The Ravenous Pig: An American Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
A wonderful evening! Their bacon infused old fashioned was an awesome start on a meal that just got better and better. Everything was amazing, from the drinks to the apps like the foix gras brûlée to the main. The pork porterhouse is to die for. Also in the restaurant eating dinner was celebrity chef Art Smith. Epic.
I had been to Cask and Larder when it was in Winter Park and thought it was excellent so I knew when I was in Winter Park again I had to try The Ravenous Pig. I was extremely impressed it was one of the best meals that I’ve had in a while excellent service, fantastic food and the Old Fashioned was the best I’d ever had!
Some in our party had the Sunday night dinner for two - the Florida fried fish, kale salad, pimento biscuits, and apple cobbler were amazing! Two others of us enjoyed the best hamburger in town (topped with bleu cheese!) with truffle fries and Gatherer's Salad. The octopus appetizer was tender and so tasty! The wine was equally delicious. Service is always friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is relaxing. This is our all-time favorite restaurant!
We came all the way from Sweden looking for a restaurant with tasty cousine and a guy from Orlando told us about this place.
The Ravenous Pig offers you perfect service, beer from their own brewery and food that makes you tastebuds fall in love. There’s a great atmosphere and it’s clean and modern. We are definitely coming back and we’ll recommend this to everyone we know that are going to Orlando.
The Ravenous Pig remains one of our favorite locations in the Winter Park area. We have dined there several times and never disappointed. The wait staff is polite, professional and knowledgeable. We enjoy the changing menus and the food is always up to par - I highly recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
I have dined at the Ravenous Pig in its previous location many times, as well as Cask and Larder. I will say I have always enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere much more at Cask and Larder.
Although the food was excellent on this visit to the new location for the Ravenous Pig I did not like the changes to the dining area. I preferred the welcoming , less pretentious environment of C+L and will miss it. There are many competing locations in the Orlando area with a more inviting atmosphere, excellent food and reasonable cost.
Our server started out the evening offering a two person dish that cost $100. While I considered the dish, I found it offensive that I was rushed into making the decision, as the server informed us that it was "going fast, so do not hesitate." It was surprising to me that the offering would be so limited, as we were among the first diners for the evening. Also, why offer in such a limited availability if it was thought to be so superb? Understanding this establishment has received awards, a bit of humbleness would be a welcomed change.
Let me start out by saying that the charcuterie was amazing! Great mixture of in restaurant made meats, made from locally sourced ingredients. The bread plate was very good as well, and both of these change a bit every month. They make their own beer onsite, and have a wide selection. Add over 100 different types of scotch/whiskey/bourbon from all over the globe, and a unique cocktail selection, and there is something for everyone.
All that being said if I was only reporting on the beginning of my meal I would give this place 5 stars, but the service was not very good. My server spent more time flirting with the hostess, than filling my wives water glass. Our food sat in the window for over 5 mins while he sat talking away, and he seemed annoyed with us for wanting to enjoy our appetizers before we ordered our meals. We ordered the shrimp tacos, and pimento Mac n cheese, and neither were good. The tacos were expensive for what you get, and The corn tortillas were still raw. there was so much acid in the tacos they were inedible. The Mac n cheese was fine it was just not worth the money.
I am still giving 4 stars because the drinks, and meat/cheese/bread plates are worth going regardless of the rest of the issues. I would be willing to go again.
Ravenous Pig is one of our favorite restaurants for a special occasion dinner. The ambiance is classy but friendly. Perfect for a high end meal, but without the pretentious attitude you get at other places. LOVE their salads and desserts as much as their entrees.
Amazing spot! Was a trek for us staying at a hotel in the Epcot area, but totally worth it. Got the charcuterie and cheese boards. Reminded us of our favorite place in Rome. The house made meets were fantastic! Citrus salami, breakfast sausage with rosemary, pepper salami and shallot salami were my faves. Also great mustard that flavor kept evolving. Wish we had a place like this in San Francisco. That should tell you something. Go already!
A delightful restaurant with authentically creative, fresh ingredients and a tantalizing menu. The cocktails were outstanding, unique twists on vintage drinks and the combinations worked beautifully. Generous portions and the service was definitely above average. Birthday occasion was recognized without prompting and a decadent surprise dessert was offered...complimentary. Great restaurant and will make the 2 hour journey to dine there again.
Everything is A++++++ from appetizers to deserts. Try their specialty cocktails and prepare to be happy and amazed. The staff makes you feel like they would stand on their head for you and the meals are flavorful and decidedly different from the other 90% of restaurants that have the same boring menus. Love da PIG!!!
My girlfriend and I came for my birthday dinner - as we have for 4 years in a row. I had not been to the new location but when I entered I liked the look. We had placed our reservation on OpenTable for 7 and after valet walked inside, but the person in front of us was being told even though he had a reservation his table wasn’t ready. We were then told the same thing and told by the hostess we could have a drink at the bar which we did. 15 minutes later another woman came to us and said “Your table is ready, but it looks like we have another reservation coming in after you so you might not have time to eat dinner. I honestly was more confused then anything. She explained that usually were given 1:45 to eat but because our table wasn’t ready by the time we sit down we may not be done before the next table comes at 8:45. I said “but we have a reservation” and she said “yes but we book through open table and things get mixed up” We reluctantly asked to go to our table. She never did apologize for any inconvenience whatsoever. We started to peruse our menus. 10 minutes later she came back and replaced them with custom ones that said “happy birthday” (awkward) 10 minutes after that our server finally came over. We told him we had a time crunch and that we were ready to order. We ordered a 4 course meal including the special, a ravioli I believe and he did not ask us if we wanted anything to drink. 10 minutes after ordering he came out to tell me that they might not be able to pull the ravioli off and we asked for drinks. 10 minutes after that he informed me the ravioli wasn’t ready and asked me to change my order so I ordered the pork porterhouse. This caused a significant delay. The food when it came was absolutely amazing as usual and the people who brought it out were so helpful and explained everything, something our server never did. At the end of the meal it took so long to get our check we did not get dessert. I was not given any birthday dessert as I have before
While the food was excellent and the chef accommodating to food allergies the service was subpar. The service started great but by the time we finished our food we had not been attended to for over thirty minutes with empty plates and glasses sitting at our table.
