Max....so accommodating! Always checked on us concerning our food and drinks. Really friendly! Have had the pleasure of having Max taking our orders twice & both occasions, service was the best I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant!
The service from the staff was really good. The food was amazing. This was my second time visiting the restaurant and won't be my last. I definitely recommend the Ravensbury.
I've been twice in one week one with work colleagues second time with my Partner. The food is absolutely amazing full of flavour. The waitresse we had was also so attentive and helpful. I can't wait to go back again.
The wait was extremely long. The heaters were only located at the back. Food was a bit blend.
customer service good
food is cold doesn't taste good
beautiful place and good service and excellent food
Had been once before with good food and service but this was the complete opposite.
Service was incredibly slow even though it wasn't too busy. We arrived by 7.45, our orders taken about 8.15. We had to ask about the starters which did not arrive till 9.15 - and one of the dishes was cold. It reached 9.45 and we were fed up, hoping to have finished our meal by now. We cancelled our mains. The waiter was kind enough to not give any hassle over this and give us a bottle of wine as way of apology. Unfortunately, still a good evening ruined. I would only return during happy hour times for the cocktails.
Food toon 50 mins to arrive and when it did starters and mains came together. Everyone's food was taking ages. I had a Katsu Curry and the chicken had red bits inside but was over cooked and dry. Strange. The salad was also going brown and was warm so have a feeling the chicken was undercooked band then sat uder the heat lamp waiting for waiter to collect. They are running a weird pay as you go service and I think that's cos they know people will walk out if the food is taking too long. 2 for 1 cocktails were lovely and they replaced one that got knocked over. Staff are always very friendly just s bad day for food for the first time ever which made it unpleasant as everyone was complaining.
We waiting for an hour and a half just for popadoms
We ordered 3 starters and only 1 came
After two hours of waiting we only received popadoms and 1 starter.
When we was ordering we was told the tandoori oven was broken so that half the menu wasn’t available.
After waiting 2 hours we decided to leave and not wait any longer for our main
I enjoyed my experience at The Ravensbury and the service was good. We were welcomed and seated in a Quite area. The food was good and take away option for food not eaten. The manager was as usual very polite and helpful. I look forward to another visit soon.
Expensive overall but enjoyed the experience.
We visited on Monday to celebrate our anniversary. Lovely food. Staff were outstanding and checked on us to see if we were comfortable. Food took sometime to arrive but sumptuous starters and mains. The tent outside gets colder for the night. Would be good to have a few heaters. Otherwise, lovely ambience.
Not sure if it’s just the COVID situation but it’s totally different. As soon as the main was delivered we were asked to pay.
The vibe has changed.
So first of all we had our food and drinks order taken all at the same time. We were ensured that our drinks will arrive before the food as the waitress told us that the food will all come out together which is what we wanted anyway, but obviously we wanted our drinks whilst we waited.
The waitress came and took payment before we had even received anything which we thought was strange but we didn't think anything of it and just paid. There was a mess up with the bill as one of us had paid for something that she didn't even receive and it wasn't until looking afterwards that it wasn't on the bill either. The waitress came to the table asking us to pay for the drink which another waiter had already informed us that we won't have to pay for it as it was their mess up. Lesson learned, DO NOT pay for anything until you receive the food and drink. After roughly an hour, some of our food was brought out to the table, still no drinks. As they brought out some of the food, they started to bring out food for the table next to us which meant that our food was starting to get cold. A couple of dishes were sent back to be changed as they were sitting there for 20 minutes as we were waiting for the rest of the food to arrive. They had messed up some of our orders but we just took it anyway because we had waited so long for it. I understand that they've only just re-opened again after lockdown but the experience was nothing that they wasn't used to before lockdown. It's fair to say most of us enjoyed the food but one of our party had a bit of a rough night after leaving to go home and being sick in the middle of the night
Very expensive watered down drinks and reheated food would not recommend service was poor long wait
For drinks and food
Went for the first time on the first weekend open after lockdown 3.0 and me and friends had a great time. Staff quickly bounced back into action by the looks of things. Cocktails were great!
