us was incredibly loud and we had too many interruptions from the staff asking if the food was good, if everything was okay, etc.
It took forever to get our food served. The manager apologized but it still took more than 30 minutes.
We were disappointed at such a limited menu offering. For meals, there were about 4 options, a steak, chicken, one fish, and one or two other offerings. Same with dessert, about 3 or 4 options. My flatiron steak was very good, my wife ended up just having a Caesar salad for dinner.
Food made me sick
Your best of la special was not comparable to what the raymond is
The waiter never noticed I did not have utensils and when I asked he gave me a salad fork for my meal
great food and good service , service over all good
easy parking at the premises
Will definitely try again
Thanks to the chef
Limited menu. Nice digs. Wouldn't go back. Food was nothing special.
Wonderful and charming restaurant that really delivers on all eight cylinders. Highly recommended!
Amazing. Great evening with the wife. Food was perfect and service was great.
Old world intimacy or new world surroundings as you like.
Great food to accompany.
A friend and I went for Dine LA to check out the Raymond which I hadn't visited for a long time. The food was very good although I thought the sauerkraut was a little dry but that could simply be personal preference. We would like to return and work our way through the rest of the menu which was simple but interestestin. It is well worth a visit and the outdoor seating is lovely.
The food is always outstanding, and the vibe is definitely neighborhood with a few in the know patrons. I had a chance to meet with the owners, during our visit- and talk about nice and generous hosts! This is truly a gem, and worth a nice long meal.
Excellent food and service.
The server was a delight. The food superb. I had the mussels and they were tender perfection.
The patios looked inviting, but we sat inside.
Good meal in very pleasant setting.
Ambience, drinks and service are on-point. Would love to see a vegetarian entree added to the menu.
Atmosphere and service were nice, but the food was a disappointment. I expected creative cuisine, but the food failed the attempt. I love steamed mussels, but the promised Thai coconut curry flavors were nominal and overpowered by a smokiness that ruined the dish for me. The Caesar salad with cortina was fair, but ordinary.
Everything from the ambiance to the dishes were spectacular!!! Will definitely be back!!!
We came to have Sunday brunch for our 17 year wedding anniversary; I had the chiliquiles and my husband had a shortrib something; both delicious! They comped our dessert, which I thought was very sweet. Lovely ambiance as always; a real treasure in South Pasadena.
Indicated as a birthday dinner but no one acknowledged it or done anything special.
Menu selection was not good. Tried the pork chop. Too much starch and no veggies or sauce.
Our sever was absolutely amazing, funny, engaging and gave fantastic recommendations. The food is always exceptional and we asked her to send our compliments to the chef!
Lovely restaurant for a Saturday brunch for our group of 8. We were seated indoors in the part of the cottage with the space for ourselves. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. All our choices were delicious. Service was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Parking easy using the valet service.
