I went here with a mixed group of friends, we had one person show up that we didn’t account for in our res so I was happy they were able to accommodate us. The December morning air was very chilly and we were sat in the very back most part of the patio in the shade, their heaters we were told, had no propane. The service was very slow. Took a long time for the waiter to make initial contact with us once we were seated. The food took a long time, we were told because it was close to their closing time, but that’s when our reservation was available per the restaurant. The waiter didn’t take our food order until we had been there for a while. The food came over an hour after we had arrived. The food was tasty and was nicely plated, but unfortunately getting chills from the cold and the long waits took away from what could have been a very nice experience.
They were very busy so the service was understandably slow but everyone was so pleasant and accommodating that we didn’t even mind waiting. Food is very good.
The food was very good, but we were placed in what seemed like an overflow room. There were no other customers in the room which was rather cold. There were clearly other seats available. Because Of where we were, the service was rather hit and miss.
Made reservations through opentable to celebrate my birthday. My birthday wasn't communicated to our waitress. But it doesn't matter because she wasn't very attentive throughout our entire meal. The outdoor ambience is nice, our food was ok but nothing memorable and the service was lacking. A disappointing birthday experience.
Came for my mother-in-law's birthday. Everyone loved it. Food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing. Recommend this charming spot, set in a beautiful little house with ample outdoor areas.
It was an effort to cut through my steak. Good service, though.
The food was pretty cold and the prime rib was so hard to chew my boyfriend couldn’t eat it I had to give him some of my cold turkey. It wasn’t worth paying 300 dlls 😢
Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner! Food was delicious and the setting nice. Outdoor seating for us on a lovely, warm Fall evening. If they do it again next year, we will be back!
Great place though I had better service the last few times that I had been in this restaurant. I requested an out door dining for Thanksgiving and we were out at the back area where we are the only one dining. It was a little weird but I guess we can dig the privacy it offered. Food. Appetizer was great….we had butternut squash soap and arugula and pear salad. Main course was beef ribeye and turkey. The sides was serve way ahead of our main dish, the both steak was well done, we did sent it back. My food was cold by the time the kids beef came back. One still overdone and one was perfect. We did got a free drink compliment of our server. The dessert was to die for, I think that part I enjoyed more do that the rest of our 3 course thanksgiving meal. Would I go back? Sure will. We had great memories with my friend and family in this place, I’m still hooked.
Happy thanksgiving everyone.
The Raymond's Thanksgiving dinner this year was a disappointment in both quality and price. The turkey breast was quite dry and the prime rib was just ok. The roasted brussels sprout sides were very good -- the highlight of the meal. The apple pie served for dessert was very poor -- not really edible. The overall price -- $300 for a couple, was not at all proportional to the mediocre quality of the meal. We hope a generous share of this went to the workers.
To say the least, we were disappointed. Not The Raymond that we had remembered from years past.
We had the Thanksgiving menu, so this review may not reflect the restaurant's exceptional regular menu. We have dined at this restaurant multiple times, which says it is excellent & worth the patronage over and over. However, the Thanksgiving menu was not as good as their regular menu. Understandably so. It's not easy to prepare a holiday menu at a fully booked venue. We appreciate the high quality service & food The Raymond delivered. That is why we still love this restaurant & still give our dining experience 5 stars!
Food was cold. And there wasn’t cranberry sauce.
I have been here twice on non holidays and excellent
Great ambiance with the outside seating and delicious food!
Food was good but not great. Pasta Bolognese was very rich and delicious but the pasta itself was too al dente. Flank steak was perfectly cooked
I've been here twice now (once for dinner and once for brunch) each experience has been wonderful. Great food, service, and as someone with severe food allergies, I felt heard and taken care of. Thank you!
If you want the ambiance then go for it otherwise you can get a cheaper meal that is just as good somewhere else. Not sure if it was an off night but it took 20 mins for the server to even visit the table to grab water then another 15 to get our drink order. I’m glad we didn’t have to be anywhere right after dinner otherwise we would have been late.
Robert and our server were great. Robert is an asset to this establishment. We keep on coming back because of Robert.
Food was outstanding - nice variety of flavors and textures. Two of us had sea bass, one had short rib. Also a side of Brussels sprouts and cauliflower appetizer to share. Menu was more varied than shown on the web. Ate outside in the small patio. Heaters kept us comfortable.
One of my favorite places to eat in Pasadena!
Food it’s great the cauliflower was fresh And delicious i didn’t personally like the octopus 🐙 it was a little hard and chewy but the rest of the food was amazing! They make my favorite cocktail! No one make it better over all very cute and relax Quiet place!
Great place for Sunday brunch - particularly on the large patio in the front
We were initially seated at an indoor table that was dirty. The hostess and two other employees who visited our table said it would be cleaned, but after five minutes it hadn't been. We asked for an outdoor table. Once seated, the service was reasonably good, and when the food (a chicken order and a bolognese bowl) came, it was excellent. The ambiance outdoors was nice. Overall a good dining experience, although marred by our initial seating.
I love the vibe.
I've been to a Raymond many of times but this was my worst experience. The service was slow, but that was because there was only one server for 7 to 8 tables. The food came to the table luke warm at best, this is unfortunate because The Raymond is one of my favorite restaurants in the Pasadena area. I'm hoping I just caught them on an off night.
As always, lovely atmosphere and great food! The drinks are creative and always beautifully presented. One of my all time favorite restaurants.
Wonderful experience for our group of 7. Service was efficient and the outdoor ambience was perfect.
It was our first night out as new parents!
Great service and great food. All staff was so friendly and on top of everything.
One of my favorite brunch spots. The patio we were seated in had a gorgeous fireplace and all the tables were amply socially distanced. A heads up- the Bloody Mary was quite spicy.
Surprisingly limited menu. Good ok but not great. Deserts are the best part. Casual feel. Blew reservation and sat us by the front door. Disappointing since they admitted it was their error to double book.
Great ambiance for a low key dinner/date night.
We’ll definitely be back.
Very nice dinner. Busy and service was slow but very friendly customer service with delicious food at a fair price. Drinks were excellent!
Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Chicken dish could use some sauce. Brussel sprouts are awesome.
Solid food and solid drinks. Great vibe.
We were able to sit outside in a lovely side patio corner for our table of 5. There was plenty of space and it was not overly crowded which was nice. The food was all very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was attentive - the only note would be that the servers did not clear our small plates before bringing out the main course so it was a little awkward with the service. However, it was a great night and would definitely recommend to others.
The food was fabulous. Recommend octopus and sea bass
Overall a good place to have brunch with a friend !
The server wasn't very attentive. He only came when we waived for his attention. It was my granddaughter's birthday, but there was no dessert menu. The waiter noticed we had birthday gifts, so when we asked if there was a dessert menu, he said yes. Instead of bringing us the menu, another server brought a dessert with a candle. That was sweet, but nothing to eat it with. We had to waive the waiter and he brought 4 spoons (there were 4 of us), but never mentioned about other desserts or say they didn't have dessert menus...nothing. By then, we were there long enough, so we just paid and left. The valet was nice asking if we enjoyed it, etc. We haven't been there in years and we still enjoyed it, but the service could have been a little better?? Thank you.
Everything was very good, but warning my wife’s kale salad had hot peppers that were not listed in the ingredients.
She complained about that, and it was taken off the bill.