Food, service atmosphere all amazing and the staff was really good very happy will be back again
A lovely eating experience in a lovely safe setting
We were offered a heated area too
Our host was amazing courteous and couldn’t do enough for our party
Can’t wait to go back
Food is amazing
And the cocktails are gorgeous
Lovely time at Ravensbury, great staff who catered to a group of 7 noisy women! Food was lovely, drinks we're great. Highly recommend!!
We will be back!
Staff have worked hard to keep to covid guidelines and make the atmosphere pleasant.
Seating was in an outside gazebo with heating - we were pleasantly surprised and kept warm all evening. The service and food was great with music. At great first night out after lockdown. One suggestion - longer straws!
It was lovely only issue was that it was very cold .
The food was great, service too. I can’t wait to be able to sit indoors , hopefully soon in May we can stay longer and perhaps have sone dance too.
It took at least 1hr for the food and drinks order to be taken
Tables were placed very close to each other. Felt a little noisy as the music was very loud. Food was good though and good value for money. They ran out of dessert options so that was disappointing but the main food was really tasty and portions were also reasonable.
I gave order and took very long Also wrong food as well very disappointed never come again
Since the ease of lockdown at Stage 2 and opening outdoor hospitality, The Ravenbury have made excellent effort to meet government requirements on H&S and also make the outing safe, comfortable and enjoyable for the customer.
Brilliant customer service and atmosphere they created outside is really lovely.
Great experience and staff were super nice and professional.
Service was pretty good, it was a little busy so was slower than we'd expect but well worth it when we got our food which came pretty quickly. The food was good and we very much enjoyed our dinner there.
Service was slow, it quite often is slow here. For example drinks take a long time to arrive when compared with other restaurants. Food is sometimes punctual and sometimes takes a while. The menu is good and food very tasty so I can still recommend this place. Can be fairly noisy inside.
We went thrre according to the good reviews and advise frm friends. Firs of all Pad thai wasnt cooked well and plus it wasnt supposed to be spice according to rhe menu and it came quite spocy. the singapore style noodles were very dry. They didnt have green tea instead they offered mint tea which was literally unwashed mint leaves (cld see sm dirt in the cup) with hot water. The only thing was the cocktails which tasted surprisingly good. Overall disappointed basically.
An enjoyable experience. Staff polite, friendly and attentive. Food arrived promptly. Good sized portions. Enjoyed the food. Spiced to personal tastes. Enjoyed cocktails. Given enough time to enjoy the experience. Reasonably priced. Would visit Ravensbury again.
Delicious food and great service..what more could you ask for!
Great food and lovely staff - just what we needed after a busy week at work
Food was lovely
Good service too
Definitely going back
Due to covid not enough care taken to follow the rules , inadequate seating too close
Took 35 mins to be asked for drink order. When did eventually get seen. Took Oder for starter and mains and it all came at same time.
Forgot a drink and forgot one of the starters
Had to ask for plates for our mains and didn’t bother clearing our plates we used for our popadoms
The ambiance was just right and servers were very attentive making sure we’re comfortable with our young son. The food was tasty no wow factor bit pricey for the value presented
Max was the BEST waiter. He was personable, patient and gave great recommendations for food and drink!
Having visited The Ravensbury on quite a few occasions, this was easily the worst experience.
Table booked for 7:30pm - arrived and seated by 7:35. Requested table in main restaurant. Received one on other side. Struggled to get someone’s attention to place order for food and eventually had this done by 7:50. Waited patiently but then started getting annoyed as 8:30 came and went. Grabbed someone passing to enquire and starters were then brought out by 8:45.
Starving at this point so we ate the starters which were very good. Portions have decreased and prices have increased.
We were conscious of the time so asked them to pack the mains and we moved straight onto desserts.
Not happy with the management of this place. I could see the staff were rushed off their feet and also kitchen was obviously struggling to keep up and dish out food in a timely fashion.
It’s a shame this has soured our experience and after reading many similar reviews hope something is done about this before you alienate lots of regulars.
we went ther for our 7 anniversary it was the place we met it has been done up very nice but the food is very poor and we spent most of the time trying to stope fly getting on our food and by 2 am we both were very sick so would not ever go back and don't recommend it
