The Raymond Restaurant
The restaurant is housed in the former caretaker's cottage of the storied Raymond Hotel. It is a slice of Pasadena’s historic past and carries on it's great traditions of hospitality and architecture with it's indoor cottage seating and outdoor craftsman style patios.

Hosted our daughter’s 40th surprise birthday brunch at The Raymond this past Sunday. It was a beautiful affair. Although weather was a bit cool there were heaters. We ate on the west patio which is lovely. Drinks, food and service were top notch. Highly recommend the place. Can’t go wrong!
The music was a bit too loud. Other than that it was great!
New chef - makes all the difference! Becky... the best server! EVER.
Food is really expensive. Ambiance was a little quiet and cold (old building in the winter) although service was excellent. We returned one dessert as just wasn’t very good.
We all enjoyed a delicious lunch and were impressed by the service. Truly made us feel special on a rainy day.
Very nice ambience...compliments with good food ordered.
Food a little slow, forgiven since every tables were seated.
We love the Raymond! It is consistently delicious and great service.
Brunch on a lovely Saturday morning with friends was great. We were seated on the patio upon arrival and there was a water feature and a nice cozy heater near our table. The service was prompt and kind, and the food was spectacular. The brunch cocktails are also good. We'll definitely be back.
Going back to The Raymond Restaurant with friends' exceptional recommendations for how much everything (food, service, ambiance) had improved over the past few years, we booked a table for dinner. What a complete disappointment! We ordered one cocktail, one bottle of sparkling water, two Cesar Salads, and two sides of maple-glazed carrots. Total. The food was barely edible and the bill was over $100!! We were stunned and will NEVER return. One never knows what appeals to others nor does one ever know what food tastes like to anyone else. But this was ridiculous.
The restaurant itself was great. However, there was apparently a problem with the processing of my $100 Dining Reward, for which we had scheduled the reservation. The manager opted to eat that cost, and we made sure to show our gratitude in the tip, but I hope that he was able to get compensation from Open Table for that amount eventually.
Not a pleasant experience. I cannot think of one positive thing to say about The Raymond.
So much better in days of old. My husband and I used to go there for special occasions and the food was fabulous (like 30 years ago!)
This time they tried to seat us outside, alone, on a cold day even though we had requested inside. The decaf coffee was horrible and the food was only passable, nothing inspired (think no herbs in an omelet).
They could do so much better. And one suggestion: veggie options please. This is California folks.
Great brunch spot with cool interior and patio areas!
Loved the food and the ambiance of this restaurant
We went for brunch on the last day of our weeklong visit to Pasadena. We wished we had come sooner so we could have come more than once! The building is so beautiful, the menu was great and food was plentiful and delicious. Our server, Jose, was exceptional. He showed us the book detailing the history of The Raymond (so interesting) and gave us old postcards. He was really a gem! Would definitely return on our next visit to Pasedena.
I just love this place. The ambience is excellent. We’ve been many times over the years but this last experience was outstanding. Everyone loved the service and drinks in the bar. My martini was perfection. I asked for it shaken and extra cold and it was. The food was excellent. The chef has transformed the menu and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Bravo to all! Wait staff, Chef, bartenders all get 5 stars. Will be back soon!
Once this was an excellent five star dining place. Now it seems reduced down to pay for bread, accept small portions, pay $15 for a small salad, pay 5X for a bottle of wine, accept drinks that are not what you ordered, cold plates, silverware thrown on your table, and now, super high prices for the product you receive. Sorry, not coming back to this place anymore.
I love this restaurant and haven’t been back in a while. I felt the parking was a little expensive. But other than that the food was wonderful the service was wonderful and they were extremely accommodating.
Very nice ambiance, great friendly service and very delicious food.
This is the perfect place for brunch. It included creative meal choices for old favorites; like deviled eggs made with crab meat. The mimosa was perfect
Best place ever!!! Never fails to amaze me! Love the service!
Moved our table in the middle of dinner, which was weird.
Attended restaurant on my 30th birthday for dinner with friends. Waiter saw me wandering outside and asked if I'd like to be seated. I declined and explained that we had just had dinner. I then asked if I could bother her for a quick picture with my friends to mark the occasion. She smiled and said no. Incredibly rude and disappointing. Didn't mean to take much time from her, just wanted a memory. Not planning on returning anytime soon.
My dad enjoyed his 75th birthday brunch! Thank you!
Excellent high end American bistro dinner highly recommended
Very nice quiet place. Great date night location.
The prefix meal was a profound disappointment.
Really great restaurant for your go to date night. We came and had their valentine's preset dinner course. I got the filet and it was top notch. My girlfriend got the chicken gnocchi was just ok. I felt like the chicken was a bit undercooked to my preference. Overall dining experience thumbs up👍
I have been wanting to go to The Raymond forever So to be able to go on Valentine's day was a treat. I was not disappointed from walking into this quant place to the outstanding service and food. Thank you I plan on going back often.
Very pleasant experience
Valentimes way over priced!!!!! No ambieance in far back patio, but quiet !
Surprise fixed menu, too expensive for what you get, and an automatic gratuity of 20%, sheesh, no I won't come back or recommend this. The food was good, not great, and certainly far below what I expect a $450 dinner for two to be.
We like the Raymond for its ambience and food, and everything was fine, but the talk in the valet line was how they went just a bit overboard gouging their clientele for the Valentine's Day dinner. On a normal night, with their regular dinner menu, if one ordered the highest price dish for each of the four courses the bill could not exceed $95.00 Their fixed-price menu for the same four courses on Valentine's Day was $120.00, with a added 20% automatic gratuity. No options. No drink specials. We all agreed that it was bit excessive for the same food. Not a great way to treat their customers just because it is an occasion.
Nice room sunlit and old school. Food was very good comfort food. A little pricey. Good service.
Always fun! Crab Cakes were tiny and not very flavorful, but everything else was very good.
I had not eaten there in years and was disappointed by the small servings and high prices. I ordered the Hanger Steak and it came by itself on a tiny plate. I was expecting a vegetable and potatoes, but it was really small. I didn't understand that it was all a la carte or I would have ordered more food. Unlikely, I'll be back anytime soon.
Very small menu and overpriced. I guess they only can have 4 entres on a Friday night.
Everything was very satisfactory
Amazing food! Amazing service! Amazing ambience! Amazing wine! Will go back for as long as they are open!
Lovely destination to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary Thank You 😊
